The entire arg is a metaphor for grief and the process of moving on from loss. There are 3 characters, being Ell Ben and Archie. One day Ell ends up killing themself, leaving Ben and Archie with the guilt and grief that it may have been their fault. Throughout the arg they've been being chased by an unrelenting monster, being the Raven. The Raven represents their grief coming to haunt them (as it never physically attacks them) After running away for the whole time, we realize that Ben and Archie are two very different characters. In "Changes" Archie says to Ben that "we don't make the changes, changes make us" This quote divides the two characters. Archie being the one who makes changes, (this is reflected by something later in the story) meanwhile Ben is the one who let's the changes make him. (Also reflected later) At the very end of the story, the pov shifts to Archie, as Ben asks him the question "It's midnight, in a raging Thunderstorm. You have nothing around. No trees, no buildings, just an empty field. What would you do?" This question shows the difference between the two characters based on their answers. When Ben asks this Archie gets confused and upset, and results to insulting Ben. He doesn't know what it supposed to mean. This is because Archie tries and makes changes, and when he is faced with nothing he doesn't know what to do with himself, leading to anger and confusion. But when Ben is faced with the question, he answers differently. He lets the changes make him, so instead of being like Archie and getting mad when he is faced with nothing. He simply says "I'd Dance" It's an absolute genius arg, which hits really deep for something being made in minecraft. Also this may be completely wrong but I feel like Ben disappearing at the end doesn't represent his death, but instead him moving on from the grief. As he leaves Archie behind stuck with the grief that he cannot let go.
@@windws7137 Yes. That, or Ben killed himself and Archie continued forward unlike Ben with Ell where he locked himself away from everyone. Or he also killed himself and this is just a really sad story about a chain of suicides.
When the narrator started speaking in first person it just clicked, i wasn't watching the video but when i looked back, the POV changes from Ben's to Archie's and i was just there being stunned.
I can't believe it but this IS EXACTLY what i waited for so long... A disguised analysis video of an ARG revealed to be PART OF THE SAME ARG. The twist at the end shifts so much about this whole video.
@@Zeemyth holy shit dude i just went through your videos (4 so far) and you're literally the dream channel of this concept. While I still think this one hits much better with it's twist, I liked the shipwrecks one, I'm excited to see everything else rn. I accidentally watched the farlands thinking all parts are unrelated only to find out more and more references of previous videos in that one as i was going chronologically. I'm now really wondering if this basically like prequel of the whole thing connected to the overall story with backrooms or if same house Ben2fr and first video are just neat references and not continuing story of it.
I sorta get it, it’s about loss, self blame, and the struggle to move on, right? The raven represents the hanging guilt of losing someone, Ell in this case. Ben loses himself in this, but Archie moves on. Archie loses Ben one way or another, and then he starts to blame himself too. Minecraft and the unnatural stuff going on isn’t meant to be face value, but to be taken as metaphor/representative of the themes.
Yes, But I don't interpret Ben vanishing as him losing himself. When Ben poses that question to Archie at the end, the same one posed to him by Ell, the point is when faced with something unstoppable, what do you do? If we take Archie's biased perspective at face value and assume Ben can't handle it and loses himself, then his answer would be something nihilistic and self loathing, but it's not. HIS answer is that he'd dance. Ben vanishing is him finally growing up. Archie refuses to. He wants to live in the past - figuratively reincarnating over and over in the form of rewatching these videos, and ultimately uploading them to the Ben2fr channel.
In addition to this point, I would also like to bring something else up that may be coincidental. The raven's name. It reminds me of the Edgar Allen Poe poem of the same name. Its story is about the death of a woman related to the protagonist in an unclarified way. Just a neat little tidbit I wanted to add.
Subtle but I really liked the change from "it rains out there" to "it reigns out there". mc is shifting from stating the obvious weather conditions to addressing now the figure, showing the authority of 'it' outside, how it 'reigns' over everything and leaves mc little room to be alone and out from its controlling demeanour. Very clever.
@@Zeemyth this video is so well made, the editing, the story, the work is absolutely insane, you earned a sub, and you being Archie was a interesting take, + now that the vids over can u tell me, what happened to Ben? What’s the story really about?
Honestly, when I realized that Archiet's voice was just a changed Zeemyth voice, I thought, "Huh, did you think it was unnoticeable?". But when I got to the end of the video, I understood... It wasn't supposed to be "Unnoticeable"...
I also noticed how ben was way more open then ell had ever been we don’t know why ell doesn’t talk to ben but ben talks to arch because he’s been in his position before and his disappearance was not expected by him he just wanted answers
That transition between 3rd person narrating of a freaky Web series to the inner monologue of losing not 1 but 2 people very dear to you and facing having to accept it was phenomenal! Great fucking work man!
"I'd dance" and "We will, one day." genuinely made me emotional your story telling skills are absolutely incredible the amount of skill it takes to weave such an investing story like this is phenomenal. The cut to irl footage was skin crawling the way we see from Archies perspective as the narration changes perspectives and its revealed. The topic of losing freinds and coping and changing all inside a video game. Managing to tell such a compelling story hats off to you ZeeMyth absolutely incredible work
@@maxphilippai get it and the line does genuinely kinda creep me out but it is also sort of cheesey as hell. i think that can be a good thing in horror stuff though, id much rather horror media be on the verge of being cheesey or over the top rather than playing it safe all the time

