How does a cockroach multi-task? Where does an owl go to find clerical work? How do guard dogs cope when their timetables are re-arranged, and why do lab rats fear retirement? Find out what our animal friends really think about life under the hand of man.
Nick Park’s Creature Comforts took the classic documentary style and applied it to the lives of wild animals and pets, matching a cast of clay characters with human voices to charming effect. Originating from Nick’s 1989 Academy Award®-winning short film, Creature Comforts was unique for using unscripted vox-pop interviews with the British public in a stop motion series that has become an Aardman classic.
The success of the short film led to two TV series, which broadcast on ITV, and an iconic series of commercials for the Electricity Board’s ‘Heat Electric’ campaign. Creature Comforts also went across the pond to the USA where the unique format was used once again to tell real-life stories from people in America. The claymation characters portray very human traits and contemplate absurdities of the universe such as, ""Do bald eagles ever feel self-conscious?"" and ""What makes pigs feel sexy?""

The older I get, the more relatable this show gets
RiderNexus: I am with you there and I am 81.British humour at its best.
RiderNexus | I'm only 20, so although I can't relate directly so much, I find these displays of the simple...dullness of real human life quite soothing. Puts all my youthful worries in perspective.
Yeah I definitely understand
@@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth Yes~ This genre is usually called slice-of-life, and it's honestly very therapeutic as such. I do not socialize a lot, so it really does help to just hear some interesting, albeit unrelated conversations. Could even help for those who live remotely or out in the country / back-roads, which is common around in NA
@@kimmyera174 | I very much agree! While it's important not to forget that fiction is often cleaner than reality, slice-of-life as a way to simulate social interaction is genuinely quite helpful! Especially for folks like myself who work from home.
Its the police dog with the twitching eye that always gets me!
Nemosis the denver boot on the police van is funny.
Know how he feels . Got a twitchy meself.
Reminds me of Pixie and Brutus.
I like the touch in the background that the police van has been clamped.
@@geiramk And the carthorse has a parking ticket slapped on its flank!
Fun Fact: The Creature Comforts team contemplated doing an episode about animal testing debates (according to the making-of book for the show) but (wisely) decided to drop it pretty quickly. The bits with the lab rat may be a bit of a throwback to this idea...
Nae a "fun" fact. Stay in school.
Bruh the rat saying "they never ask but im taking several drugs anyways, i AM a clinical trial" took me tf out
Award for ultimate positivity goes to the fishing worm!
The voice is my partners grandad!
@@cooknaris how cool!!
That speech by the guide dog is something to live by
Fabulous 'Pickles' the guide dog is voiced by a lady who is blind irl, so Aardman chose her animal as a tribute to her, which I thought was rather lovely... 😄
My favorite part of the series is the whippet because he’ll be talking and then the race starts and he just runs away
The greyhound cracks me up every time.😂
@tartanspice77. Always have a fondness for the dachshund.
The carthorse has the accent and speech patterns of a good friend,I'm sending it to him.
@tartanspice77 same
That Blackbird's gotta be Estelle. Her talking about being a singer and actress pretty much said it right there (plus Garnet has such a distinct voice in Steven Universe that you can recognize her anywhere. )
Yeah, they include some celebrities in these at times. Not even as cameos or nothin, just the same interviews as the others.
This stuff would probably work well as a podcast interview show today like Hot Ones or something very similar to Midnight Gospel.
@@aymuhspunj at the time that episode aired she wasn’t that well known then compared to now.
The mouse with the ear attached to its back at 2:38 breaks my heart
8:22
King Rat literally says that it's _not_ a human ear at 8:22!
I like the yellow lady dog. She’s got a good attitude and laughs a lot. 😆🐾🐾🐾🐾🐶
That's 'Pickles', the guide dog. 😄
This is the complete opposite of Wallace & Gromit, The Pirates!, Chicken Run, and even Shaun the Sheep! It's so mundane, and yet so comforting.
Wallace and gromit yes chicken run now
Wallace and gromit and Shaun the sheep is awesome
Chicken run sucks
@@julianharris530 nah
@@Jamiroquai_the_third
Best: Wallace and gromit
The owl 🤣🤣🤣🤣with the casual turn
The mice are brilliant, i take so much drugs, i am a clinical trial 😂😂
Has the horse got a parking ticket on his shoulder? 🤣
Yes he has !
Yes!
😂😂😅
Yep!! 🤣🤣🤣
Thé shore horse gets the bus back from the Co op. Classic
