Beiond me why would someone would just want to spark without _wasting_ any gas. If starting a fire, with tinder or something... the flame will do it a ton lot faster. Does that, or any other, have the butane reservoir fully metalic? I found that plastic reservoirs freeze pretty fast and the pressure drops and other plastic parts near the burner tend to melt with prolonged usage. I am kinda looking for that full aluminium, brass, steel and rubber/silicone grommets lighter that I can warm up in the winter by holding it in my hand and wont eventually just melt it's plastics and eject the burner or the flint at some point. Until then, the cheap ones are just great.
I love butane and torch style lighters but for my needs personally the Xikar Scribe burl is what i prefer, it has a clean burning flame similar to normal lighters but works the same as this in some ways. Overall its about the size and length of a normal writing pen hence the name "Scribe", you pull it apart which opens the gas valve, and strike the flint like yours. It also has a pen clip, and with Xikars life time warranty you can't beat it. flint is easy to replace it's the same method as yours. Best for pipe smokers or cigar smokers.
Agreed just stupidly trying to make up excuses to justify a purchase... look I can make it spark with out fuel... are you under the impression that a cheap bic lighter won't send a spark if it's out of fuel? The flint is still there.. as for not wasting fuel which may have been the point you are trying to make but who ever has been like damm if only this lighter didn't make a flame every damm time I sparked it! Also seems like a lot more fuel is being wasted to turn the knob then spark the flint in two diffrent motions then doing it in one like a normal lighter.. if you would have came out and just said hey I bought this lighter because it's neat that would have been fine.. but trying to come up with nonsensical reasons why its better then a normal lighter just came off dumb.
Even if it didn’t really use less butane, that lighter just looks awesome. I would be kinda worried about the dial rotating on its own in the pocket, but since you have it in its own sleeve it shouldn’t really be a problem!
It’s not possible something needs to grab and grip the wheel from both ends and the butane is Loud. Then push and pull the flint wheel a centimeter to strike. The flint wheel springs so you have to press down then strike. But these are dangerous. I have the same one but 2 flames. It’s ridiculous. Unless on low, There’s not much to use it for because it lasts 2 or 3 minutes on high with a full tank. It should have been a tiny bit longer or wider to actually use the ridiculous amount of power. You can use a piezo torch with one big flame and it will last longer because you can turn it on and off super fast. And hold more gas. It’s just cool looking and I can only use it to torch something. Like a perfect self defense weapon. It’s scary powerful.
Hey just for info, David West, uses an old lighter with NO fuel in it, only the wheel and flint, with the lighter still assembled. You actually go the opposite direction than you do using it normally. So technically it does still does work.
i would go with the zippo, can be used without fuel, stone easily changed and scavenged, fuel substitute possible and in survival situation i would use fuel drop by drop (only what i need to get a flame) and save alot of fuel for further use
I guess its the same as if you accidentally lost your lighter, lol...theres nothing wrong with using a $1 knife to cut stuff but the reason people buy knives that are hundreds of dollars is because they are fun and cool and are classier or more capable, sometiems they are not much more capable they are jhust more fun and built better, a match can light a fiure for less than a pl;enny so can a $12,000 solid gold dunhill lighter, its just more fun to use the lighter ;)

@cutlerylover, hi , the brand of the lighter on the video is vector right? but i've tried to find similar one as you show on the video, it seems i couldn't found it on amazon. Could you advise me? thank you.
If you put it in your pocket how you make sure its button won't turn on without control? Losing some gas is not a big problem but if your front pockets full of gas an have explosive in your pocket that may blow your little bro off.
Looks cool. In my experience those refillable butane lighters are a pain to refill and sometimes are impossible to refill. Have you refilled this one yet?
I think you waste more gas in the time it takes between switching the gas on and moving your thumb to strike the lighter than the gas you’d use on a normal lighter when you barely tap the gas button. Also, how often does someone need a spark without a flame?
I won't blame you 30$ are not too much... My zippo has 120$ soo yeah I just love lighters and I can see why you were excited with IT. I hope you enjoy it and that it lasts for ever.
The amount of gas used when you rotate the collar is likely more than whats used up in the cheapo lighter, when you flick the flint. butane torches are good but i think they also blow through gas 3X faster and are difficult to fill the first few times if you have no experience. it still uses a flint, not a negative but useless if its wet like most lighters.

it is just a Fancy lighter! to impress your friends
But if you force down a tight-fitting leather sleeve won't it turn the knurled knob and turn the gas on?
Best for pipe smokers or cigar smokers.
dude, that's a crack torch!!
Jeff,
Just got one in the mail today. Put butane in it, turned the gas on, the flint strikes, but it won't ignite. Anything I'm missing?
Well said
No, you making such a big deal and getting triggered over a goddamn lighter, came off as dumb lol.. Christ..
If u run out of gas in a normal litigated u can still use the sparks to start tinder
So technically it does still does work.
imagine putting char-cloth or some kind of tinder in a gutted bic lighter..
i would go with the zippo, can be used without fuel, stone easily changed and scavenged, fuel substitute possible and in survival situation i would use fuel drop by drop (only what i need to get a flame) and save alot of fuel for further use
a lot is not spelled alot ..
All those lighters are great when new, how is refilling?
I can just imagine the gas running out super quick.
Can the gas be replenished after use?