Can I just say that I *really* like how you're using the classic tropes ("my friend disappeared", creepy minecraft manifesting into real life, the whole thing feeling like a metaphor etc etc), but like as part of the ARG, self-awarely. I'm pretty sure this is connected to a greater mythology you've been constructing within this channel (there seem to be several distinct viewpoints, maybe real, maybe just metaphorically representing different philosophies, of the concepts each of your series point towards), and it's actually incredible how good you are at creating so many different styles of telling a story - it's like seeing a sculpture, a drawing of the sculpture, a photo of the sculpture, and a 3D computer model of the sculpture. Each built with a different medium and means of operation in mind, but all fundamentally displaying the same idea, just from different angles.
This video reminds me of my own experience with House of Leaves (which, as with much of your fantastic work, I can see traces of here as well) - at first, it was terrifying, and then it was devastatingly sad. I hope Ben2Fr found peace, and as much as it seems they didn't, I hope Ell did too.
@@ah-469 Basically this video has been made by a guy (Archie) looking for his missing friend who went missing while looking for a different missing friend and this video has pretty much just been the guy putting together videos to see if there was anything he missed.
Insanely huge brain move to make an analysis video about your own project (which is also part of said project) in a world where analysis videos get 10x the views the series they are analysing do.
I started to tell towards the end that this wasn't about some random Minecraft horror, but that this was about grief. Grief that I know quite well. I was a very lonely child. I have an older sister but we're just too far away in age that we can never connect. I Minecraft through her, but she never wanted to spend time with me so I used it as a coping mechanism. Through the game I met a lot of people. My world widened and I found a glimpse of what it's like to have friends, even a family. My best friend was someone I had never met before. Even though we had never seen each other in person, being online made us always accessible. We could always hop on the game or talk no matter where we were. The thing I was never ready for was something I'd never feared: growing up. I never thought that one day we suddenly would become people of our own, without needing an online identity to feel.. full. Complete. So when the day came that we all just had to.. move on, I couldn't accept it. I wasn't full or complete. I was still lonely. I searched for days. Months. I searched and searched, with message after message. I stayed in that server we had in hopes he'd one day come back. Eventually the messages never went through. He had disappeared and I was left with nothing. I was angry for so long. Why did he leave? Why was I not enough for him anymore? Why was I still so alone in such a wide world? I eventually found peace. I stopped asking those questions. I stopped looking. Sometimes the grief still haunts me, but I've found a life outside of it. I think a lot of us are grown up now. We have jobs and futures ahead of us. We have found more to life than games and severs. I still have an online presence, for those friends that never slipped through the cracks. But I also made sure my life is full in every aspect I could make it. I don't know what happened to him but I like to think he found peace too in whatever he is or whatever he's doing. You don't have to take away anything from my words, but in some very odd way this video has helped me find a bit more closure. Sean, if you're still out there, or even if you're not, those really were the good old days
@@lemocoffee not just lighting - the lack of hunger bar, full-block chests, and pretty much all the other textures suggest a version way older than the first one to contain editable books. it's pretty neat
I got an Essay *Theory* here of what this is all about. I think this is a story about a friend who committed suicide or died. Think about it, why would a friend just moving away cause such stress on their minds? Expecially causing both of them to get existential like that and think about the afterlife. Ben likely feels guilty because he saw so much how ell and her family was likely super disfunctional and he couldn't do anything about it. The sudden disappearance of Ell could represent how the death suddenly happened. Probably even worse if their last conversation was an argument of some kind. Archie probably kinda blames Ben but ultimately understands how he's feeling. The Raven is likely a representation of that guilt. Ravens are usually metaphors and symbols for death, guilt, regret, sorrow and all of the above. Guilt and regret follows Ben and he can't escape it or face it. The whole, "It doesn't move when I look at it" is extremely metaphorical about regret. That conversation Archie had about falling into a different plane of existence until you are remade is very interesting with the end there. Both fall through the tunnels and into a "void". Archie gets mad and suddenly Ben vanishes. I can only wonder if Ben either also killed himself or vanished off the metaphorical grid. Considering the whole, "I hope he finds what he's looking for" I'm guessing the latter. The tunnels are also no doubt extremely metaphorical. "We can't talk in this place". "Stick to the left". My biggest guess is that these tunnels are representative of feeling trapped and feeling like your in a cycle of self tormant. A sort of, "I can't talk about how I truly feel". Even the bed going missing is likely a major symbol of Ben not able to sleep over the suicide. The number 7 is also *extremely* symbolic in a lot of things. It's generally seen as a 'divine' number. Representing God, the afterlife and even peace. I mean, even look at the descriptions. Even the one of this video itself, "We will one day". We will one day find the peace we need. Ultimately. Take care of those around you, we are all struggling and someone could just need you to reach out. Even if you don't know how to say it or how to say your feelings. A simple 'I need help' can stop such horrible things from happening. It can help protect against a visit from the Raven.
Holy crap. I never understand how people can get these things out of these videos, but after reading an explanation, it makes a lot of sense now. Thats a really great theory
You were most likely indicating this but most likely Ben had committed suicide as well, the raven being a representation of guilt constantly chased him, never letting him rest, he couldn’t sleep because of “raven”, knowing it was always chasing him. I’d like to think that Archie digging them deeper has something to do with getting deeper and deeper down this rabbit hole to the point of suicide, in the video where Ben visits Ellie’s house, going off the point Ellie maybe didn’t have the best family could be why the house was so dirty and messy, the reason the video paused at those steps could be because Ellies body was there? now to be fair i have no hope for that last theory because it’s so far fetched to the point where I’m just yapping, but I’m just adding my thoughts here to try and get to the bottom of this arg. (EDIT: okay I literally just posted this comment but I can’t get this arg off my mind sooo, you mentioned this I think but before Eli’s died ben was probably arguing with her, Ben probably had a mix of guilt from losing his friend (if they were friends and from the fact that Ben had been arguing with her before she died, never getting to apologize or anything, which may explain why Ben occasionally types “sorry” befire deleting it in reunion, okay, I think I’m done here now, I’ll add any more thoughts on this if I think of any.)
The funniest part about this is knowing Archie is narrating this and watching the part where he talks about how he's incredibly smart when it comes to the details of this game because he knows about chunk trails, because in retrospect, he is literally taking time out of the video to meticulously explain to the viewer how smart he perceives himself as for literally no reason.
@@Need4funs the creator of the video IS Archie. Archie is played by the creator. This video, In-universe, is made BY Archie, not as part of an ARG, but as part of a documentary about his missing friends. Archie is the narrator for the entire video.

