They said the 2020 draft was gonna be a weak draft and it provided Anthony Edwards, Halliburton, Maxey, LaMelo, Bane, Quickley, Vassell, Avdija, Bey, Cole Anthony, and arguably the best perimeter defender in the league in Jaden McDaniels. All great players in the league. History says, when a draft is labeled weak. It’s usually the opposite.
@@slaire7799 wym sneak him in. You obviously didn’t see him play much last year. I ain’t saying he’s gonna alter a franchise. That wasn’t my point. It’s that he’s a solid NBA player.
It's because those weaker drafts aren't as top heavy, and have quality players all over the board, from the lottery to the late second round. We see an amazing prospect with Franchise star potential, and a few other guys with all star potential, and assume thow hole draft is amazing, but it's usually just those top guys, the rest need so much more development.

Zach Edey ceiling is Boban Marjanovic and if you think thats disrespectful just look at Bobi 8 year pro (not talking about outside nba) who played some good minutes in teams like Clippers or Mavs, in Dallas expecially
It kind of is, in the sense that Boban was really effective in limited minutes but didn't have the stamina to play big minutes. Edey played 32 mpg last year, as opposed to "pro-ready" Donovan Clingan only playing 22.5 mpg.(UConn played at a slower pace than Purdue, and Edey played a much larger offensive role) I get that it can be harder for really big guys to play big minutes, but I don't see why he can't consistently play 25-30 minutes a night, especially because there are other guys who play that much while being as slow or slower than he is. He'd only need to be a marginally effective 3-point shooter to be a strictly better Jonas Valenciunas, a player who is in fact a starter and has been able to play 25-30 minutes a night in the league. Jonas if anything is closer to being his floor than his ceiling.
