it's so true tough ! I became natural few years ago ( and by that I mean NA-TU-RAL no chemicals on my hair OR skin !) All the shea/cocoa butter and oils and African black soap that i get directly from my family in Africa "stink" because it's the real stuff ! we're so use to perfume chemicals that we forget that all the good stuff usually "stink" ( honestly tough I actually like how it smells now...)
Yes, I love JBCO!!! I use it all the time and add it in my sealers and deep conditioners. it definitely works and I used it on my edges and nape every night. it has made my hair fuller and it has grown so much. I will continue to purchase. TFS
I'm so glad I've found someone that has the same exact curl pattern as me! I've went to target and stocked up on natural hair products! Love your videos!!!!!
The most important application of castor oil will be to take this internally in a regular manner, this one not only to empty the bowels from all the waste deposed there, but especially to cleanse the human body from all poisons and heavy metals (mercury!) via the liver, this one in the following manner: Take regularly early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil and you will be astonished upon the health benefits.
I just big chopped. 11 months transitioning. been natural about 6 days. this oil I have noticed the difference. it's incredible. massage into your scalp every night. you'll see a difference.
FYI: Regular castor oil that can be bought in many stores and is more readily available then its counter part JBCO. Castor oil is a pale yellow color. It's a bit cheaper in price than Jamaican Black Castor oil especially when you buy it in the cold pressed form. Cold pressed castor oil is the oil in its best form as it is not altered by heat or other substances. Instead it is just pressed (exactly what the name sounds like) until the oil comes out of the nut. If you want to make the purest purchase you would need to search and find castor oil in its clearest or lightest form. This is the purest form of the oil that has been filtered to remove the iodine content that gives the oil the yellow tint when it goes through the cold press process. Essentially cold pressed is more beneficial than JBCO because it's pure!
Yes! I unfortunately never seen results from JBCO. I know it works for a lot of people but sadly it did nothing for me. I just bought some organic castor oil, it also says cold pressed on the bottle and just how you mentioned its very clear. It's super thick, thicker than JBCO and much more expensive. I have only used it for a day so far and my hair is sooooo moisturized but I'm using it for growth so we shall see what happens. I have a feeling this is about to be the answer to my hair issues. Im so convinced im ready to stock up on more bottles.
I mix Jamaican Black Castor Oil (I use the Tropic Isle!) with jojoba, Olive, vitamin E, and tea tree (for itchy scalp) oils. I also add an essential oil mix with lemongrass, lavender, sweet orange, rosemary, etc. This helps with the smell and thickness. I apply this to my scalp and edges once a week and use as a sealant when moisturizing my hair. It’s been working well for me.
unknown person "You remind me of a girl that I once knew" Ushers lyrics. your comment somehow put that song in my head and it's been stuck there alllllllll freaking day! thanks a lot! lol jk. no but seriously it's stuck in my head now lol.
The darker it is, the more potent it is, those dark things you see is from the castor beans that is used to create the oil, the oil also has ricinoleic acid which is another reason why it has that strong smell, but, this particular acid has anti fungal and anti inflammatory properties, so yes, it is also excellent for your skin.. But being Jamaican, because of our tropical weather all the time, heat would not work well with that scent so placing it my skin at nights works better for me. I find that adding even a few drops to my lotion also gives you great results.
I bought Jamaican Mango & Lime JBCO with Vitamins A.D.E, it has a light and fruity fragrance. I add about 10 drops of tea tree oil to 1 oz. JBCO, it gives it a stronger, sweeter scent without being overpowering. I love it, but I have to be careful not to use too much on my hair because it I'm afraid it might attract bees when I'm outside. Any essential oil will make it smell better.
Yes! I love JBCO, for my hair, as well. I also use it on my face. Before bed I splash my face with water and apply a generous amount of JBCO while my face is still damp. In the morning I'll take a washcloth soaked with hot water to wipe it off. Then I wash my face as usual. I think the JBCO is great for my skin!!
Don’t be afraid to say that it contributes to your hair growth girl! It’s has for me and I had never believed that any oil could really make your hair grow. My baby 🍼 hairs at the front are now so thick and smooth just like it was when I was little. I’ve now started putting it all throughout my scalp in conjunction with using one of those male regrowing hair brushes (the ones with the blue and red lights). I’m expecting a growth sprout... wish me luck!!! Thanks for your down to earth review as always girl
I loooooooove Jamaican Black Castor Oil! I have a Texture near yours however I suggest wetting your hair, and put the oil directly on the hair, comb two strand twist it up and watch your curls POP.