Dude, the sudden shift to archies perspective and into first person was so fucking cool. "The only connection 'I' see is to ells username" also showing the only possible way he could know the viewpoint is being the author, straight back to "some way for ben to read into archie" as he genuinely gets frustrated at the situation before him for a moment, then the panic to why hes angry, and then, its over, it happened.
god this was so clever i was like "dang this is an actually freaky arg they are doing a great job concealing whatever this thing is" then out of nowhere it slowly started changing overtime to the point to where the footage literally swaps over and then you start narrating in 1st person, it completely caught me off-guard, good work man
immediately noticed how at 0:35, the food in his furnace is stacked despite this clearly being pre beta 1.8, showing already that something is wrong with his world, then the book and quill, in combination with this, he's sprint jumping despite a lack of hunger, and that theres tall grass despite him being in an alpha or infdev version of minecraft (shown by the grass texture) and something that i see is how the textures almost seem like something from vanilla tweaks or re-indev, and prior to beta 1.8, the only meat was fish and pork chops that looked like steak, which is incredibly weird, before even the 5 minute mark, im already piling information into this comment.
I love how he stops commentating during intense moments or quicks turn ben does, along with the bg music stopping. Really helps give the feel that *something* is off.
this was such a good ARG. I honestly got emotional at the end; this was so well made. and by going through some of the comments just made it sadder since the thought that ben and ell going 'missing' could be a metaphor for suicide. The most heartbreaking thing about this is that with the phrases "I'd dance" and "we will, one day" is archie saying they will meet again one day in the afterlife when it's time for archie to go 'missing'. and another thing about the so called 'raven' monster that follows ben and archie (that I haven't seen yet in the comments) is that ravens are the symbol for death so this whole-time ben was trying to live on, essentially, for ell and try not to let the death thoughts get to him but in the end, he gave up, and Archie in the end almost gave up but decided to live on to tell bens and ells story so people won't forget them. That was my little rant about what I got from this saddening ARG.
I read a lot of comments and I came to this conclusion. The question that Ben asked Archie (which he couldn't answer) was like Ben saying "if you already knew that death would be upon you, what would you do?" Ben says to Archie that He'd dance. Meaning that he'd take up the option full face. From what I can understand as a short summary, this is a story about 3 friends. Ell, Ben and Archie. Ell past away due to suicide, either by an abusive family or harsh environment as seen in their broken down house. The hallways under Ell's house is a representation of her going back and forth, feeling the same depressed feeling over and over again. She tried and hoped that Ben would understand, telling him to not speak within the hallways. For some reason, she couldnt tell him how she felt, nor did she want to burden her friend. When she realized that Ben couldnt understand her (because he started talking) she left. And that was the last time Ben saw her. Ben then became guilty. Guilty of the fact that he had done something wrong. Guilty that it was him who was the final reason that gave Ell the push to end it all. What happened next is what we have seen in this series. The random structures, the weirdly placed torches, even the raven that followed were all physical manifestations of Ben's guilt. And Just like guilt, it can never physically hurt you, but it mentally destroy you. The Raven was acceptance. If he faced the Raven head on, maybe he couldve changed. But he ran. He ran and ran, and the guilt became even more profound. When Archie came back, he tried to talk sense into Ben. He tried to give him a solution that he should change himself and not allow environmental or others things change who he is. But how can you fix something that is broken beyond repair? Its not like we wanted to live like this. We played with the cards we got. We win or lose. And Ell lost. Just as Ben did. When they were in the hallways for the last time, that was the last manifestation of Bens guilt. Just like what Ben did, Archie broke the rules and spoke. And after aimlessly wondering the corridors, finding no conclusion, Ben eventually apologized and left without a single word. Leaving Archie stunned and maybe with the same Guilt that Ben had when Ell past.
not to mention he could sprint, this whole series is inconsistent with what version it is supposed to be, its even brought up at some point in the video

