This song means so much to me. A few years ago I was on 4chan and happened across a thread of a guy saying he was going to kill him self. Myself and a few other people in the thread convinced him to livestream so we could communicate with him better and try to talk him down. This was 4chan, mind you so it was uncommon to see this instead of people just telling him to just do it. He told us we wouldn’t be able to talk him down. That he already had it planned. He asked us if there were any songs we wanted him to play and I suggested Altered Course. He ended up crying and telling us his reasons, which I won’t state here but were obviously very intense. He made a discord before turning off the stream, which he was pretty active in for a while. Haven’t heard from him in over a year now but I truly hope he is doing well and got his life turned around.
I love it when musicians can just jam out and feed off each other like this. Ive had the pleasure of doing this with some friends (not nearly as good) and man if you think seeing and hearing it is moving, playing it and feeling it is an emotion I can't even begin to describe.
On the first half with distortion I imagine the sun rising over a mountain then scorching everyone the light touches, then in the second clean tone part they're sailing in a longship in a dark tunnel in the afterlife to reach a destination at the end when the outro rings out the last time. Speaking of the studio version, that is, but this is badass
I tried to record them live in Ohio and a band "manger" shut me down. I had to restrain myself from knocking him out, he was a huge asshole. Why dont you just be happy you got to work with this band and have one of your recording on a fucking DVD ISIS released. By the way, I asked Aaron about that, and he was shocked when I told him what happened.

Damn this is sad, thank you for sharing the story, and thank you for trying to save the guy, cheers!
I was at that concert...changed the way I felt about music forever. Best concert ever.
I wasn´t in that concert.... but this album changed the way i felt about music forever.
Aaron Harris has the best snare sound hands down

I feel you!
One of my absolute favorite Isis songs!
Miss these guys been lucky to see them live, playing oceanic full at the koko in London was amazing
perfection.
Absolutely fucking beautiful! Got goosebumps all over my body. One of the best bands EVER!
I love the bass, i love these guys!
definitely one of my fav bass players ever. He really stands out in ISIS and really brings melody and layering to th table. Incredible style as well.
Wasnt it Tools bassist who played on this song on the album?
@@schlooonginator1227 both did. Chancellor’s in the liner notes as noise and extra bass.
Is this heaven?

Trance, I'll go with that...
One of the best bands to ever walk this planet.
miss you guys
Impressive. I was wondering if they could capture the atmospheric epicness of this song out of a studio and they did.
best choice when u drive midnight
That's how I fell in love with this track
NP dude and couldn't agree more. This song speaks to me in so many ways.. So much that I listen to it as a daily ritual!
Do you still?
So yeah, my funeral song.
Funny, I told a few people the same thing years back.
I'm thinking the same
Perfect song to end a show on.
Amazing last show Troubadour 2010 with JAKOB!!! Good times.
If I ever form a band, we're covering this.
Fuck, this really gave me chills
Who is "Man in the box 22". I recorded this. I have never heard of him. I didn't have my watermark put on my work. Why should he take credit?
yes, not cool @ManInTheBox22
Well, you got to experience this incredible moment and they only got to view it on a video. So in the end I think you come out tops anyway.

Wow that was intense, holy shit. Wish I knew what gear Aaron has on that stand that he keeps messing with
Looks like some kind of CDJ to me
So... what am I supposed to listen to after that?
Seeing Turner play a PRS is weird.
no one builds tracks and drops them off quite like ISIS...
1111
the crowd's either in trance, or not having much fun
Trance
They've checked out of this life and into the music ♡
