Regarding how prostock sticks don't have any pentagon/trapezoid shafts, it's common for NHLers to use older models "dressed as" a current model that the maker wants to advertise.

Yes, that’s exactly right. A lot of folks are thrown off by that, which is why I bring it up in my videos. The re painted sticks sometimes point buyers in the wrong direction.

I've used the vapor line for the last 10 years and switched to the trigger 7 pro and now 8 pro. Definingly more durable, better feel, and better release and control. Also maintains that fresh pop feel much longer. I even started to ditch the Bauer equipment for CCMs as well. All of it just seems to be made better with a better design in my opinion.

You’re not kidding. I think Bauer is going through a tough patch with regard to their protective and even some of their sticks. I haven’t used the Proto R yet, but the Hyperlite (1 and 2) were fails and the Agent was just okay and had questionable durability. CCM is just winning right now and all around. That said, Sherwood sticks and the Pro Stock Hockey Sticks guy are the only ones I trust right now.

True and Warrior are falling to the bottom. CCM and Bauer will always be at the top, and Sherwood is randomly on an upswing.

That seems to be the trend right now. There was a time when Warrior and True had some good stuff, but it’s been a minute. I think Bauer sticks have been a little hit and miss lately. That said, I think the Proto R is new and refreshing. Not sure if you ever used the Nexus 2N pro, but it’s an improvement on that. It’s actually not an updated Sync. I’m almost due for a new stick and I’m considering that, an FT6 pro or Trigger 8 pro.

Yes, we’ve both been really happy with what Sherwood has brought to the market lately. Thanks for checking out the video!

While interesting, don't forget that this is a highly subjective and definitely non scientific approach to rating hockey sticks (for instance, fattigue during a long testing session). In order to get true unbiased results, a mechanical device should be used, much like the Iron Byron used to test golf irons and drivers. As for durability, there's definitely a lot of value from these videos, and Justin does a great job at testing the sticks during numerous games.

Hey there thanks for the comment. Yeah, the only real scientific testing going on is within the R&D department of each manufacturer. There’s definitely no hockey related hockey channels doing it that I can tell. That said and at the end of the day, each model of stick and brand has created their own reputation around performance and durability. The goal isn’t really to provide objective data, it’s to provide some info and personal feedback so people can make better decisions on how to spend their money. Right now, CCM seems to be the overall best in all categories. Honestly, I wish it was Bauer since I loved the Nexus line, but the durability and performance isn’t there anymore.

Anders, how are ya! we also were just messing around ;) Mostly wanted Chris to see what he thought of PRO sticks performance vs everything we had. We werent actually testing sticks like we normally would ;)

@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews yeah, totally get it and it's awsome you guys teaming up on videos and content like this. Since we're on a roll to discredit the obvious manipulated content from well known "hockkeyz influenzerz", I just thought it was important to point out that it's not a scientific method and the results are just that, a highly subjective oppinion - except for the durability, which basically is a matter of using the stick for a minimum number of hours in relatively comparable situations.
Our Raccoons team participated in the HCA CUP (Hans Christian Andersen, the famous fairy tales author from Denmark) and managed 4th out of 12 teams with just 6 forwards and 3 backs, bent ribs (me, high on pain killers) and fractured fingers. We almost made the finals, but an unnamed back unfortunately gave a goal away (again me) .. so yeah ;)

@@andersborum9267 we know next time we shall have some other ideas for testing. We through this at the end of the profile video filming,
Nice! Sounds like a crazy time, look like you fight hard and almost made it!