You have this knack of writing stories that entice me to the point of forgetting that it's just a game. Like - you can leave at any time, and you'll only lose the ability to satiate your curiosity. But you make it feel like the threat is genuine. The atmosphere is amazing, overall.
A pretty long comment, but these are things I feel I must say. This genuinely made me cry after I finished watching it. This is simply the best way I've seen to portray this kind of topic; guilt, regret and death. It's a story about a friend group falling apart bit by bit disguised as an analog horror. It hit me hard because of the fact I've gone so close to experiencing all three perspectives. I especially relate to Archie because I've had many people almost take their lives while I have no control over it. No way to help or recognize what's happening. Thankfully, nothing this bad had happened in my life yet, but the feeling still persists as a lingering fear of not doing enough that will result in something like that happening. In the end, it's important to recognize that you are doing your best. Keep communication open with your friends, you can never know when they might need help. Amazing video, great work 👍
I have no words. This is the best story telling I've ever come across. I have literal chills. The narrative switch at the end was just beyond anything what I was thinking would happen. Good work.
this looks really entertaining! the last little bit where he breaks from third person and goes to first took me off guard, and was incredibly immersive
I feel like all the version inconsistencies (sprinting, book and quills, health regenerating, sword sweeping attacks, food stacking, etc) add to what I believe one of the themes of this story is, being trapped in the past. Ben is constantly trying to assign meaning to what happened to Ell. He's so focused on it that he neglects his real life and puts himself through playing Minecraft even while he's being hunted by the Raven. This is even stronger if the theory that Ell didn't "move away" and instead committed suicide is true. Ben is trying to find some hidden reason to why Ell killed himself when there might not have been any. In forcing himself to search for a reason Ben doesn't allow himself to move on. Instead searching through these memories and places causes them to distort, adding a monster that hunts him and rapidly decaying Ell's house. It's possible that Archiet could be intended to show a more healthy way of dealing with trauma, or maybe just a different unhealthy way, I'm not sure.
"This is even stronger if the theory that Ell didn't "move away" and instead committed suicide is true." A better theory is that Ell died from an illness or cancer. It explains their fruitless yet deeply regimented hunting through corridors for something imperceptible, the same way you'd go through batteries of treatments to try stabilizing a terminal illness. Notice the supposed "wires" Archie points out aren't redstone blocks, they're netherbrick - because they're meant to portray blood vessels. And the thing is, Ell *could* have killed themselves for a reason - even an irrational one - and learning it may or may not provide closure. But a disease has no reason. It can't be solved or rationalized at all. It's like an approaching storm in an open field. You can't run from it or hide from it. What would you do? Ben's immediate reaction to Ell's impossible question is, in the end, the most appropriate one, but Ben doesn't accept it himself until he finally catches up with Archie again and sees himself in him - someone with survivor's guilt, running as hard as they can from acceptance, living (literally, by playing this seed) in the past. When he finally realizes this he poses the same question to Archie, knowing he knows where it came from, and knowing Archie has seen video of Ben's own answer. When he leaves, he moves on. Archie though, he doesn't move on. He literally relives his past, rewatching these videos over and over - reposting them to the ben2fr channel, as he admits in the end, and then ultimately creating this so-called analysis video. He's still trying to rationalize something that cannot be rationalized.
Did anyone else immediately look up the channel to see if it was real Edit: the channel link wasn’t in the description when I first checked it, hence this comment
Omg, it just dawned on me at the end that the narration had always been from Archie's point of view after watching the videos from Ben's pov, then it switches to Archie's pov in the present where Ben just vanishes like Ell did. This "Analysis" video was so good! I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did
it took me watching a few videos, but the concept of this channel being under the guise of someone investigating ARGs, only to found out it is someone making their own ARGs is really cool. You have definitely earned a subscribe from me. Nice job.
This is incredible! That transition from you talking in third person to first, revealing you were Archie, was so smooth I almost didn't notice lol This feels like another one of your works I'll be coming back to frequently to catch things I couldn't this first time :)
Also in beginning of the the shipwreck video when he goes into the underwater cave and finds a map the number of the map is "7" which the number is present in this video a lot, I wonder what it means (also someone else pointed this out: this video dropped exactly on 7th of June which is 7.7. and based on what timezone you use, 7PM)
When that twist hits it's just amazing. It's Archiet all this time, telling the story from his perspective, it's just him trying to figure out what does the recordings mean, how did things go wrong, how did both his friends dissapear in a game seemingly unrelated to their actual life. That's why Ben and El's voice uses some kind of TTS/Voice Changer while Archie uses the narrator's, because the narrator IS Archie.
Differences in the analysis of “It reigns out there”: The comments: Impressed over the sudden change to the poetic observation about the Raven Me: *Wow what a stupid spelling mistake*
ARG Explorers/debunkers looking through weird minecraft stuff and suddenly becoming a part of it is an amazingly new idea and I love it! I can't wait to see where you go to next, this concept you've made has so much potential!
I think one of the coolest details in this, kinda hinting at the twist early is the similarity between Archie's and Zeemyth's skins. They are both a similar shade of blue and their eyes are practically identical (two small black dots). This video is one of the bests ive ever seen btw, so cool
The first two videos honestly reminded me of my experience with schizophrenia. That constant paranoia and even the most minute detail brining a feeling of panic and dread. As well as the focus on phrases that would otherwise have no meaning (the number 7, for example)
I normally watch things like this during morning or afternoon so my brain doesn’t give me weird ideas. But you’re video just gives me the creeps in broad daylight
Another absolute banger, man. All the subtle details that get really unnerving if you realize they are off ie. the Biome gen or the snapshot structures are so good. Always excited for what you're gonna make next.
That… I’m speechless. I should’ve figured it out before- Whose voice that was, why it wasn’t TTS. Incredible work, no other way around it. I look forward to new ventures, whatever that may be.
I know this series is a recreation of the HOUSE of Leaves, but with your reference to the number 7 and philosophical musings in the later parts, you've accidently created the best visual representation of a Marathon Lore Terminal I've ever seen. If you ever need philosophical inspiration, I would highly recommend the "Eat the Path", "I am Hero" and "You are Destiny". If you really want to go on a trip, also check out "Hangar 96" and "Where are monsters in dreams".
Wonder if this ARG is referring to a friendship that fell apart and no matter how much they attempted to stay strong they never could, multiple people had a sense of dread, and sadness. Eyes. Perhaps Ell did what shouldn't have been done with Archie eventually unable to keep pushing past it which affected his own life to the extent that it was done as well.
Zeemyth ive been here for a WHILE and i have to tell you, YOU FUCKING COOKED MAN. i know this probably means nothing to you from a random person on the internet but im proud of you man, this genuinely nearly made me tear up. youve come so fucking far from the roothouse its honestly so hard to believe, never quit zee, never quit.
this video jus got recommended to me and i can’t lie, this gotta be the greatest twist in an arg i’ve ever seen in my entire life, u got my sub man, i wanna see more of these typa videos, keep it up
I really love how deep the story is despite being surrounded by all these clever gimmicks - the subtle game mods to make the whole game feel off, the careful perspective tricks, the meta twist. We can't be sure what happened to Ell. There appears to be zero evidence left in any of the videos or analysis thereof to indicate why Ell is gone. Were they taken by an illness? Did they run off from an abusive home? Snatched away by some eldritch impossible thing with a hundred eyes and ten frowns that aren't frowns? It could be anything, but the point is that they're gone, their going could not be prevented, and there is no rational explanation for it. An impossible, crumbling, decaying past full of guilt and loathing - in a way its own kind of comfort. When he finally realizes this he poses the same question to Archie, hoping perhaps, that he'll reach the same conclusion in his own time. When Ben leaves, he moves on. Maybe to Ell, maybe to his own place...maybe just back to reality. Archie though, he doesn't move on. He literally relives his past, rewatching these videos over and over, and then ultimately creating this so-called analysis video. He's still trying to rationalize something that cannot be rationalized. He wants this to be deeper, for there to be more. He wants tragedy to be a puzzle you can solve. And the crazy thing? If that preview at the end of this is meant to be for a video connected to this story? He might be right.
The laybrinth is such an interesting part of this ARG. And I was genuinely fooled by this "analysis" video, unbelievable writing. The best ARG Ive ever seen.

