    Thanks Savannah. It looks like you straighten your left leg on the backswing then drop your hips about 3-4inches as you swing. (I watched the line of your waistline against the background.) It looks like that little dip of your hips brings your left leg into the swing, providing power. I hope my observations and conclusion are correct.

    How do you have your driver set up? Static head loft and sleeve setting? For most people, 1200rpm is going to be uncontrollable, so I dont suggest people aim for this. You need exceptional face control and you need to find the centre of the club face to remove any gearing which you do very well. Congrats on the long drive result while I am here.

      Thanks!
      I would say make sure that your ball position is forward of centre so right off your front foot & your club at address should be in the centre of your stance so you are not facing the ball. If you still pop it up after those adjustments, you might just be defaulting to the ball and forgetting about the target. Hope this helps!

    Hi Savannah. I’m a big fan and I was wondering if you ever considered offering a Golf clinic somewhere down south in an all inclusive resort during this cold season. I am sure I am not the only one with a shared love for golf and a desire to improve their game in a warm climate. You could hold the clinic in the mornings and then we could play a round of golf in the afternoons. I think it would be a lot of fun, and I, for one, would be excited about the possibility of sharing this experience with you. Should you need help organizing, feel free to reach out, this is my cup of tea.

      @savannahmeyerclement  Рік тому +2

      You could be hitting your drives so much longer! When you tee the ball up higher just make sure that it doesn’t become your focus throughout your swing. Keep your focus on targets and pick a specific height in the distance like a cloud in the sky or launch it twice the height of the tree line. I always remember a story my dad told me about Mo Norman, he used to say “The more I focus on how high I want to hit my shot, the less crooked it goes”

    50 years playing golf 🏌️‍♀️ ⛳️ and being a relatively long hitter, I've discovered 1 thing in particular...
    Strength isn't going to get you there.
    Long is about conservation of momentum.
    Feel like you're not hitting at all.

    • @nicholasdemetriades9154
      @nicholasdemetriades9154 Рік тому +1

      Definitely! Can learn so much from this. Lorena Ochoas swing comes to mind. Brute force can work but it puts too much spin on the ball! I sometimes (ok most of the time drop my driver into the fairway with 1-2' of roll! Very accurate yes but not ideal. Losing 30-50 yrs.

    • @cliftonmanley3882
      @cliftonmanley3882 Рік тому

      @@nicholasdemetriades9154 Ping drivers do that to me. I mean, it can be nice knowing the ball is going to stop where you want it, but distance comes down.
      My swing has always spun the ball hard, now I can shallow my arc to almost zero angle of attack.

    Why draw or fade instead of aiming straight to target?

    • @savannahmeyerclement
      @savannahmeyerclement  Рік тому +3

      I am always lining up to the target but because a golf ball is sphere it is always going to have side spin, either to the right or to the left so it is next to impossible to hit a perfectly straight shot. It also helps to shot shape depending on how the hole is laid out, hope this helps! ☺️

    @z-man2343 Рік тому

    Very helpful video. Swinging through, and not at, the ball is key for distance and accuracy. Just one small correction: @5:22 your angle of attack probably isn't 8-12 degrees, that's your launch angle. Angle of attack, while still positive w/driver, should be in the 1-3 degree range.

    • @Ericksonbellgolf

    • @savannahmeyerclement
      @savannahmeyerclement  Рік тому +6

      Nope, altitude is sea level 👍 There is a lot more than ball speed that contributes to distance; AOA, launch and spin are huge and I have been able to get the most of of those factors. I have been competing in professional long drive and my yardages in every event average over 300 yards

    • @sving8530
      @sving8530 Рік тому

      @@savannahmeyerclement still it isn't possible to achieve almost 280 carry on 148 ballspeed. Physics dictate otherwise i'm afraid. You had 148 ballspeed with 1200 spin, the ball would fall out of the sky even if you launch it at 17 degrees. Your smash is down to 1.42... ineffecient strike. When you say no force in your swing that's patently not true looking at your swing. No force in the arms/forearms/wrists maybe but you have a serious dropping/pivoting action which is creating all your lag, power and the throwing action you feel - stop the video at 3:13 to see the squat position you move into first whilst the club is still coiled. It's very similar to the movements all those long-driver guys are trying, but less severe as they aren't so worried about accuracy. It is much more instructive to watch ladies swings, such as yours, as you can see much more clearly the essense of the swing mechanics. There's a training aid out called The Twitch where the accompanying training videos look to be training the same moves you use. Perhaps you are unaware of how much that is your powerhouse because the motion is so engrained in your muscle memory.
