  • If you have a plantar fasciitis diagnosis, or want to learn how to test for plantar fasciitis, try these 4 plantar fasciitis tests. It may answer your questions on "Is the pain in the bottom of my foot plantar fasciitis?" I use these 4 plantar fascia tests to diagnose plantar fasciitis in my clinic on a weekly basis.
Plantar fasciitis typically causes pain on the bottom of the foot just forward to the calcaneus (heel.) Pain is typically more centered on the inside of the foot and heel as well.
Hallmark symptoms of plantar fasciitis include pain with impact activities like running and jumping, as well as worsening pain when getting out of bed in the morning. It's also usually more bothersome when standing or walking after resting for an extended period of time.
The good news is that plantar fasciitis can be treated successfully in the vast majority of cases without surgery, medications, or steroid shots. In severe cases, these may be an option and can sometimes provide temporary relief.
I always recommend seeing a chiropractor, physical therapist, or podiatrist first so they can diagnose plantar fasciitis and treat it with exercises, stretches, soft tissue therapy like Graston Technique, chiropractic adjustments/manipulation, and/or dry needling.
