When I first moved to Belfast from the mainland, I was shocked at how hard-hitting the road safety ads are here compared to the tame, and somewhat understated equivalents back in England. This ad is a perfect exemplar of the genre and was broadcast in 2011.

I think the message hits home best with the Irish ads compared to British ones.
I remember one where it's a bar tender impersonating each outcome, and it's not nearly the same. A bartender going "that's a 12 month ban and a criminal record" isn't the same as these

These videos are used all island wide, ROI's have always been graphic so NI's are too. Instead of using RSA branding and ending with "from the Road Safety Authority" they use DOE branding and end with "from DOE".
