I bought one about a month ago and I like it! I don't use the electronic head piece though because it's just something else you would need to loosen and twist back when folding it up for storage. I have limited space in my condo so I fold it up and lean it against the wall out of the way when not using it. Being able to fold it up like that between sessions is important to me and that's a feature that I needed. When Costco had it on sale for $500 that was all I needed to take the plunge and buy it. I don't hear any clunking sounds from it like the one you demoed here either. It feels sturdy and reliable to me. I find it easy to set up to use and fold up to store too. If I had more room I would have probably bought a stairmaster instead but this machine works out best for me and the price was impossible to beat!

I bought one and I really like it. I'm dating myself but the electronics remind me of my first gen Nordic Track Ski Machine from the early 90's. I don't use the electronic display as I wear a chest strap to track my workouts anyway. Mine does not make that noise. It sounds like the flywheel is hitting something. The unit is solid where it needs to be and I don't have a bunch of room for a full size stair climber. It perfectly fits my situation.

Does it feel like you're actually climbing stairs or on a stair machine?

You can change the handle setting when you change the incline.
I have one and no noise on mine. Yes it’s not easy to change or move and the resistance is kind of clunky.
Having said that it’s a good workout for the money

Nice review! I want to get a stairmill, but the only ones I would like to get are super pricey like Stairmasters. While this is a nice budget option, it’s not like a commercial type machine. Would love to see you guys review the STEPR

Good to know! We also just got a stepper from bells of steel that I'm curious about! Will hopefully be able to do some testing and reviews on them soon! - Linds

Yeah, it’s not the best designed machine, but I love that I can fold it up and store it in my small apartment. Mine actually came with the flywheel disconnected. After some tinkering I was finally able to get the resistance knob to actually work. Never any weird noises though, and def a solid workout on it.

I am glad you've had a good experience with yours! There are some great things about it, I just couldn't get over the noise that kept coming from the machine we had! - Linds

Weird noises is a GGRE special feature. The assault runner uses four AA batteries too.

That is true and good point! I don't know why I just can't get behind batteries for a big machine!! - Linds
