    Couldn't be more correct, stick lie is as important, if not more important than stick curve

    Had the TMP1. I absolutely loved it for 2 games. Blade durability was an issue.

      Hey there thanks for the comment. Not sure how much of my video you watched, but mine did break under warranty too. I thought it was a better stick than the price they were charging. I have a feeling the durability was a fluke. I know a number of people who’ve had this stick since it came out and haven’t had an issues with it.

      Had the tmp1 too. It lasted a few games for me, but broke in the blade also. Loved it while it lasted, but the blade is definitely lacking durability

      @@wakepics Thanks for the comment! Yeah, it was a bummer about that stick. I wish it lasted longer but nothing beats ccm at this point and in my opinion.

    This stick is gaining traction everywhere. Sherwood got a winner and more that point it out is good! Need more competition with better pricing

      Yes, I'm not sure about the comments on your channel, but it seems like people are coming out of the woodwork having owned one or two of these. All positive comments.

    i really was looking forward to trying out this stick in the local shops but none of them carry any sherwood sticks at all

      Yeah it seems almost impossible to find anywhere without ordering one blind. I know I kinda criticized the stick a bit but as long as you keep in mind the stuff I touched on during my video, you shouldn’t have any surprises. Also, I do really think the durability thing was a one-off situation. I don’t know of anyone else who has one that’s had any issues. Of course I only know three other people besides myself who use this stick.

    I have one of these and the rekker. Slightly prefer the rekker, but this stick made me buy the rekker to try the low kick. Love both.

      Nice! How would you rate the Rekker against a Trigger? Or would you compare it to something else?

      @@mongillohockey I've never used a trigger. It's only been in the last couple years I've shot enough to tell a difference (I played goalie for 25 years, then decided to skate out).

    I bought a ccm ft5 over the sherwood code TMP pro. I have used the ccm jetspeeds over the last several years. have you tried out the ccm ft5 version out? I see you own the ccm ft5 pro already.

    • @mongillohockey
      @mongillohockey  Рік тому +1

      Hey there. No I actually haven’t tried the non pro version for the FT5. I can’t imagine there’s too much of a difference but you never know. I’ve been surprised before. I think the Sherwood wins on price and blade feel IF you like a damp blade feel. The FT5 pro wins on most other things. I just don’t know where the regular FT5 falls into the mix. I did just buy an ASV pro supertacks and I’ve used it once. I’ll review that soon.

    How often did you use it between purchase and warranty claim? avg ice slots per week?

    • @mongillohockey
      @mongillohockey  Рік тому

      I only used it between 2-3 times per week. I have a heavy wrister and know how to load a stick so I tend to put a lot of pressure on stick blades. Someone who prefers mini clappers or quick release won’t put as much wear and tear on a stick. That said, after filming this video, it was discovered what actually caused the stick failure. Someone slashed the top of my blade and it actually put a small hole that you could visually see into. It was composite material rattling around. This means that I can’t knock the stick for durability. That could’ve happened to any stick.

    TMP pro vs Rekker Legend Pro?

    • @mongillohockey
      @mongillohockey  Рік тому +1

      I haven’t used the Legend yet, but you can check out my buddy Justin’s review from the Beer League Bum Hockey Reviews channel to get his input. That said, I can weigh in on the TMP at least. If you want the best hybrid kick stick on the market go with the Jetspeed FT6 pro or FTGhost. If cost is a factor, nothing beats the Code TMP. Same likely goes for the low kick users. The Trigger 7 and 8 pro are the best low kick sticks out there. But if cost is a factor, I’d bet the Legend can’t be beat. Hope that helps.

    • @aidanmoore622
      @aidanmoore622 Рік тому

      @@mongillohockey with the rekker legend pro being a “duofire” low kick, do you think the duofire makes it similar to the hybrid kick of the TMP or the rekker legend pro remains to be classified as low kick even with its duofire feature

    • @mongillohockey
      @mongillohockey  Рік тому +1

      @@aidanmoore622 It’s a low kick. There’s some marketing words in there, but it’s still in the low kick family.

    • @mongillohockey
      @mongillohockey  Рік тому

      @@aidanmoore622 No problem! I wish I could give you more details, but I’m pretty confident that if you like low kick sticks and saving money, the Legend is a great option. Here’s one note about Sherwood curves that you might be aware of. Most guys use a P28 curve now, but if you’re a P92 guy like me, Sherwood’s P92 curve is a lie 5 whereas every other stick manufacturer uses a lie 6 for their P92. If you’re under 6’ tall or skate bent over you’ll love the lie 5 in the Sherwood P92.
