      I have sever heel pain and can’t bend my toes back. in the morning I can’t walk it hurts so I walk on the outter part of my feet and soak them in warm water then stretch. My calves cramp almost everyday and are super tight. I use icy hot, ice packs, warm packs, bought better shoes for diabetics even though I’m not diabetic for support. I tape my heel since I work in my feet 10hrs a day. I use insoles and use a brace for planter fasciitis at night toes separators recently and message every day twice a day. I also got a message gun and a shock therapy pen but it hurts so I stopped I can’t handle the shock it gives any advice my heel doesn’t look swollen. M big toe does point inward but I was born that way and my toes look fat because I’m fat but are normal no bunions no gamer toes. I don’t wear high heels for 5 yrs now and I’m 5 feet 210lbs. I also suffer from sciatica pain. I also can’t bend over that’s just too painful and when I stretch I always pull my inner thighs to my private area and end up on pain meds which I really don’t want to be taking. I need help I’m young and feel like I have no hope to this pain. I do go to chiropractor, get messages, and acupuncture. I’m at a lost 😞 I never been able to bend my toes back but recently all this other stuff has happened and I can’t find relief. Please help

      I was always told that my heel spurs occurred because of genetics. My paternal grandmother suffered from them and now I do because I'm a lot like her in many ways. Yet I'm taller than she was, I've had spurs off and on since my late-teens to early 20's, and the spurs/pain has always been in only one foot for me whereas Grandma had them in both feet and eventually wore orthopedic shoes for the rest of her life. She passed away in November 2004 at the age of 86. Alzheimer's disease. I'm 54 and have been suffering from a flare up for the past several weeks. Along with foot and lower leg muscles cramps. I'm 5' 8" and weigh around 187. I don't do sports anymore but I'm off and on my feet daily at my job at a newspaper office in the business office. Thank you for an informative video.

    My notes
    1. Massage plantar fascia
    2. Stretch calves and hamstrings
    3. Use shoes, sandles, slippers with arch support.
    4. Shock wave therapy

    This video has given me 100 X more information than 5 or 6 visits to podiatrist!
    I got hard inserts shaped to my feet that I thought cured my plantar fasciitis for three weeks. Then it turned into the worst pain ever!!! Then, she wanted to do injections. No talk of exercises, explaination of causes etc...
    Thank you!

    Me, I climbed a steep hill and did my own surgery. Was in some pain but not bad for about 3 days. Went to see my podiatrist and he told me I had done my own surgery, so I never had to get surgery done. Pain completely healed and never suffered from it again. 👍👍👍

    Great video! Wish I had seen it 30 years ago. 10 years ago I had to have surgery because my many bone spurs had broken off and shredded my achilles tendon. This caused many months of re-hab & therapy where I learned many of the techniques you have shown here. Unfortunately headed back to the Dr due to pain on the outside of my foot between the ankle bone and my surgery scar, hoping to get this fixed too.

    I'm thinking years and years of foot pain and no relief, well maybe I do have heel spurs. Great presentation with some good tools. To stretch my foot at an angle I made a step stool at 16" x 7" and 8" high. Made the feet at an angle so it can't tip over and I stand next to a wall (that has tension springs) and put the ball of my foot on the back of the stool. Then I just bend my ankle so the heel of my foot hangs down. You can adjust as you like. Works great. Better than the ones you showed btw...

    So I got here because I've been depressed for a long time and as everyone might know. You don't really have the energy to think about every pain you have. I'm 23yo and have had back pain for a few years now. I hate going grocery shopping cause just carrying 3-4 bags from the car to the kitchen gives me back pain. I know I have a hollow foot and have been wearing shoe inserts for years or my knees will hurt. I've been wearing the same pair of indoor slippers for 7 years or something cause they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. And I don't know how my brain just wrote this off, but I've been having pain in the heel of my foot for years and just thought "ok wear slippers, the grounds too hard" now I noticed because my mom caught me cursing that I've been stepping on my little toes because they've started to curl under the next and basically I just realized I gotta go see a doctor. So thank you for letting me know that pain in the heel of your foot is not normal 😂

    Wonderful videos! This Doc is very good! Knowldgeable, current & empathetic. TYVM 4 sharing your expertise. Been living w/ approx 4mm spur on left foot for over a decade. Really appreciate updated info! Im guessing 1/2021 is most recent here. I needed additional stretching ideas, since I do stretches before going to bed, but little insidious bugger always wakes me up! Iʻm also going to seek out your shoe insert recommendations. Orthopedist just wants to cut the plantar fascia: albeit Im always hesitant to have elective surgery
    (Had many, including orthos, so thats likely how spur began to grow.)

    Appreciate you making this video that's chock full of knowledge and application to solve pain. I don't think i have heel spur, however I do believe i have sever pf. Been to 5 foots dr. who claim pain not coming from my feet but other stupid stuff. I going to ask the dr. to order a ultra sound and if not off to my 6th dr. I've even been told what's on the web isn't actually true stuff but in the meantime i'm having all the pain and situations spoken about. My pain goes up my calves and feel just horrible. Just about 4 weeks ago the dr. told me now to wear an orthodontic which now has made my pf worse and he denies it. Thank you knowing its not just text book.

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  2 роки тому

      Wow sorry this has happened to you! Usually in this case I find if the pain comes up the calves, that the orthotic may be too rigid and the flexibility is not there in the muscles to absorb being held straight. Whereas for example a flexible light kid could easily absorb rigid insoles.

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  2 роки тому

      Generally in a case like this I would consider softer insoles while really starting an aggressive pain relief, massage and gentle stretch program combined with softer support, until eventually you can tolerate the more aggressive correction.

    • @888Roe
      @888Roe 2 роки тому

      @@DrTomBiernacki thank you for your reply. I think the leg pain is from poorly made orthotics and un responsive Dr.’s. Appreciate you! 💋💋

    Hi, I just found this video, so I haven't yet rabbit-trailed all your resources...getting ready to right now. Anyway, since I haven't yet watched any of your other videos, I have a question. I have both front and back heel spurs, Achilles' tendonitis, past plantar fasciitis. In January, my podiatrist did surgery on my left foot/lower leg. He removed my rear heal spur, lengthened tendon (or hamstring??). I was booted and non-weightbearing for 6 weeks then weightbearing in a boot for several weeks. After surgery I had issues with lots of nerve pain, and currently, after 8 months my foot and heel are still numb, and some weird issues with nerve pain. My right leg right now has some pretty bad Achilles' tendonitis and I am facing more surgery. I am 64 years old, a retired RN, yes overweight (205 lbs). I am very frustrated. All the pain has caused a very sedentary life and I want to be more active than I am able. I'm going to try the things you recommend in this video. You mostly reference plantar fasciitis, but right now mine is more Achilles' tendonitis. Are the recommendations still the same? Should I second guess a second surgery or would it be a benefit? The first surgery gave me some better range of motion in my left foot but at the expense of all the negative side effects.

    By your 40s, you should be doing arch exercises using a 2×4 and the top of a door 6-7 ft. door. You put your arch on top of the 2×4 and scooch your arch along the edge the 2×4. You can prevent heel spurs.
