I always enjoyed KOF arcade runs more than most fighters. It's the characters for me. They have much more personality than other characters in fighting games IMO.

His AI has a huge exploit. Igniz always does DP on wakeup if you're jumping at him. So you knock him down then jump over him and his dp will miss. Punish him with a combo that knocks down near you or simply sweep if you don't have one. Rinse and repeat.
He also can't block low so you can keep tripping him just like goodman from neogeo battle collisuem. The guy from XI is harder than igniz for this alone.
By this point, half the teams accept invitations explicitly to investigate what's going on behind the scenes, to stop what's going on, or to further what's going on. The other half need money, are seemingly oblivious to danger/schemes, or both.
@@AverageShotoMain01 I sometimes suspect Andy isn't the brightest bulb. Though to be fair, characters not involved in the main story have a high chance of being treated as comic relief. For KOF XIV, I'd say 9 of the 16 teams were investigating what was going on behind the tournament, trying to stop something (whether it be Verse or just another team), progressing their own story through the tournament, or were outright hired to attend. Two more had prologues that were too vague to decide (Geese, Xanadu). The final five were in it for the prize money or to prove themselves.
Only those who made it in the finals know how shady these KOF tournaments are. In Terry's case, he's aware but love the thrill of fighting so it didn't matter to him.
I'm not gonna lie, seeing Justin struggling in fighting games bosses is something I started to look forward to watch on this website lmao. Great videos Justin keep up the great work
When he was playing KOF 94 and really struggling it's like validation I knew that game was hard as shit no wonder I kept dying. Even the best in the world struggle with that one.
Good to see Justin playing KOF 2001. I like this game :) It has the best version of the stryker system imo. Depending of how many Strykers you choose your character(s) will become stronger, making more damage, having higher stamina and filling the special gauge faster. Plus it is cool to make a bit combo using 3 strykers. I wish KOF 2002 had a more refined version of the stryker system of 2001
Rugal 2002UM's only "hard" part is that he takes tiny dmg, but overall he's easy as fuck i'd have to give the title of not "hardest boss", but actually ONLY hard boss, to O. Rugal 95, any other boss in the entire KoF franchise is an absolute joke
I still found Goentiz far more absurd. He'd input read for days with his soyokaze any time I would push a button. IF you finally got past that and got in with a big super, it would do pidling damage.
I find in this game the ai is not only easy but sometimes buggy. There are simple ways to trick the bosses: Original Zero: play Mai and do her fan throw projectile, If you don’t move after hitting zero he stays still. You can win by time out using this Igniz: just sweep, jump behind him right as he gets up and he’ll try and do that anti air whip move and just as he lands sweep. Rinse and repeat And igniz will NEVER be better than me
To answer your question (5:24). Everyone of them, with the exceptions of a few, have Reason(s) to come back.. over and over again. Whether they be, Obligation (Kyo), Personal Beefs (Kyo > Iori), Investigations (Ikari Team), etc. The Only person that keeps coming back BECAUSE of The "Money" (Being Contracted).. is Yamazaki. Coolest SNK boss ever! even in the story he's OP, he actually defeats the heroes (K's team) and it takes all of the leaders from every team in the game to team up together to take him down.
To me he's the lamest lorewise, same goes for the rest of the NEST saga bosses. If it werent without those supersuits they would be nothing compared to the rest of the bosses. Gameplay and design wise they are pretty cool tho.
It's hilarious how the big plot twist (besides everyone coming back to life) for XIV is that the host wasn't secretly evil or even had ulterior motives.
Back on 2019 If I remember correctly here on our villages one of the arcade machines was this game, most of the buttons of it had problems like delays and not working, people playing KOF and just discovered it was 2001. They cheese this guy using Steamed buns eating character and I remember they make fun of it by putting tower on eyes and spamming those moves and win.
I remember have played the original Arcade release (named Road to Revenge for some odd reason), and players tried not only to beat him, but to ACTUALLY get to fight him (they failed to get the fight to begin with... at least until I did it and they didn't expect the game actually NOT trust the players skills to win with that "Do the best you can" message) it took me a couple of runs but it was funny to see how a more casual player ended up figuring out how to trigger the fight and beat him as well compared to the other players who were more focused on the competitive scene for the most part, I was saw pretty much as their hero for showing the conditions to fight Rugal in KOF 2002 UM (particulary the condition most players fail almost always... and that is that you can ONLY lose up to 3 rounds during the entire Arcade run, lose 4 or more and your run gets banned from fighting Rugal, and the aditional condition for Arcade versions only is that you cannot have a 2nd player challenge you, it will count instantly as a match lost, and the other contidion players fail but not in a frequent way is that you need to defeat any of the default 4 bosses with a DM if you can't win with your 1st character or without losing a round in single play mode... draw game by time or double KO still count as a no round lost if is your match point for single play or your 1st character for that condition, but NOT for the 3 round lost limit).
These two are very easy, very predictable , i think even the 98 one is harder. The "AI" of the one in 02UM is pretty much the same that in 02 but feels harder just because Rugal got buffed to have new combos that the vanilla version tries to do but can't but in 02UM are possible to do (juggling genocide cutter into others)
Igniz was a giant PIA. If I remember correctly I could not beat him with anyone except Mai and I just played cheap. I think it was the jump back air attack. It's been a long time. Your best bet with Igniz is find the cheap solution.
Just do a crouch A (Slow punch) in a distance where you can roll and punish him. After the crouch A, Igniz will react. That's the time you roll and punish him. And..... you're welcome :)
Here's how to cheese loveable Igniz. Choose characters that are normal sized and can jump high(meaning no Goro, Chang, etc.) Dash towards him and jump high. This will make Igniz use his anti-air pretty much all the time. What happens is you jump past him and his anti-air misses you. Punish him with a combo that knocks him down. Repeat as he's getting up.
Rare time for a SNK boss (aside of SVC Chaos Red Arremer (AKA as Firebrand)) to end up with a KO (I'm pretty used to see time overs to be honest), if you do 2002 UM you better get ready for potential failed runs against Rugal (fail to beat him = instant Game Over), plus, you need to complete some few conditions like not losing more than 3 rounds and if you lose a round against any of the other 4 bosses (Krizalid, Clone Zero, Zero or Igniz... as long as you don't lose more than 3 rounds) defeat said boss with a DM with your 2nd or 3rd character (or in single play mode in your match point, if the 1st round in team play or match point in single play as long as you have not lost a round against the boss ends up with Draw by double KO or time over, the game still count it as a no round lose for the no round lost condition vs the boss... but it WILL count the round as lost for the 3 rounds limit).
The day Ive finally been waitin for.😃🤩👊🏾💯💯💯 You're doin a miracle with the KOF content man. And boi am tellin ya Igniz was so frustrating for me as a kid. Until I've beaten him only once. When you play against bosses on KOF2001, choose only one or two characters for team. The proportional damage against bosses fits better.
