Hey Kim! I didn't get to make it to the Bud stage show last night but my sister did! She's been to a lot of shows this summer including Rod and Duran, she said yours was the most enjoyable!! I told her to fawk off on your behalf! LMAO Seriously, summer ain't complete without a Kim show and those magic TO vibes you create. The clincher for me was she said your guitar playing reminded her of mine...I said, it's the other way around!! :D
@@pvgreaser Just to confirm, 1976, is correct. I've been watching Max & Kim consistently starting before Max's first album, referred to as the "Blockheads" LP, was released, and Rush since before their 1st album "Rush" was released. Max also opened for Rush when they recorded the "All The Worlds A Stage" live LP, recorded in June of 1976 in Toronto, I was there for all 3 shows. Also, I'm pretty sure Rush credits Max on the inside of the fold of their "Farewell To Kings" album, which was recorded I think in June of 1977, in Wales, and again on the "Hemispheres" album... So @thekeysman1 would be accurate in his timing of 1976, as I saw them there as well. Rush recorded "Hemispheres" during the mid-summer of 1978, in the U.K.. But, yes, you are correct in saying Max opened for Rush on the European leg of the tour in 1978...and Max was really hot on those two tours...depending on when you saw Max, it was either the continuation of the "All The Worlds A Stage Tour" or the "Hemispheres" tour, which Max also was the opening act for...crap, sorry about my textual diarrhea :) :)
Hello from NB. Out looking for tunes and ended up here. Battlescar is a killer song indeed. I read the whole history behind the song years ago. Both bands jammed into two rooms and recorded in two takes. Max Webster was opening for Rush on tour at the same time. There's a cell phone video on youtube where Alex Lifeson joins Kim Mitchell's band for a performance of the song.
Hey Ktm, thanks! That one is not too hard, it's just a a hammer from open A string to a B5 at the second fret going to back to an open A5. Then when Kim starts singing he goes up to D form chords at the 11th and then 9th frets- so B and A.
Oh! That's interesting. Mine comes down to my studio when I practice or when my son and I jam. Maybe he's more used to it since he heard music since he was a puppy, and all the lessons. He can go wherever he wants if it bothers him, as you see here, he came into the room! He's a rock n roll dog!
@@MusicMotivator I don't desire to be contrary, but, I can tell you from my experience of training 300+ GSDogs over the last 45 years, @licksnkicks1166 is correct in her observation. A dog's ear is way more sensitive as compared to the human ear and has higher frequency sensitivity with an ability to hear four times the distance of us humans. They work off air vibrations the same as a human's ear. I say it with respect and great sincerity to you, and concern for your four-legged family member, long term and repeated exposure at those levels will do the same as it would to a human ear...the difference is a dog is not smart enough to process potential hearing damage and stay away, humans are...your vet will validate both our concerns... :):) Respectfully...
I would think he told you off cuz he was around at least 10 yrs before Satch was even known and he has nothing on Kim, Satch is a techical player but has no soul he is boring as hell towatch
Having just seen Satch in TO i completely and totally disagree with the boring as hell to watch part. Actually age and history wise both guys were doing stuff in the 70's also. I love em both.
Haha that’s a funny story … thanks for the laugh … rawk on !
Anytime Kim, thanks for the music and memories!! Did I play the parts right? Mostly? haha

Cool!
Nice playing , saw Max Webster open for rush in 1976
If that was in England it was ‘78 I’m pretty sure - blew Rush off the stage loved MW / KM ever since even though he never responds

Thanks - I’ve just got Bob Wegner book which is brilliant
Correct words.... wrong order. Kim would have bought you a beer if you'd correctly stated that Satriani sounded like him instead of the reverse.
Ha! Yes, if I get another chance, I'll get it right! Thanks for watching.

hmm, wondering if the second drummer was Don Breithaupt?
No, he was on keys.
@@MusicMotivator noted, thanks!
Your dog shouldn’t be around u while your playing at that volume. My dogs are never with me when I
practice.