@@lc1540 Another good theory. Spoilers: Kinda weird how the raven didn't show up at all except for the scene in the house... as always for Zeemyth, many loose ends.
idea of an ARG: (main character) and his friend are experimenting with changing their world to older versions, when they change it to an alpha version, they find something strange in their world (pretty big and been played over a year, in which both of the main characters are good builders) that slowly makes itself more present. they revert their world back to a newer version after a bit of investigation, as they decide that they don't want to deal with whatever this thing is. The world is now at 1.17, and after a long time (time jump) they decide to make their world into the latest minecraft update, in which they find this "thing" once again. They hadn't thought about it since they went into that alpha version, and start to get freaked out since they thought it was only in older versions. the creature somehow captures his friend, and he isn't able to find it, however the creature loves to play with it's victims, so it set down a sign at his house, saying "dimension" along with a book reading "1.4". this leads down a rabbit hole of lore and things, but the main thing is that he tries to save his friend, who is being trapped in different versions of the world by the monster, and the main character has to solve clues while surviving to try to find him before he gets trapped in another. this keeps going until more and more things go down, until something happens at the end but the ending is not something i'm worried about. just the plot.
Who knows you could have twist at the end that you and your friend never actually changed back to newer version of game in first place or there was no entity or Friend it was only you
this is the only Minecraft series i ever actually enjoyed. at first i was confused and wrote this off as another strange ARG using Minecraft of all fucking things as a medium. then, i read one of the comments giving someone's theory, then it all clicked. using Minecraft for the basis of the message is genius, its about nostalgia, grief, longing, and suicide. now "I'd dance." is going in my quote book. thank you Archie, and thank you Zee.
Ngl m8. Your videos are like the only sort I've ever watched that makes me shiver, the kinda that makes me uncomfortable but genuinely want to see more as opposed to just "seeing where it ends up" when it comes to other similar videos. Basically: You. Have got. It. Fell in love with the channel since Bedrock and have never looked back.
The first person type of documentary vibe going into Archie’s POV absolutely stunned me to the point I had to replay, my jaw was floored- absolutely amazing, so glad to be early to finding this gem!!
"The rabbit hole opens soon." AYO!? For real though, absolutely phenomenal work yet again-- it took me way too long to click that it wasn't 'just some random arg' you decided to cover. I don't know why, lol. But your talent is absolutely amazing, and I hope you don't stop any time soon!
ohh my god this is SO peak i wanted to see what the comments were saying half way through the video and wasn’t even sure what they were talking about until the perspective switched at the end i love this ARG from the bottom of my heart :]
Holy hell, this was just an experience. To think it all looped back like this, an analysis video turning out to be a part of that ARG. Now i understand the 1.5 million views
BRAVO - this is a freaking work of art. It's subtle, the twist ending is brilliant, the narration switch, the world building, hiding an ARG in an "analysis video" that looked so convincing I didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary when it showed up in my suggested. This is amazing, great job.

