Absolutely crazy boss. All of the times i actually managed to defeat him were thanks to having a character with a really, really good leader desperation move.
Well, more like a current gen. platform port, because you could get it back in the day on OG Xbox and Ps2 (the Ps2 version had some of the NeoGeo Battle Coliseum characters as unlockables like Tung Fu Rue, Hotaru, Geese, Mr. BIG and KOF NESTS Saga Kyo, along with the timed unlockables from the Arcade and the bosses... also, speaking of the Ps2 version, it's a shame Sony didn't bother to release the emulated Ps2 version of the game on Ps4/Ps5 at least, leaving that with the not much needed KOF Orochi Saga collection).
I really like KOFXI but the PS2 version that you can play without the tag and leader system. But it's hard for me to get people to play with. And the final boss is just dumb.
Yeah, KOF XI didn't get the justice it deserved, I didn't play it until KOF XIII was released on the arcades, and it was on a friend's Ps2, and it took me a while to actually like it, it was hard for me because of the Tag system (that was also how it worked on KOF 2003) but eventually learned to like it and it's pretty interesting to play, but is nice that the home ports have the classic Team Battle mode as well, if it wasn't for that, my sibling would have never touched the game at all.
Love SNK content and love other FG top players having difficult times with KOF games! So epic and entertaining! Keep it up with the ggs! Hope to have some matches at kof 15 vs you!!!!
Magaki is the boss who makes a really good KOF fighting game into a bullet hell shmup. I picked up this game back when it got its PS2 release and I still drink to forget him.

Kof XI Mukai boss is insane I remember playing that boss on arcade running out of quarters. Then i was able to get the Playstation 2 version and it took me 20+ tries to beat him. Good for you you were able to beat him in shorter amount of tries.
I hate Magaki. He pushes the SNK Boss Syndrome to the limit. I hate the invisible fart projectile he does, along with the pink shyt he fills the screen with. Even has a stupid ass super move on top of it. I beat him once after losing over 100 times and never have afterwards. Still, KOF XI is my fav KOF game. Great video as always, Justin.

Ohhhh Magaki is such a pain in the ass, I used to be able to beat him with Silver by timing the Flying kicks and LDM to go through the gaps. Never knew crossups with Clark were so effective against him. This kind of reminds me of how to cheese Zero in KoF2k.
Not really, he is very easy only. Once he knock down, just roll to his back when he awake, he will do that purple skill. But u roll, timing right, will at his back, then just combo him. Repeat till he dead. That's why he is the easy boss 😂
Yeah right, easy is but to beat Igniz with Kula's sweep, Rugal 98 with Yuri's super knuckles and Goenitz with grabs, you don't need roll or do combos xDD

@@terryforever84 well, Rugal 98 with other characters you can jump back to get away from him and throw a kick or punch, he will probably make a G. Cutter, then you can go and hit him. Igniz has something similar to what you mentioned with Magaki, but jumping, he will do the antiair special move with his whip, then you hit him from behind, but you also have to have a lot of timing. And you can do a normal grab to Goenitz with any character after doing a normal jump to get close to him, maybe he will grab you before, but he doesn't do it many times.
Ah yes, Magaki is my most hated KOF boss ever. He's not necessarily the hardest (I still find 94 Rugal to be the worst), but he was deliberately designed to get on your nerves. On the other hand, Magaki also has the classiest theme of any KOF boss, and Shion is an amazing sub-boss that I hope will come back someday as a playable character. XI is definitely one of my favourites in the series.
I just noticed Justin was playing in arcade and not console setting for this boss, aka the mode where Magaki does way more damage with every move. Plus he didn't use any shift mechanics which are partway key into defeating Magaki to call in or out characters mid combo etc 👀
7:26 you didn't even time him out this time but if you did, it would've been a huge achievement. It's almost impossible to get a timeout win against Magaki. Bosses in KOF XI have a ridiculous advantage when it comes to the timeout judgement system. If you look at the final successful fight, the judgement gauge (the rotating blue/red ring around the clock) never goes rotates left enough to go red. Every single hit the boss does sways the meter far to the right, while your own damage barely shifts it. Losing characters only worsens this problem.
Yeah, getting a time over victory against the single fighters during an arcade mode run is a big achievement to be honest, the judgement system of the game in those fights is actually your worst enemy that you better think like you're fighting KI2/Gold Gargos or MVC3 Galactus on that regard (they always win when the time is over).
As someone who has had to deal with Magaki, I can say for sure command grabs are his bane... if you can get close. Rolls are also an effective way to beat him albeit riskier.

This boss is more like a bullet heck than a fighting game. A really cool fighting game is SNES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters. You should give that a try.
I absolutely LOST IT at Idris. That is just a damn classic right there. I remember Shion, cheap as he was, he was practically a saint when compared to Magaki. The...GREAAAAGHHAETGLHA I'm sorry, I blacked out there for a minute remembering what it took to even beat this game. Nonetheless, this was a spectacular entry. Wish it made its way back on sale.

I used to play this one a lot. The final boss is like a Gradius boss with all those missiles. GREAT boss-theme though, love the sweeping piano style.

This bastard is a very good competitor to take the crown of worst SNK Boss Syndrome from KOF95’s Omega Rugal.
On the pink screen attack, Magaki yells "ME SACANEOU" (portuguese for "screwed me")