The concept looks a lil wonky what happens if you accidentally turn the nob but hey if your happy with it that’s all that really matters
I guess its the same as if you accidentally lost your lighter, lol...theres nothing wrong with using a $1 knife to cut stuff but the reason people buy knives that are hundreds of dollars is because they are fun and cool and are classier or more capable, sometiems they are not much more capable they are jhust more fun and built better, a match can light a fiure for less than a pl;enny so can a $12,000 solid gold dunhill lighter, its just more fun to use the lighter ;)
cutlerylover that’s all that matters that your having fun and like what you thanks for the reply and keep pushing out amazing content PA viewer by the way live closer to Hershey
Well if you somehow managed to turn the nob like if it was in your pocket I imagine unless you were deaf that you'd hear that loud s.o.b. Also if you are deaf you'd probably still feel the cold stream of gas spewing from your pocket onto your leg through your pants anyways and realize it's on lol.
@@cutlerylover Those dunhill lighters are so freaking gorgeous. Saw lots of antique dunhill lighters when i was traveling to France. I would've bought one if I would've known people repair them. xD maybe next time
@@blueeyeswhitedragon9839 Okay that's nice idk what I said to receive such an off topic response lol since no one was discussing those kind of lighters. Obviously I realize traditional cheap lighters could do that hence why I knew how to detect that problem if one of these were to do that in your pocket...😏 but thanks for sharing the obvious.
How's this lighter running?
I always carry a Zippo I too have a small collection of them and enjoy them
I have the triple flame version of that lighter. I have lots of lighters which I have collected through the years and this one is the best.
That's no lighter, that's a flame thrower.
no, a torch isnt a flamethrower thats why it is called not a flamethrower
That's no lighter, that's a waste of $28
What gas would you buy to put in this.
Looks really cool Jeff don't listen to people commenting pointless as commenting pointless is pointless 😂
EdD5 i appreciate your response thankyou
about as pointless as that lighter
How has this lighter held up? I have seen mixed review half saying complete crap and half saying very good things.
Hands free lighter, eh? How did that one get past the Special Snowflake Committee on Nerfing Literally Everything.
You buy into the "snowflake" meme then.
It's a lighter, Cameron.
I don't buy snowflakes; they're free. It's a joke Oliver.
!invest 50000
lol
Hands free lighters are dope. I have a Corona that I frequently use as a candle for short durations. It's a soft flame and doesn't overheat due to the design
Also the thing that comes out when you pull out the flint wheel can be used as a poker for pipes
Can you please get a 1080p camera its 2018 man come on, still love your videos though keep it up.
I am not much into lighters except as an emergency fire starting tool if nothing else works. The lighter does look great and must be fantastic for smokers.
I’d lose it the same day I buy it lol
I went with the Yusud knock off on Amazon. $16. It's the exact same lighter. I like it. Fuel window is hard to read.
20 second of content dragged out for over 6 minutes.
Wow. I started the video thinking "... Why am I watching this. I love my Bic and Firesteel" you sure sold me. I love this. Went to the comments to see if people had any logical arguments to not get it. WHOLLY SHIT, THE HATE! so much hate lol. The internet really is cancer. Anyway, thanks for the video. You just made some company $30 lol.
Ronson Jet Blue, $6.00 at Wallgreens.
Unreliable for its price and easy to break, Ronson is the worst lighter brand especially for camping, now if you're heating up your spoon or hitting your pipe its good enough.
@@antispaghettigod1201 I have two Ronson Jet Blue lighters that I've been using for years, they still light every time.
omg just use the freakin matches you get in your mre
Bic mini’s. Most reliable things on earth. So small and useful
Does that fit a bic? Or do you know any that do?
No thanks
How is it refilled?
congratulations you just wasted 30$
why not just get a zippo, you could use any crude fuel with a zippo. you could set it down and use it like a candle or open flame.
He wanted it to fit in the case, that was literally the biggest point of him buying a lighter like that
I have a weird butane lighter that doesn't have the flint wheel, it's built into the cover I guess. It's a very slim lighter, flame starts by opening the cover , same motion as a normal lighter, just not touching a flint ir a button.
Green flame
This is the most poorly designed, unsafe, AND overpriced lighter I've ever seen. It's in last place in all 3 categories. That's almost impressive.
@cutlerylover, hi , the brand of the lighter on the video is vector right? but i've tried to find similar one as you show on the video, it seems i couldn't found it on amazon. Could you advise me? thank you.
Can it be refilled.
Is it refillable though?
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST GEEZ
If you put it in your pocket how you make sure its button won't turn on without control? Losing some gas is not a big problem but if your front pockets full of gas an have explosive in your pocket that may blow your little bro off.
ay is that a Thrunite ti5t? I had one of those. Bought the 2-cell version and gifted the small one to my little sister.
I like this lighter , I think I will buy it. Thanks for the video.
What's your vector victor?
Where can I buy this specific lighter?
Looks cool. In my experience those refillable butane lighters are a pain to refill and sometimes are impossible to refill. Have you refilled this one yet?
yes they arrive empty it filled fine
I think you waste more gas in the time it takes between switching the gas on and moving your thumb to strike the lighter than the gas you’d use on a normal lighter when you barely tap the gas button.
Also, how often does someone need a spark without a flame?
I won't blame you 30$ are not too much... My zippo has 120$ soo yeah I just love lighters and I can see why you were excited with IT. I hope you enjoy it and that it lasts for ever.
How long does it last?
Is it refilable??
Lighter or pocket blowtorch?
i have a triple flame version of this torch same color and style but has cigar punch on bottom but mine is made by huowa
you should look at sarome lighters, I have a slim pipe lighter that I fell in love. The finish is perfect and it never failed to light
The amount of gas used when you rotate the collar is likely more than whats used up in the cheapo lighter, when you flick the flint. butane torches are good but i think they also blow through gas 3X faster and are difficult to fill the first few times if you have no experience. it still uses a flint, not a negative but useless if its wet like most lighters.
what about when you ignite it and then drop it on your carpet?
Sounds loud. Is it? Or just your microphone