Yes, Jamaican Black Castor Oil is definitely the bomb. I like it because you can use it on relaxed or natural hair. I want to use it more consistently so I can get the full benefits of it. Your hair is looking so good Megz. Great video!
My mom use to put castor oil in our hair, and I'm in my 40s it was not Jamaican castor oil. My grand mother use to make it. I'm from Dominica West Indies. It does work I have thick natural hair
Dionne B that's sad come to Suriname the one that is made there is only $2 and it is unscented and it seems even thicker. The Jamaican Black castor oil is hella expensive there see how stupid some of my people can be import the expensive one 😂. Sometimes I can't deel with them when it comes to decisions 😫😫
Girllll i have this too its sooo thick and it grew my nape in a day or two like wooow no joke i fully recommend this product specifically bc it organic and certified
Your hair has grown beautifully...when are you going to start rocking your natural hair fully?? Since you did the big chop you still with the straight hair weaves... would love to see u in your natural hair..
Giselle A ohhh ok I ask because there are you tubers on here in videos I seen that say they love their natural hair but all you see is weaves and wigs...
Bxlatina35 Hey, I think she has mentioned also in a previous video that wearing the wigs helps with keeping manipulation of a natural hair to a minimum. I can relate.
Ive found jbco is a real growth oil! It helped regrow out some balding I had and grow out my edges. It grew them out to the point it looks like I have edge control on them. It's also great for preventing matting and tangling at the ends when rocking protective styles like mini twists or braids :D love it!
wow your hair is growing fast. so thick and healthy can't wait to see your hair reach the old length again, it is going to be super beautiful. much thicker this go round. I do use that oil as well, I mix mine with the Doo-gro oil half and half. My hair loves it. love your videos
No lie I just use Jamaican black castor oil two different types the normal original one and the mango and peppermint Jamaican black castor oil it just seems to work for my hair I use it as a hot oil treatment also. Some ladies would use edge control to keep whatever edges left down but I seriously didn't had much after braiding so now my edges are back I just put it on my edges and go... ladies we need to let our edges breathe sometimes to grow but I have 4c hair and my hair is close to my shoulder now and I only big chop last year
I'm late to this product BUT I already see results in my hair. Based on the comments it makes the hair thicker ----- I am here for the thickness. I got 2 huge bottles for $18.00.
Yvette Hi everyone, here is a link where you can buy the Jamaican Castor Oil at affordable prices. Just type "Castor Oil" in the search box. Thank you all. webuyblack.com/?acc=63923f49e5241343aa7acb6a06a751e7
I'm transitioning and my nape was the first to break off so I brought JBCO and it grew back within a few weeks. Now I mix JBCO and coconut oil and oil my scalp once a week.
Yes, Castor Oil (aka L'huile Mascreti in Creole)! Im Haitian and in the islands we use castor oil for absolutely everything including physical ailments, joint pain etc and it is good for your skin as it is for your hair. I absolutely hated it growing because, Yes, it stinks! But it works. And in my hair journey or any journey I find myself reaching for it. Just about every Haitian household has a bottle of this.
Oh my goodness!!! I'm already a fan of the regular castor oil!! I ab-so-lutely love it so I will be trying the extra dark Jamaican for sure. You hair is looks noticeably different!!! Loving it!! Keep doing your videos!!! 👍👍👏
Beautiful Hair and Thank you for the video. I have just begun using the Castor oil a couple months go and have seen some results. But I most definitely will be using as you have suggeted
Hey cutie, I am loving the fro 😍😍😍 and as for black castor oil, I used the haitian black castor oil since i was little and my hair grew but it's too thick. I love thick hair but i didn't want it to make my hair this thick ugh. Oh and don't forget to keep us updated in the natural hair products you've been loving lately such as deep conditioner etc 😘😘😘
Hi Meg! This is my second time watching this video. Don't know if I already commented but I did hit like. Two words to help thicken fine hair strands: NEXXUS DIAMTRESS SHAMPOO. I know about the struggle:) It works!
Hi megz I enjoy your videos. Am natural for three years and now am using 100% pure jbco by shea moisture. I big chopped three times but enjoy using it...keep up the good work..
Thank you Megz, I have been using J black castor oil, I mix it with regular caster oil. If I use it straight it sticks, so I put my leave in (As I am Butter Cream) on my hair and the smell subsides, thank goodness. The Black Castor oil took that dryness I was feeling on my ends, problem solved.
I use that same brand. I know exactly what you mean when you say you mix it with other oils and you like it better. For me, it makes the oil a little heavier, but in a good way. I use it on my scalp, eyelashes and eyebrows and I have seen a difference.
