Well done Sav!. Great Video! Very Clear and you cover all the points. PS. I was at the driving range today sandwich between two beginner golfers both being instructed by their boyfriends. I was biting my tongue the whole time. You guys are the only game in town!
Sav been watching dad, then you and mu forever but in this video on your own was great(when it’s all on you your personality shines even more)….not saying to go on your own but great for your development!
I'm 6'4 210 and only hit the ball a maximum of 250 with roll out. Usually around 230 carry. I've been watching your videos and your father's which are helping but I think I need to get back in the gym as well. Before watching the videos I was about 220 carry lol. So I appreciate all the help!
My boyfriend Munashe offers 1:1 speed session coaching as well as 1:1 gym coaching that are all golf specific if ever thats something that interests you! wzdmnmvmt.com/speed-training
Enjoyed the video! You mentioned the feel of throwing the club. Do focus on throwing it in the direction you want the ball to start or throwing it at the target? Same with irons?
Hitting down with my driver has been an issue. This year I'm going to play with longer tees and make it a point to hit up on the ball like you do. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks Savannah. It looks like you straighten your left leg on the backswing then drop your hips about 3-4inches as you swing. (I watched the line of your waistline against the background.) It looks like that little dip of your hips brings your left leg into the swing, providing power. I hope my observations and conclusion are correct.
Sav, great video. How do you get to your right side? In other words, how do you know WHEN it’s time to plant into your right side and throw the ACU to the target? Thanks.
Great video, I’m turning 60 this year 😢, so I’m thinking that I should start some sort of strength training for my Health and golf. I might have to try and copy what you were doing.😁
How do you have your driver set up? Static head loft and sleeve setting? For most people, 1200rpm is going to be uncontrollable, so I dont suggest people aim for this. You need exceptional face control and you need to find the centre of the club face to remove any gearing which you do very well. Congrats on the long drive result while I am here.
had one of my better sets of 30 balls with the driver today that i've had in a long while thanks to watching this last night. Do you or you and your team have a travel/lesson agenda?
How about a video on the shot to the green. When I get a nice in to out driver swing grooved and land a long one in the fairway I proceed to hit it fat or thin !
Great video Savanna, I have always enjoyed your Dad’s videos as well. Maybe I’ve missed it but I don’t remember ever seeing how high you guys tee it. I use 3 1/4 inch tees and keep them as high as I can. Does that sound about right? Thanks. Joe 7:03
Sav, great video and you're all grown up. Can you tell me why a pop the ball up every time and tee it up? So, aiming high for me doesn't work. Also, can you show exercises to increase ball speed??
Thanks! I would say make sure that your ball position is forward of centre so right off your front foot & your club at address should be in the centre of your stance so you are not facing the ball. If you still pop it up after those adjustments, you might just be defaulting to the ball and forgetting about the target. Hope this helps!
Sav - how do you hit 9 degrees up and not hook the ball? I can't seem to hit up more than 2 degrees before I start draw-hooking the ball. And I use a neutral grip !
Hi Savannah. I’m a big fan and I was wondering if you ever considered offering a Golf clinic somewhere down south in an all inclusive resort during this cold season. I am sure I am not the only one with a shared love for golf and a desire to improve their game in a warm climate. You could hold the clinic in the mornings and then we could play a round of golf in the afternoons. I think it would be a lot of fun, and I, for one, would be excited about the possibility of sharing this experience with you. Should you need help organizing, feel free to reach out, this is my cup of tea.
I hit down on my driver around 1 too 2 degrees I get around 260 carry and 20 30 yards of roll out with a 105 mph swing speed and 150mph ball speed im trying to get to 0.0 degrees attack angle in my experience the higher I tee up the ball the more offline it seems to go :( my spin is kinda higher at around 2300 to 2600
You could be hitting your drives so much longer! When you tee the ball up higher just make sure that it doesn’t become your focus throughout your swing. Keep your focus on targets and pick a specific height in the distance like a cloud in the sky or launch it twice the height of the tree line. I always remember a story my dad told me about Mo Norman, he used to say “The more I focus on how high I want to hit my shot, the less crooked it goes”
@Savannah Meyer-Clément thanks for the advice savannah I'll keep that in mind my problem with teeing it up higher when I try is the good ol skyball off the top of the driver I'll have to figure that out keep up the good work on videos I enjoy watching them and I've seen you come along way the past couple of years
Yes makes you swing through the ball to the target! Used Mo Norman swing for a spell but the grips and clubs were not set up properly. His swing was amazing.
50 years playing golf 🏌️♀️ ⛳️ and being a relatively long hitter, I've discovered 1 thing in particular... Strength isn't going to get you there. Long is about conservation of momentum. Feel like you're not hitting at all.
Definitely! Can learn so much from this. Lorena Ochoas swing comes to mind. Brute force can work but it puts too much spin on the ball! I sometimes (ok most of the time drop my driver into the fairway with 1-2' of roll! Very accurate yes but not ideal. Losing 30-50 yrs.
@@nicholasdemetriades9154 Ping drivers do that to me. I mean, it can be nice knowing the ball is going to stop where you want it, but distance comes down. My swing has always spun the ball hard, now I can shallow my arc to almost zero angle of attack.
I am always lining up to the target but because a golf ball is sphere it is always going to have side spin, either to the right or to the left so it is next to impossible to hit a perfectly straight shot. It also helps to shot shape depending on how the hole is laid out, hope this helps! ☺️
Very helpful video. Swinging through, and not at, the ball is key for distance and accuracy. Just one small correction: @5:22 your angle of attack probably isn't 8-12 degrees, that's your launch angle. Angle of attack, while still positive w/driver, should be in the 1-3 degree range.
So glad you found the video helpful! No correction needed though; my angle of attack is always between 8-12 degrees up. My launch is also always between 18-20 degrees. Thats been my average for years and thats how I maximize my distance.
ballspeed 148 and carry almost 280?? thats odd?! Trackman optimised numbers for 148 ballspeed is 247 yards.. this one is 30 yards further.. altitude set at 3000 yards above sealevel? :)
Nope, altitude is sea level 👍 There is a lot more than ball speed that contributes to distance; AOA, launch and spin are huge and I have been able to get the most of of those factors. I have been competing in professional long drive and my yardages in every event average over 300 yards
@@savannahmeyerclement still it isn't possible to achieve almost 280 carry on 148 ballspeed. Physics dictate otherwise i'm afraid. You had 148 ballspeed with 1200 spin, the ball would fall out of the sky even if you launch it at 17 degrees. Your smash is down to 1.42... ineffecient strike. Try hitting it outdoors and measure ditance by laser.
@@sving8530 It is possible, its all officially recorded in the PLDA (Professional Long Drive Association, now known as World Long Drive) from last year. Majority of my set’s averaged over 300 yards 👍

