You have perfectly described how my hair acts once it reaches a certain length.

That last one is exactly the problem I have. I used a gelatine treatment yesterday because me hair feels very soft and won’t hold curls, the treatment did help a bit but I think I need a cut 🥲

i think the straighter hair at top is where u put ur hair up. i got similar hair at top i put it up alot and im assuming it is coz when we put our hair up the hair at top is stretched out constantly...thats why having it loose helps but u cant have in loose when u exercising or moving about alot ...so dont really know how to fix it

Mine is like that because the texture of the hair is different, I have quite a number of different curl patterns and it’s always, my whole life, been tighter underneath and looser on top 😃 it’s just the natural curl pattern. I don’t put mine up much tbh

What do you use to add protein to your hair?

I tend to use the curlsmith strength line or the Curlkeeper leave in conditioner 😃 if I needed a strong protein boost I would do a gelatin treatment
