Great tutorial. Today my battery indicator light came on, then the engine check light, then the horrid temperature gauge went into the red. After opening the hood I saw that the rubber seal around the hood scoop came off and was lodged into the drive belt. Noticing this horror me and my work colleague got to work. Every effort was futile, until I had a light bulb moment of searching UA-cam for a fix. Here we are with no tools apart from a metal bar and a hammer, we released the tension and followed the configuration of your tutorial. The work truck is now up and running and saved a few hundred on a mechanic. Great work
Have a Hilux and my Drive belt popped and wrapped around the crankshaft. I was able to remove the belt and use your video to install the new one. Thanks a million!!👍

@@oliverthemechanic8532 the main problem with my Vigo double cabin is , when i replace the old worn out fan belt, when I start the vehicle the belt tends to get out of aircon pulley and the alternate pulley,I jut replace it without any adjustment of the pulleys How are the two pulley adjusted to align with others
@@oliverthemechanic8532 the auxiliary belt has been changed less than 10000 km ago and the mechanics said nothing about the pulleys. 1kd has now 146000 km on it and it's 2009 model with original t-belt.. I am changing it along with the 2 other pieces coming with the set and the water pump. Thinking while I am it what else to change.. auxiliary pulleys and what else?
@@6295607 not inside the timing belt mate the outside tensioner belt 😉 im not quite sure about the part number 😬 just tell the parts guy drive belt tensioner ( belt that hold the alternator aircon etc… )

How are the two pulley adjusted to align with others
@@benrowlands2023 just check the pulley bearing first maybe its mis aligned mate or maybe there is a big play that’s why it jump when it spin 🤔

Should you replace the pulleys as well?
It depends mate if the pulleys is still ok or not and also if km is high it’s better replace the pulleys 😉

What belt is it ?! Steering pump
Power steering mate is driven by the engine 😉 that belt holds the alternator, aircon and water pump 😉 cheers Oliver