31:47 to the end of this video is my favorite part, it’s just so sad once you realize, it’s been likely years since this happened and archie hasn’t seen either ben or el since then, he’s clearly so haunted by the disappearance of his friends, yet he can’t bring himself to move on, he’s just like ben with el, however archie could never bring himself to make the push that ben did , im never a fan of these endings where the ending is a terrible outcome, doesn’t mean i dont like them though, its like when your dog with a disease gets put down, its sad for you cant see your beloved friend anymore, but good as you put you friend out of its misery edit: im also realizing that the “i lost the clip” is most probably a lie, this has been haunting him for years, i doubt he would’ve lost something so important, he probably just couldn’t bring himself to post it, it was something for only his friend group to see, a little inside joke if you will
This was heartbreaking. Comment section spoiled the twist, but that didn't change just how spectacular that twist was. Bravo. This was a work of art. thoroughly enjoyed experiencing this. Expert way of telling a story set in digital horror.
Just when I was longing for another video from him, the madman returns with another work of genius! I've seen a lot of Minecraft horror ARGs popping up lately, and the fact this video starts out seeming like just another video analyzing one of them like those made by Render or Wifies, but gives you hints of being something much more up until the reveal at the very end...Oh I just love that. That fact Zeemyth is already teasing much more at the end too makes me very excited.
Zeemyth, your really a guy after my own infinite heart. The way you and your characters seem unholy fascinated by these eternal monolithic structures really makes me feel happy that someone else shared the interest to explore every inch of the infinite