I have very fine hair and it was thinning badly. The regular sunny isle was doing good for me, but I just bought extra dark and I can already feel how much thicker it is.
ran out of my haitian black castor oil and used this and turns out its basically the same thing lol both have the same smell, texture, color, etc. Black castor oil is everything! great for skin, hair, sickness, etc.
hey megz.. if you're trying to thicken your hair.. you should try GNC hair skin and nails.. it doesn't make u break out like nature bounty .. and in a month my hair has gotten soooo thick and I already have quite thick 4a hair. I use that and the JBCO together and man!!!! it's amazing
This last time i used it i put ALOT on my scalp and slept in it over night with a cap as like a deep conditioner. Not a good idea i guess. This was the first time my scalp ever got irritated. It has done wonders since i cut off all my relaxer but now im scared to use it again. Has it ever irritated your scalp?
I love Jamaican black castor oil. however, it made my hair SUUUUUUUPER thick...so thick that I couldn't get a comb through it. I noticed you said that you add other oils to it, if I add more oils to it, will it still make my hair super thick or should it be more manageable?
inspiredxkita Hi! I don't think she can answer this hun because it's more of a trial and error type of situation. It depends on so many things. I think it's just something you'd have to experiment with and find what you like and what works best in your own opinion. Hope that helps. Be Blessed!
you know I hear a lot about the black Jamaican castor oil how does it smell I don't I wouldn't mind using it for hair growth but I just want to know how does it smell because even when I use the regular plain castor oil it does have a little smell to it and I like to put lavender oil in it😙👍
Alexis Nagle oh my😯,..... then I don't think I would use it because I don't even smoke and I certainly don't want to walk around smelling like an ashtray LOL,... I was going to share it with my subscribers as a new product but no thank you I don't want to walk around smelling like an ashtray thank you for letting me know God bless you😊
My hair strands are fine too but I like that because I feel like if my hair is straightened or I have a relaxer look silkier versus my Mom and Grandma had thick hair and I just think that fine hair was easier to manage but I don't know maybe that's just my opinion
I use "Jahaitian Black Castor Oil with Coconut" and it seems to do the job for edges... as used others like tropical isle and other brands and so no results
When youre transitioning and you swear youre not gonna chop till you see the line of demarcation come down to your armpits, then you see this video and start starring at the scissors and your castor oil... Smh..
Girl I can relate...every detangling session I eyeball those clippers. After 2 years natural my total length is at bsl and demarcation is about 4 inches higher. If only relaxed ends could magically turn into natural ends haha
Yes, I saw that they've started adding haircare products within their line for a few years now. I used some of the stuff while relaxed but I think I will revisit now that I'm natural .
The masque is a deep conditioner right? I want the shampoo and conditioner and a leave in conditioner. I need something that's going to clean the hair and my scalp so please help me
So I braided my hair I’m gonna stop using coconut oil and mix some tea tree oil and castor oil is that fine for hair growth I have very very tight curly hiar
I absolutely love how you've been natural in every sense of the word here lately.BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!!!
"When I know something stink I'm like ooh yeah that's that good stuff right there" LOL!!
I might have to get me some of that!!
Yessss
lol you are so right!

Alexia M I found that it worked for me n my sis and we have been using it for almost a year it was worth the money in my opinion
@@bluee_auroraa Heyy alex I would like to know if i worked for U. Please hit me back

when you get it made by ladies in the market in Jamaica (very rare now a days) it is always very dark with a strong nutty smell.
Yes, I love JBCO!!! I use it all the time and add it in my sealers and deep conditioners. it definitely works and I used it on my edges and nape every night. it has made my hair fuller and it has grown so much. I will continue to purchase. TFS

i have used this on my skin at bed time n it seems to reduce the dark spots i got from acne
Ooooh I'm going to try that.
i'll try now
tnx

"The more it stank, the better it works." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!!!! It's true! I use black seed oil and it smells awful. So does JBCO. But the rank stuff works.
Just like meat, the more the smell the delicious the meal lol
Brahim BMZO if your meat smellin rank I think you gotta check if it’s still good lol

Our hair thrives more with castor oil because it’s very similar in consistency to the oil the scalp secretes.
you remind me of miranda Bailey from grey's anatomy...love it ot

i love the feel of jbco but the smell omgsh its like a smoker is sitting on my head. i prefer unsencent. your videos are amazing
kayla andrea where do you get unsencted jbco? i agree with the smell...i mix mine with lavender oil because its so strong
kayla andrea I've never seen an unscented oil. I just mix a little with a lighter oil and add an essential oil.