@@karstenosholmsrensen9960 My ball speeds are not consistently 148 lol You saw 2 swings in this video which were off centre hits high on the face. You can stop trying to prove me wrong now 👍
When you say no force in your swing that's patently not true looking at your swing. No force in the arms/forearms/wrists maybe but you have a serious dropping/pivoting action which is creating all your lag, power and the throwing action you feel - stop the video at 3:13 to see the squat position you move into first whilst the club is still coiled. It's very similar to the movements all those long-driver guys are trying, but less severe as they aren't so worried about accuracy. It is much more instructive to watch ladies swings, such as yours, as you can see much more clearly the essense of the swing mechanics. There's a training aid out called The Twitch where the accompanying training videos look to be training the same moves you use. Perhaps you are unaware of how much that is your powerhouse because the motion is so engrained in your muscle memory.
Great video and tips. Thank you. Btw, it’s really impressive to see the progress you and Mu have made over the past couple years. Congratulations to the both of you for your dedication and hard work to continue to improve. It has really paid off. 🏌🏻⛳️

Way to go Savannah! I bet your Dad is so proud!!
You definitely have a knack for teaching.. especially easy to understand "feels" and practical tips. Subbed!
Awesome, thank you!
Hey Sav! It’s Sean I met you guys at the PGA show at the Jumbo Max booth! Just found your channel! Nice video, keep up the great work!

There are so few Golf instructions done by left handers male or female. I like it when I don;t have to reverse everything they say or show.
Thank You!

Tee it high for less spin. Spin is what gives us roll out. So, what is more desirable, more or less spin?
Less spin always, thats what I meant when saying “spin is what gives roll out” I should have added the ideal spin rates being between 1200-2000 rpm