God i was just waiting for the day someone would turn one of those ARG explained videos into an actual ARG and by god was the wait worth it. It took me a moment to realize just what it is that this video is about but I'm so glad this was recommended to me, the ending going from third person to first is so augh The fact that, at the end of things, Archie is just as confused about everything as we are, trying to look at the videos Ben left behind with a critical eye, hopeful that putting a layer of detachment between him and the videos will help him understand something that he hasn't been able to yet. Just, bravo. Truly.
im going to rewatch this tomorrow. I'm half asleep in bed and just wanted to turn on something for background noise. I paid attention for a bit, but not long enough to NOTICE the narration switch. at one point near the end of the video, i looked up from my phone at the video on my TV and audibly said, "wait, why is it first person now?"

The Raven represents their grief coming to haunt them (as it never physically attacks them)
After running away for the whole time, we realize that Ben and Archie are two very different characters. In "Changes" Archie says to Ben that "we don't make the changes, changes make us" This quote divides the two characters. Archie being the one who makes changes, (this is reflected by something later in the story) meanwhile Ben is the one who let's the changes make him. (Also reflected later)
At the very end of the story, the pov shifts to Archie, as Ben asks him the question
"It's midnight, in a raging Thunderstorm. You have nothing around. No trees, no buildings, just an empty field. What would you do?"
This question shows the difference between the two characters based on their answers.
He simply says
"I'd Dance"
It's an absolute genius arg, which hits really deep for something being made in minecraft. Also this may be completely wrong but I feel like Ben disappearing at the end doesn't represent his death, but instead him moving on from the grief. As he leaves Archie behind stuck with the grief that he cannot let go.
I agree totally
Archie pauses for a bit, but follows after Ben in the ending. ua-cam.com/video/Sr9cy3KcouA/v-deo.htmlsi=KoOzr3nHCEql0prY&t=741

im confused is ben a real person or is this story made up
I sorta get it, it’s about loss, self blame, and the struggle to move on, right?
Dang, this story is deep

Thats a really great theory
also at 32:00 therers a thump and a red "light" covers a bit of the wall and ben disappears
This is amazing
Extremely convincing thought process, I want to like, but it's at 69.
The funniest part about this is knowing Archie is narrating this and watching the part where he talks about how he's incredibly smart when it comes to the details of this game because he knows about chunk trails, because in retrospect, he is literally taking time out of the video to meticulously explain to the viewer how smart he perceives himself as for literally no reason.

immediately noticed how at 0:35, the food in his furnace is stacked despite this clearly being pre beta 1.8, showing already that something is wrong with his world, then the book and quill, in combination with this, he's sprint jumping despite a lack of hunger, and that theres tall grass despite him being in an alpha or infdev version of minecraft (shown by the grass texture) and something that i see is how the textures almost seem like something from vanilla tweaks or re-indev, and prior to beta 1.8, the only meat was fish and pork chops that looked like steak, which is incredibly weird, before even the 5 minute mark, im already piling information into this comment.