For those of us that are older and from different countries that have different English accents it would be so nice to have cc on. This show is wonderful. I love the British (Canadian here)
The ants crack me up and the dog at the race track gets me e everytime.
Same here 😂😅
The set design is just beautiful
I love that you can watch these back several times and pick out new hilarious details!
The mice in the maze are a riot.
The bit where the cockroach talks about the "crazy" chef! XD
The poor unsuspecting Greyhound!😂
The greyhound kills me.
This is so well done.
Loved the greyhound segments. 🤣
...Tactics are very important.
...in a race.
I love the laid back dog. Lovely red sofa.
The one with the racing always scares the shit out of me
I'm always intrigued what animal they would use to animate my voice 😄🤔
I just saw a mouse enter a maze, stage right... with a cloned ear growing on it's back. And there's an ear ring... 🤣
Kids! Always watch to the end before commenting! 😃 "What?" 😂
The German Shepherd Looks Like Preston
I love Creature Comforts
7:41 worm jumpscare lol just softly
I watched this before but didn't notice the police vehicle being clamped lol
Love this series
Interesting to, listening to the perspective of the animals if they really could speak, am sure like our little friends here they surely would have alot to say. I also like what the dog was saying @6:45-6:52 about life and doing what you like etc. So true and so motivating.
Pretty much every animal on earth except dogs and maybe cats would take the human race to the Hague Tribunal if they could speak, and rightly so.
Luv the police dogs 🐕
the blackbird is voiced by Estelle!! omg
Are you serious? Too cool.
I absolutely love the greyhound
6:20 that is 100% correct
Dog be a superhero
Police van is booted. 😂
Every creature comforts video is so great💟
The greyhound. 😂
3:37 bro sprinted
Thank you for uploading this
You're welcome :-)
2:56 wait I don’t understand how that mouse has an ear on its back. How did that happen😂🤣
Famous organ transplant/growth experiment, it was made from cartilage and grown on the back of a mouse. Try googling it.
Rats of nimh
one of the mice interviewed tells us a bit about it right at the end in the credits..!
1:38 I would like a hole Netflix series about him
I always jump when the runner idk animal runs out of the wait jail!
Creature comforts Aardman it’s a fun show from blue pictures television.
The boot on the police van!
Is that cat Karl Pilkington or does everyone in Manchester sound like that
It's got to be Karl Pilkington - no-one else sounds like that!
They've had a few famous people doing voice-overs, to be fair.
I just noticed the white mouse 🐁 has an 👂 on his back. 😧
I can’t remember that.
This is sooo....wonderfully entertaining and funny. The thing about this is some things they say are true. Example: the lab mice. That aside as I said these are funny. Thankyou for putting this content up. Elle. 1:23am and a very cold -8° in Boston Massachusetts right now.
fascinated by this...
Who booted the car😂😂😂
Missed these :)
6:25 If only it were that easy lol
Brilliant
Can you post the clip of the dogs drinking out of the toilet where theyre talking like wine connoisseurs?? Or can someone send me the link??
This one is especially good 👍
Anyone else notice the lab rat with the ear on its back?
Can I just tell you something?- that is NOT a human ear on the back of a mouse, that is one of the most dis-- grotesque misrepresentations that I know; it's a piece of cartilage *shaped* like a human ear, put into an epithelial covering. It's *not* a human ear.
@@sleepCircleit's got a lovely piercing though
I didn’t until I read your comment and had to look again. Weird! Lol. Thank you for that
Lol animals should be speaking
1:53 that is one mean looking dog
bird: you just try to stay calm.. gun: imma ruin this guys whole carrier *gun shot* bird: OOOOOOOOOH GO AWAY! :c
3:53 *Me when I see memes😂😂😂😂*

2:45 i swear that cat is Karl Pilkington
that bird with teeth
The chickens don't look like from Chicken Run
Was this made in 2018 or is it older than that?
it was released in 2003, which means it was in progress in the years 2001-2002

Anyone know what this channel used to be before? Never subbed to this channel, but says I have. They must have bought it off someone.
It's an official part of Aardman's main channel.
planclops I understand that, but I've never subscribed to this channel before. Also, their first video is in 2014, but the channel started in 2006. I presume they bought a channel, and changed the name, vids etc.
Ah, that makes sense. I'm not sure, then. I have been subscribed to this channel for quite a long time. It could be a name change, though.
In case you were still wondering, there was a bug back then when you made this post that subbed and unsubbed people to random channels. If I had to guess, it was some automated process tasked with correcting views and subs that were suspected to be bot activity.
