Eric Stuart - Yuri Hyuga Veronica Taylor - Alice Elliot, Margarete Gertrude Zelle Maddie Blaustein - Li Zhuzhen, Colonel Ben Hyuga, Agent Soji, Train Guards Scottie Ray - Keith Valentine, Albert Simon Wayne Grayson - Halley Brankett James Carter Cathcart - Roger Bacon Kayzie Rogers - Sea Mother
Yuri Hyuga is voiced by Ted Lewis, not Eric Stuart. I can only guess that Stuart was credited under "Voice Acting" for being the producer and/or VO director at the recording studio (TAJ Productions) used for the game's English audio track.
Still the best intro for a game, the way Yuri is introduced is just pure badass. On top of that, still the best game in history still my favorite after years. I would pay millions too have this remastered.
Remastered will not happen anytime soon. I think I will regret if I say this now because I don't want to give out information that is not official and we probably won't hear from it in 2 years from now. Someone send a message to Aruze Group (Universal Entertainment Corporation) for 3 years ago. They didn't replied back about licensing out Shadow Hearts to other publishers. They have been sitting on Koudelka/Shadow Hearts franchise since they moved out from video games business in early 2007 when they closed down Nautilus. They are a company focusing on pachinko business. They have been a pachinko company since 1999 and SNK had bad history with them. SIE was in talks with Aruze Group for more than three years ago. SIEJ's new president, Atsushi Morita, was promoted in Aug 2014. Before he joined SIEJ he has worked on several places in business and one of them is Digital Media Lab where many Shadow Hearts II (Covenant) staff came from when they joined a bigger Sacnoth which changed to Nautilus. Morita-san was manager on the first Shadow Hearts and business wise he had contacts at Aruze Group. That's what we knew in 2015. Last year there was a secret report on SIE has created a new studio for PS5 and there could be more studios behind the scenes but this was the one the person heard about. One of the new studios is working on a PS5 game which looks as good if not better than FF Spirits Within and Advent Children movie. Uncanny valley is going to be unnoticed in the first gen of PS5 (2021). Then I look around for concept art and Miyako Kato will be the closest to FF. It's not RaySpace though, that is a late PS4 gen title. And I hope they announce it at TGA, they can't sit on that game any longer. What ever Machida said about his new game it's going to get a western adaptation of it. They can't focus on other things now, all energy goes into the new game which seems to be very important to succeed. It's getting tougher for a mid-sized company to stay independent and make AAA today. If Machida would work for a company again he wants creative freedom and make his games with darker vision. (Last gen he was a freelancer like Miyako Kato). However, features from Shadow Hearts is very niche. Judgement Ring system is turn-based and he can't make that anymore in a competitive market. Other RPGs he refers to action based has wider audience. The challenge will be how they are going to evolve the gameplay system without limitations.
@@TheGoldenPS1 thank you for that information. It means a lot you spent the time to inform me on all that. It sucks hearing there is a chance we will never get another shadow hearts remaster, best thing we can do is honor the memories of it.
The part that begins at 13:31 is on of my favorite moments in a videogame. The composition and music are magnificent. I was not expecting that. What a gem. They just don't make videogames like this one anymore.
Unpopular opinion, but I actually like the voice acting in this game. It's not "Performance of the Year" incredible or anything, but decent nonetheless. And there are a couple of especially good performances.
Hear, hear! Easily one of the most immersive, inventive and incouragable games I have ever known. And I was given the first Shadow Hearts free with a copy of Resident Evil 4... I might have never known.
Ive played this game so much i worn out the cd badly lol. Ive played this more then i did played any other games ive owned, even kingdom hearts. I wish they would have this set on ps4.
You know i always forget that Yuri can put his limps back together i guess it's one of the results of having a graveyard filled with monster souls in your soul.
I played this game when it first came out and there's parts that I do remember, but there also seem to be parts missing...... Guess I'll just have to get my old games back out
Heh a little revisit to shadow hearts. Personally (Ik this is unpopular) but the voice acting was okay! I thought Alice and Margarete and Albert were especially good. Fun fact tho: Keith’s voice actor also voiced Gilbert in Shadow Hearts From the New World 😁
The good ending is more of an additional secret as it takes some effort with the masks to get that. The prequel Koudelka also had 3 endings where it's only based on the good ending where James makes Koudelka pregnant during that time. For those who have never played Koudelka are clueless about Koudelka, Halley and Roger Bacon.
Sgt Kryzo actually the director said himself that the bad is Canon yes but the good in Covent is too bad good then good in the first so sh1 both endings are canon
15:36 and on is comedic ART beutiful shot of an evangelion tier existential nuke going off followed swiftly by Roger Bacon waving lasily in the air with the worse american-doing-british voice-acting ever accomplished "i believe i shall return to london and have myself a spot of tea" DEAD 💀 -AND THEN HIS GOOFY EVIL LAUGH CUT OFF WITH A HOMER SIMPSON "DOH" RIGHT BEFORE HE LEAVES SO GOOOD🎇💦💦💦🤣

Absolutely agree with all of this. My sister and I are replaying this game again right now, for the umpteenth time. Still love it so, so much. :-)
Not a remaster, but a spiritual sequel called Penny Blood is in the works, we'll have to see how it shakes out
This is my favorite game I have ever played. The story was spectacular and the gameplay was f#cking awesome.
SensationEye i sadly played this when I was a kid....yeaaaah, I liked dark stuff as a kid

16:13 had me cracking up when I first played SH

I share the same opinion! Although I think Alice’s was very fitting her cutscenes were great!
@@jacksmith4006 Agreed! Hard to go wrong with Veronica Taylor.
16:20 to 16:56
Amazing voice acting!
Veronica Taylor is a damn fine actress.
If I won the lottery, I would pay Japan to make an anime of this story.
I've been thinking this for years! The only thing is I think it would've been best as an amine around the early 2000s.
Thank you soooo much for uploading this in HQ.
Hear, hear! Easily one of the most immersive, inventive and incouragable games I have ever known. And I was given the first Shadow Hearts free with a copy of Resident Evil 4... I might have never known.
I'm amazed at how Veronica Taylor elevates every production shes a part of.
Ive played this game so much i worn out the cd badly lol. Ive played this more then i did played any other games ive owned, even kingdom hearts. I wish they would have this set on ps4.
3:36 the cutscene creeps me out each time I see it. No matter if I'm either playing it or watching a let's play of it
Would love to have heard the dialog re-recorded with the Shadow Hearts Covenant cast.
You know i always forget that Yuri can put his limps back together i guess it's one of the results of having a graveyard filled with monster souls in your soul.
I'm so glad the VA changed in Covenant. lol dat quality voice acting.
I thought Alice was fine in this one.
Shloooop. Shlooop. Splat.

Pokemon VAs are at it again. :B
They should redo this with other VA and better quality cutscenes. But that's just me.
Alice and Margarete were fine I thought
I don’t know how to feel about a third of the cutscene time is a spooky ghost story
Is Roger bacon the shredder?
uh... i only played sh covenant (without even knowing anymore how i got this game) but i thought alice died in the first one?
Yes she did
so who is talking @ the end?
Alice, SH1 can be a good/bad ending where Aice lives or died, but SH convenant is based on the bad ending where shes dead.
The good ending is more of an additional secret as it takes some effort with the masks to get that.
