Thanks for this, I will be doing this tomorrow, and yours was the perfect test run. Torque specs on the main bolt are the only thing I will be looking up.
Very quick and information is good, but would of really heard what the torque was for the bolts. I've even removed the speed sensor, and replace it. And, the dust shield on the back. Even, the back and bolts to the axle, all 3-4" and added new bolts. Still adding new bolts to every piece, also. Thanks for easy way to see what needs to be done.
Probably 2-3 minutes or so. You can use any strong thin tapered tool like a thin chisel, or screwdriver. There’s also a tool called a bearing splitter that is designed to work well to pull off the race. If all else fails cut the race off.
Thank you so much this video help me a lot to change my rear wheel bearing on a vw new beetle 2006 the o oye issue was the end when I took off the bearing the small part got stock on It I took the whole piece and took it to the mechanic but besides that everything when super good
I been having rear brake issues that are driving me nuts on ths 2002 beetle. Been through new hoses/rotors/calipers/pads/3 master cylinders and still not right. I think I'm going to go ahead and do the bearings because the wheels don't seem to spin freely even when brake isn't applied. Can't hurt on ths old a car anyway. mine didn't even have caps :O
A good hub bearing kit will come with a new dust cap. Ask to check the box before purchase or check photos closely if buying online. Beck Arnley 051-6234 Hub and Bearing Assembly comes as a complete kit, for example.
What size is the socket to remove the axle nut?
So I'm finally getting ready to start on mine again and rewatching this. Did you forget wheel bearing grease?

No problem. Sorry about not including torque specs. I don’t know them.
Liked and subscribed, 2000 Beetle. How long did you heat? What did you use to Get behind the race?

Same for 2000 Cabrio?
Yes it should be very similar.