I definitely _want_ an ARG from zeemyth, I think it'd be sick and super high quality, but I don't think that's what we're getting
That was a pleasant twist at the end, didn’t expect it honestly thought you were just reading off someone else’s arg. I love the effort and mystery in this, truly a love letter to Minecraft args. Can’t wait to find out more about this place, consider me intrigued
You’ve gotta watch all of the other videos. Trust me, they all are filled with curves, loops and so much detail.
Idk why but the ending is just so beautiful with the music and the “i’d dance”
I dont get the ending😭 can someone explain?
Same! It feels so haunting in such a peaceful way, like Ben was… at peace in a way
This is the best Minecraft arg explanation video thus far bro. The switch up to explaining to being a part of it is amazing. Great video man.
One hell of a twist at the end there. Got damn goosebumps from it.
What was the twist
Zeemyth suddenly starts speaking as if He had spoken to Ben in person, revealing HE is Archie.
@@fallentoashes7452 and the perspective changes too, from Ben’s to Archie’s right when Zeemyth stops talking like Zeemyth and starts talking like Archie… :0
Also he says the exact same thing that Ben’s channel description says at 32:14 implying that HE is the one who’s been running it this whole time. :P
Furthermore, the message from the description that he quotes goes as follows “this was some time ago, but I go back to watch these here and there. it’s nice” but then while quoting it he also adds “it’s nice to know that each time I find something that I missed, something that helps me understand what he was going through or what even happened.”
And if you look at the description of Ben’s channel, the message doesn’t have a “ . “ at the end which could be implying that it’s incomplete, and that this new addition to the message is probably the intended complete version of the message! :D
Same with his bedrock.zip video.
I saw it coming, these loops happen quite often in Minecraft horror stories
You have this knack of writing stories that entice me to the point of forgetting that it's just a game. Like - you can leave at any time, and you'll only lose the ability to satiate your curiosity. But you make it feel like the threat is genuine. The atmosphere is amazing, overall.
i clicked this video without knowing this a zeemyth upload and i was pleasently surprised to hear his voice. Great video!
Good work.
Thank you, genuinely
this looks really entertaining! the last little bit where he breaks from third person and goes to first took me off guard, and was incredibly immersive
It's possible that Archiet could be intended to show a more healthy way of dealing with trauma, or maybe just a different unhealthy way, I'm not sure.
is this story true?? like the mincraft raven thing was real and the it's not just a story for enertaniment?
@@Rose-p4l9e no its just an unfiction story. unfiction is a type of fiction thats told as if it was real
@@Febewhitehorn1234 ohh i really thought it was real
"This is even stronger if the theory that Ell didn't "move away" and instead committed suicide is true."
A better theory is that Ell died from an illness or cancer.
Did anyone else immediately look up the channel to see if it was real

Omg, it just dawned on me at the end that the narration had always been from Archie's point of view after watching the videos from Ben's pov, then it switches to Archie's pov in the present where Ben just vanishes like Ell did. This "Analysis" video was so good! I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did
it took me watching a few videos, but the concept of this channel being under the guise of someone investigating ARGs, only to found out it is someone making their own ARGs is really cool. You have definitely earned a subscribe from me. Nice job.

That transition from you talking in third person to first, revealing you were Archie, was so smooth I almost didn't notice lol

Maybe it’s just me, but Ben’s house in episode one reminds me a lot of Zeemyths house in the Shipwreck video, mainly the stilts and windows for me.
its coming full circleee
yeah your right I forgot that was a thing.
OH YEAH that was my very first thought
Also in beginning of the the shipwreck video when he goes into the underwater cave and finds a map the number of the map is "7" which the number is present in this video a lot, I wonder what it means
(also someone else pointed this out: this video dropped exactly on 7th of June which is 7.7. and based on what timezone you use, 7PM)
@@lukasbelavy358 zeemyth has confirmed that pandora is completely unrelated to anything he’s done so far

So your telling me he only slightly changed his skin after all that time
@@JackBrannen-ij7wp well Zeemyth's skin has a beard and generally looks older. It might just be a more grown up version of Archie's

Zeemyth ive been here for a WHILE and i have to tell you, YOU FUCKING COOKED MAN.
i know this probably means nothing to you from a random person on the internet but im proud of you man, this genuinely nearly made me tear up.

this video jus got recommended to me and i can’t lie, this gotta be the greatest twist in an arg i’ve ever seen in my entire life, u got my sub man, i wanna see more of these typa videos, keep it up
I really love how deep the story is despite being surrounded by all these clever gimmicks - the subtle game mods to make the whole game feel off, the careful perspective tricks, the meta twist.

This means so much to me dude, it’s all I hoped for an ending of a video of mine. The fact that it happened not once but often is just so nice. It’s not the hardest thing to pull off if you ever wanted to do it too
Your patron calling the entity a "raven" is likely a reference to the game Monument Valley, as the ravens from there closely resemble it. Just my thoughts, haven't finished the video yet
As someone who hasn't played Monument Valley I originally thought it was meant to be inspired by the Raven Mocker in Native American myth
Or OldRoot
@@CaptainFordoCanonizingCommitee The raven in Oldroot is a reference to the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe

idea of an ARG: (main character) and his friend are experimenting with changing their world to older versions, when they change it to an alpha version, they find something strange in their world (pretty big and been played over a year, in which both of the main characters are good builders) that slowly makes itself more present. they revert their world back to a newer version after a bit of investigation, as they decide that they don't want to deal with whatever this thing is.
:|
Seems a bit basic with the older version entity probably being Herobrine but it could work out
Who knows you could have twist at the end that you and your friend never actually changed back to newer version of game in first place or there was no entity or Friend it was only you
