I'm so glad it worked for you! Try improvising over some changes and see if you can land chord tones ( but then revert back to pent and blues to shut the over-analytical thoughts off! haha Happy New Year and thanks for taking the time to comment!

@@MusicMotivator Yea, I was instantly just naturally doing that as I was watching your vid for the first time, it was one of those light bulb moments and I saw new possibilities, I love when that happens! Thanks man!

@@mxwarlord Awesome! Do you think I should do a follow up vid with specific solo examples?

Two corrections! Right off the bat my brain was a head of my mouth, the V chord in major is not minor, it is of course major! I was already thinking about being in a minor key! Also @ 3:00- bVI is not Bb, if we were in dm yes, but in gm, Bb is the III chord, or relative major. The bvi chord in gm is Eb, which also has a Bb tone.

Hi Aiade! Thanks, do you mean specifically chord and scale analysis or maybe an actual solo?

Thanks for the analysis. Always need to feed the Left brain to power the right brain.

Guys, here's imo the pinnacle of chord tone soloing, you literally can't successfully play over a progression like this without using them! ua-cam.com/video/8cuBrJzLqUo/v-deo.html

    More math than music here.

Hey man! Thanks for comment! Funny thing is music theory has a lot of math, the secret is turning those numbers into music that has emotional meaning. Sorry, I didn't convey that well enough for you here. Happy New year!

@@MusicMotivator No offence, I get it. Just more than I need to know in one session. I like the lick its cool, the math not so much.
      Cheers 🍻

@@awkipintee haha yep! Some really hate the theory part, sure fire way to get a headache LOL and other theory nerds like me love it! But also love just cranking the Marshall and letting the licks fly! Cheers!

Yea and unless you do the math you will never make real music that makes any sense to the ear.... This is very clear and great teaching....

@@mxwarlord You wanna bet? Great way to see the blank look on the students face is to overwhelm him with math, and under nourish him with melodic application of the theory. It’s good information it’s just not fun.
