Nah i consider sh1 and sh2 to be better for me. With sh3 having even more refined gameplay out of all of them. But storywise sh1 and sh3 for me. Plus there's points in sh2, where it felt rushed for me. And during the end, i think they started to rush thru the game.
🤔 I wonder, does this mean that technically if you get the first ending- where Yuri is back waiting for the train- can you play shadow hearts again( the first game) and get the best ending- does that bring it back full circle to making the good ending of the first game the canon ending?
Basically the bad ending of the first one was the real ending. Then this sequel is basically him resetting the timeline at the end and replays the first shadow hearts but with the good ending this time. He knows how to save Alice this time around. So yes after all the events, the good ending of the first game is the real one.
Yeah sh2 literally makes the good ending of sh1 be the actual canon ending. Since you're sending yuri back in time to before the point of things going down hill. It's why Yuri and Alice aren't in the 3rd shadow hearts. Because they are off in the world going on their own adventurers. Helping people out along the way. It's something people didn't like about the 3rd one. With there being a new mc and fmc. But it makes sense storywise. It's why it makes me sad others didn't really give sh3 a chance. x. x It would have been nice if there was a sh4, with bringing back past characters. But sadly that won't happen. Due to the rights of the games being held by a company who doesn't make games anymore. x. x Only makes gambling machines. x. x
Call me crazy but...i honestly think that the "bad ending" of this game is probably the better one of the two endings, sure, Yuri's soul is erased, but he says so himself, he had accepted that and was happy with living a peaceful life and finally embrace the happiness that was lost to him since Alice's death, he comes to terms with his destiny and will get to live a peaceful and happier life, making his story go full circle, at least that's what I believe.
I dunno, I feel the good ending was better. I may be viewing it wrong but he "dies", his soul is free then because of his prayer it is sent back in time into his old body as if he just woke up from a long nap (Like Roger mentions during the attempt to revive Alice) and with the knowledge of what will happen and how to save her.
Du vergisst etwas, Yuri befindet sich in dem mit einem Zauber ausgestatteten Schiff. Dieser besagte "trag die Seele der Toten über die Pforten der Zeit". Das heißt, Yuri muste erst sterben damit seine Seele durch die Zeit zu dem Punkt zurück könnte, bevor er Alice getroffen hat. honestly, the mistletoe curse is not that bad, they said he will be just shell, no emotion, no memories, no will. but as seen on this ending, its nothing but amnesia that you cant recover. he still have emotion (by the way he speaks) he can make new memories, and basic knowledge (language, common sense. etc) are still intact. its sad for us players who knows everything about Yuri, but to Yur himselfi, not so much, its a fresh start and he can still find new happiness. the real bad ending, is having Roger Bacon as your dad.

The way I see it, both endings are neither completely good nor bad. They're kind of what we would call bittersweet. The first ending shows thst Yuri has to fight his war all over again, struggling through all the hardships to ensure a future with Alice, and we are left to ponder whether he succeeded on this second chance or not. So in a way, this ending is rather open. The second one, though, is more definite. Like Yuri said, his adventure comes to an end at last, and although he is now but a blank state with no memories, it isn't necessarily a completely bad thing. He is freed from his painful past, and none of the things that he had lost will come back to haunt him again. And specifically choosing to be with Roger - a powerful, immortal magician and a father figure, despite how eccentric or pervy he is, pretty much guarantees Yuri "the rest of his life in peace" that he spoke of (provided that the Second World War that happened just 6 years later didn't disturb him, that is).
@@caoduynguyenvuong3016 how I see it is that the good ending is the best. Since he went back to the start and restarted his journey is what yuri wanted. I like to believe that the good ending in the second game is canon, and that the both endings of the first game are canon. The first game's bad ending leads to the second game's good ending which then leads to the first game's good ending now that he knows how to change things to save Alice.

I should accept the good ending for what it is and probably do not question it further but I do not see how it can lead to SH1 good ending. He knows everything about Albert and his true enemy, he has no fears inside to be haunted by the masks or Fox Face and he also knows about Dehuai and would go "nah ah" at the idea of blowing up half of Shanghai by accident. And so on. Yuri would be completely in tune with himself instead of the mess he was in SH1 for some time. Then in the end SH2 never happens again and Karin never becomes his mom so would that delete Yuri eventually? lmao
The first one is actually an excuse to canonize the good ending of the first Shadow Heart: Yuri goes back at the beginning of that game and play all the story doig what he must do to save Alice and live happily with her
thank goodness i never played the 2nd shadow hearts cause i would had have to break my tv lol. I dont like how they ended it on both endings. smh sorry
I find bad ending to be better than the good one. Good ending implicates too much with its time travel stuff. Yuri can't fix events of the first game because otherwise events of Covenant wouldn't have happened, and as a result Karin wouldn't have travelled to the past. Good ending really messes with the plot.
Actually that's the point, the good canon ending reverses the bad ending of sh1. And that means it never happened. Which mean the timeline of sh2, isn't part of the main timeline. And sh3 confirms that, since yuri and alice aren't around. And are off going on their adventures, helping out people. Like they wanted to do and mentioned in sh1. Otherwise Yuri would have been living with roger, as a new person. Being taken care of him by him. Plus it was confirmed by people who worked on the game, that the good ending is now the canon ending of sh1. The karin stuff could be just something they rushed and messed up on or that karin is just a remainder of that old timeline and the only thing left from it. I'm thinking it was something that was rushed. There's parts of the story that seem rushed when i played thru the game other times.
@@gohanangered9650 Changes in timeline will affect Yuri's existence. Karin is supposed to be Yuri's mother. If the events of Covenant don't happen, Karin won't travel to past and, as the result, won't give birth to Yuri, meaning he will disappear (or create some sort of time paradox, depending on intentions of developers). Furthermore, FtNW confirms events of Covenant - the game references Malice outbreak at Apoina Tower, one of the key events in Covenant, which directly proves that games happen in the same timeline. So I can't agree with you here. To me it seems, that developers just didn't properly think out endings, before naming something canon. Probably that's why next game in the series was supposed to be a prequel - Nautilus just had no idea how to continue this story mess and decided to abandon it altogether.
@@user-qk3su2kd2g That game isn't apart of the main timeline. Mainly because it was confirmed that yuri successfully went back in time and saved alice.
