I have a new theory of Prof. Sakharov Being a rookie in SoC and Expert in Clear Sky.
PSI-Waves gave him Dementia or Altzimers. He works Day in Day Out in the Psi-field. The reason he is not zombified is because he has a HIGH IQ and Strong Mind.
I like this theory very much, it makes sense and would also explain why he does not recognise Strelok. Thanks for sharing the idea !

I'd just like to Point out that father Valerian did die in Clear Sky, his group was attacked by mutants in Red Forest near the space anomalty tank
It is true that his corpse can be found there, but he is still well alive in the cordon at the same time. That is because there was supposed to be a plot point where the space anomalies created copies of stalkers, but the idea was scrapped. The fact that you can find his corpse while he is still alive is most likely an oversight of the developpers who forgot to remove it.

One more detail, Space time anomalies like the one above the bridge in cordon ceased all together in SoC, however portals in the CNPP are available at both CS and SoC, in CoP there’s also one at the burn farm in Zaton

I think it was a secret, rather friendly mutual deal, since Duty IS either former military,
or still active, but as a ghost detachment, all declared MIA, unbound from official military bureaucracy. (HUGE help, believe me...)
The base moving for Duty and the Military was also an absolute win-win for both.
The army got a fortified foothold in the Zone, deeper than the Cordon, with a direct, relatively safe route to the Yantar bunker.
Duty got a position that can be defended indefinitely with barely any effort (gates, narrow passageways, many rooftop positions and even a tall tower, with good coverage of the area), a better supply route with a trading post under their control, where they can recruit more dudes (that are also at least experienced enough to reach Rostok on their own).
Awesome video. The changes happened in the Zone between these games are somewhat subtle, and instead of an NPC telling the player about all these details, the player is left free to observe the environment in both games and fill the blanks themselves. And I'm sure that's one of the reasons why I love the STALKER series.
Yes, the player has to figure out a lot by himself, and that makes it very immersive and interesting.

This is just typical problem of every prequel game. Everything looks entirely different than in its continuation, like when you compare CS's faction bases with how they look in SoC. There's no chance all that equipment from Neutral Base would just disappear (including truck and tractor wrecks) in one year, even if Stalker faction got disbanded back into loners with no common goal. The same goes for train depot in Garbage, Buildings in Dark Valley and many more. Hell, even metal fence around Sakharov's bunker got repaired so there was only one entrance, despite that they probably got no support from anyone all that time.

I really like you talk about Clear Sky a fair bit. I've been playing it for the first time and I am really liking it. I don't get why people hates it so much.

Clear Sky is the game that got me into the series. When I played SoC I understood why people would have been disappointed with Clear Sky, but if it wasnt for me playing Clear Sky, I would never be here, or playing Anomaly

2:17 the last blowout that happened previous to SoC was the one that caught Strelok and the Clear Sky members at the finale of Clear Sky. I don't think more than a few days passed since then, otherwise Strelok would be dead.

Fun fact, sometimes you can actually find father valerians corpse in the red forest in clear sky, so it's possible that he canonically dies in clear sky before the end of the game
Yes, you can find his corpse, but at the same time he is still alive in the Cordon. That's because this corpse is a remnent of a cut concept where the Zone would have created copies of stalkers. In the end the idea was scrapped from the game, but this small detail remains.

Here is a tip for recording nice shots in Clear Sky;
1. You can remove the HUD when you're in 'demo_record 1' and mash the backspace button a few times.
2. You can re-enable POV weapon model after clicking 'Show weapon' quick saving and reloading the current save. That way you don't get the HUD interface appearing and you could pretend you're in the POV of STALKER in-person.

I think the error in the dates in the PDA regarding Agroprom , is most likely an error, and the dates should have been in April instead. Another theory is that the Devs did not anticipate that the player would reach Agroprom this fast. But 'i think that the dates were supposed to be in April, but was not corrected before release (or in the patches).

Explanation for why Sidorovich was bald in Clear Sky, he had to shave his head after some rookie brought lice into the village, it grew back by the time of SoC :D
I remember founding father valerian's body in clear sky in the red forest, came back to cordon and found out he was alive but dead in the other map (he was dead among other loners)
Yes, this is a remnant of a cut plot point that the developpers somehow left in the game. In an old version of Clear Sky, the big emission was supposed to have created "copies" of certain stalkers.

