My 7yr old daughter has long red fine curly hair, we've never trimmed it so I relate to everything you were talking about, I'll be upset to take off so much but her curls really are suffering I think you're spot on with rehab for curls I'm actually kinda excited thank you so much ❣️
Ugh, it's only been five weeks, and just this wash day, they are starting to fall, which only usually happens day 2 after wash day. Last cut was my first curly cut in a long time, so maybe I'm in growing pains. Back story: my longtime hairdresser thought I had "lost" my curl even though the bottom always curled. So, the top layer is looking like it is falling out faster like it did before. I do have an appointment for next week, so maybe I just have to bite the bullet and get it cut every five weeks. You're so lucky you can go three months!
I just found your channel and am loving the content! I noticed you live in VA. I know it's a big state, but can you plug your stylist? I'm always hoping to find someone who can work with my hair. Thanks
So I'm curious is that the sign you need a trim, when the ends of your hair look straighter instead of curling up? My hair does that, it's irritating! I think mine is a combo of there being a lot of it, it's fine, there's waves to it as well as curls.
Hi Gena. Love your videos! We have very similar hair...it is so refreshing to hear someone who speaks my language and understands! I do have a question though. The back of my hair tends to curl and shrink up almost against my scalp while the sides and front have a nice length and curl to them. I have had this dilemma forever and no stylist can understand it and how to help me. I can never seem to grow my hair past my shoulders because of it. I always tell them to leave that part longer and they do but it still tends to shrink up shorter than the front and sides of my hair. I’ve considered trying to just straighten that part just to get it to grow beyond my shoulders but my stylist said she wouldn’t do that. Any suggestions or thoughts about that? TIA
I can definitely relate! My hair has a tighter curl towards the back of my head. So even when it grows out in the front and sides, the back takes a long time to catch up! -Krystal
Triplet Petite how do you have the patience to let it catch up? I get to a point where I can’t stand it anymore and I just chop it off to match the front. All that work down the drain...😞
Are your breakages better or not. I think i am breaking from scrunching cos the shredding looks like breakage than shedding like that old vid you showed. Low pos - big chop 3 months ago. Dont want to chop and better healthy hair. Scrunching is not a solution but 'Begging Hands' aposed to a scrunch will save your hair. Joe
Cos i see your hair more stringy and choppy in general over the vids. Like your, and mine too more, clumps are less - and like the frizz is cos of it despite water use in styling! Joe
I'm due my wet cut next week, my stylist point cuts/snips up into the ends when she's finishing off, so it's best just to blunt cut? Yes feel the shedding too!!
If you have low density hair like mine, I would definitely opt for a blunt cut, straight across. Cutting into the hair makes it appear thinner on the ends.
Pretty unnecessary comment, but you can change the playback speed in the settings of the video. More helpful than leaving weird ass comments about something a person can’t change about themselves :)

Thank you for the video!! 🤗👍 Based on this info, I definitely need a trim, so time to go to Appt w/ hair stylist! 🏃♀️
Getting my first cut on Monday I’m so excited. Do you suggest styling before the cut or going in just washed and air dried
Your hair came out beautiful your curls looks amazing 😉
Thank you!
Please scrunch out the crunch !
Not everyone likes to do that btw

Thanks for sharing this Gena.

@@smilemtb2 It's difficult! I usually end up trimming the front/sides of my hair and trying to let the back grow out. It's definitely a long process!🙃
You are the best love your videos it help me a lot
Aw thanks so much!
I have my first appointment on Tuesday! Do I put product in it or just go in with clean, dry natural hair?
That’s great! I would go in with product in and your hair dried. That way they can see how your hair normally looks when it’s natural and styled 😊

When getting your hair cut, do you have your stylist cut it while its wet or dry.
I get mine cut wet, which is how most stylists will cut it unless you get a DevaCut.

You look gorgeous on your hair ❤️ gena❤️❤️
Thank you, yr always great 😊
The bottoms of my curls are curlier than at the root what does that mean

@@GenaMarie thank you ❤️😁
How to avoid the big chop...thumb nail has at least a 6 inch chop mark. 🤣
I only got a small trim. It just looks shorter due to curl shrinkage.
You don't have to do a big chop.
I like your videos but You talk way too fast ,,lol sry