I bought Jamaican Mango & Lime JBCO with Vitamins A.D.E, it has a light and fruity fragrance. I add about 10 drops of tea tree oil to 1 oz. Ive found jbco is a real growth oil! It helped regrow out some balding I had and grow out my edges. It grew them out to the point it looks like I have edge control on them.
Be Blessed!
How long did it take you of using the jbco to notice any differences
I'm loving your new journey. Your fro is so pretty. 6 monthsin , it'll be down bra strap length. Go, Megz!
Very informative thanks and I love your bubbly personality in this vid 😁♥️
you know I hear a lot about the black Jamaican castor oil how does it smell I don't I wouldn't mind using it for hair growth but I just want to know how does it smell because even when I use the regular plain castor oil it does have a little smell to it and I like to put lavender oil in it😙👍
Sapphire smells like an ash tray
Alexis Nagle oh my😯,..... then I don't think I would use it because I don't even smoke and I certainly don't want to walk around smelling like an ashtray LOL,... I was going to share it with my subscribers as a new product but no thank you I don't want to walk around smelling like an ashtray thank you for letting me know God bless you😊
Sapphire if you mix it with an essential oil it will help lessen or get rid of the smell. i like lavender rosemary n peppermint
Alexis Nagle Oh,....okay 😃 Thx for the tip 😙
the JBCO comes with Lavender and Rosemary and other essencial oil fragrances. I have the lavender one and the smell isn't that bad. lol
As for the skin, it's great for acne and also skin boils.
Take a shot every time she says Jamaican black castor oil
Megz: Um I don't know about that.....I only used it for my hair 😂 Yassss 🙌🏾
My hair strands are fine too but I like that because I feel like if my hair is straightened or I have a relaxer look silkier versus my Mom and Grandma had thick hair and I just think that fine hair was easier to manage but I don't know maybe that's just my opinion
So should I get the extra dark or regular? Which one felt better with better results even if its slightly?
I like it thick ... I use it straight because I have high porosity hair and my strands are coarse
The tropic of isle jbco is really good! But it does have a strong smell to it!
Yes, I like that one too!
I have been waiting on you to do this video since you've been natural.
Hi
I use "Jahaitian Black Castor Oil with Coconut" and it seems to do the job for edges...
as used others like tropical isle and other brands and so no results
I burst out laughing when she said and I am back with another video.
When youre transitioning and you swear youre not gonna chop till you see the line of demarcation come down to your armpits, then you see this video and start starring at the scissors and your castor oil... Smh..
KASH .PHILLIPS how long have been transitioning?
Girl, speak on it. I say the same thing all the time. Not big chopping until that line of demarcation reaches APL.
Girl I can relate...every detangling session I eyeball those clippers. After 2 years natural my total length is at bsl and demarcation is about 4 inches higher. If only relaxed ends could magically turn into natural ends haha
Preach 😂💗
I must be the only one that loves the smell of JBCO 😍😍😍😍
Roadman Onjob gotta be. it stinks. it works tho
its really good megz my grandma used to use it for her hair skin and pain
Megz did you know that Sunny Isle has a JBCO hair masque?? YES GIRL. A hair masque. And it's a 16oz jar.
agendagurl I will be purchasing that...thank you girl
Yes, I saw that they've started adding haircare products within their line for a few years now. I used some of the stuff while relaxed but I think I will revisit now that I'm natural .
Good idea to put it in conditioner and shampoo! I’m gonna do this
How much hair loss do have or shedding, I feel like as I'm transitioning I'm losing so much
Megz, your hair looks amazing hun!
Try using the Jamaican black castor oil like a hot oil treatment and you will get the real benefits. Yes castor oil is good for your skin.
The masque is a deep conditioner right? I want the shampoo and conditioner and a leave in conditioner. I need something that's going to clean the hair and my scalp so please help me
QUESTION PLS ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ why do you SAY IT WILL BURN YOUR HAIR OUT??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m going to buy it and use it once a week tysm ❤️
does it have to be extra dark? because I have the sunny isle original black castor oil
So I braided my hair I’m gonna stop using coconut oil and mix some tea tree oil and castor oil is that fine for hair growth I have very very tight curly hiar
Yes, that is the brand I use. It's the best
They also sell this at giant eagle for those that didn’t know
I use regular Castor oil and I love it along with sweet almond oil.
hey megs with your hair growth journey do you trim your ends or just wash & deep condition
Yessss to that oil. Just got my second bottle BC my hubby uses it on his beard and I use it on my natural hair