So there was another Freedom leader between Chechov and Lukash. Micluha. He tooked the group, but got lost near brain scorcher. After you disable it, you can ask freedom fighters in Red Forest and Pripyat about it, and they will reply: "Micluha has been found!"

I'm actually playing clear sky rn and the bandits didn't disband they actually did plan to kick freedom out of their base and occupy it (i don't remember exactly who said it either the trader or the mechanic) but one of them said that they have plans for that and probably yoga was too stupid to do that so borov took over and did that
Alright, interesting to know. I guess I missed some important dialogue here and there.
The bandits were getting pushed out eventually by the Loners and Duty. Borov was probably the smarter one and made a deal with Freedom to buy their Dark Valley base with the stolen money from all the robberies they committed.
The equipment Freedom has, is much better on average in SoC. No more AKs and with experienced stalkers as their lowest rank and some higher ranks having new GP37s and exoskeletons. Freedom acquired a new base at Army Warehouses much deeper into the zone so they needed money to purchase more and better weaponry to defend it.
I have never played clear sky but I have played SoC, CoP and Anomaly and so far Im addicted

How does Professor Sakharov get food and water when Stalkers don't want to go there?
The science team of Sakharov is an official mission into the Zone, unlike stalkers who stay in the Zone illegally, so I'm pretty sure they regularly receive supplies from official sources. There is an helipad on the roof of the bunker, most likely the military makes an helicopter delivery now and then.
Clear sky released only one year after. So I believe the may had a lot of clear sky features but they removed them because the couldn't fix the bugs or the had a specific release date and they were forced or the didn't have the budget

Yes, it is possible. In reality, we don't know what happened to them. If we consider that emissions simply kill people, they probably just died. But it's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. after all, so the mystery remains.
Actually there was not Chekov's stash in Pripyat. The was second Freedom's leader, Mikluha, who survived in the center of the Zone until Strelok urned off the Scorge. And Freedom moved to the military basement and left the base at the Dark Valley (bandits didn't kick them out of there).

They where not as good as the bandits and could not adapted as fast and since most of the leaders and men died they disappeared in shadow of chernobyl
Renegades are a game mechanic faction more than anything else, bandits that the player can fight in the start of the game without the "actual" bandits being hostile later on. They have absolutely no lore weight

I think the theory of lebedev being part of c con is right because I have my theories of my own to support this, As we remember when we take down streloks psy protection the zone acts up and sends out of powerful emission taking everyone down like it got pissed or something, well I think the c con wanted to lure strelok for him to be part of the c con to stabilize the zone, we noticed that the zone had a lot of emissions lately during clear sky meaning, they needed someone to help stabilize the zone but lebedev though the zone was angry because someone got inside the center, no like he said, there were emissions before this meaning the event s of clear sky the zone was in it's critical mass.
Soo in the battle of CNPP everyone got nocked out and strelok was drastically wounded in the process, mentally and physically and the c con saw him unfit to be part of it, but they noticed one person who had the same idea of stabilizing the zone and that was lebedev and plus the special treatment thing also adds up. And Soo after clear sky the zone was swept clean and stabilized in the process.

Lebedev was already a part of the "Group" when they first formed (weapons development if I remember right)..
I sincerely believe that piece of shit was an evil manipulator who used every CS member around him including Scar the idiot.. so that he could reclaim his former position in c-con (maybe even more than that).. so yeah, in my head cannon, he is the hologram we see at the end of SOC..

Well it's arguable, but I can definitely understand why you would write that. Although both games are pretty good :)
@@anomalousdugout9557 The mods for CS are superior. For example, no mods exist to correct the weapons in SoC. Charging handles, ejection ports and selector switches on the incorrect side are stuck wrong on SoC. CS also runs smoother (tested on three devices) even with mods correcting weapons. You could also argue there's more gameplay with CS and the inventory system was improved.
@@doomsday5286 CoP runs the smoothest but doesn't "feel" like STALKER as much in my opinion. At least not in the beginning. CS runs better than SoC and has mods to correct the weapons being mirrored. SoC, although being the oldest, can't run on my laptop even on lowest settings whereas CS and CoP run between 55-75 FPS on low/medium for me.
@@doomsday5286 Yea, CoP feels more like just a shooter vs the other two but it is the smoothest to run.
