    Greetings from Japan!
Ms. Deen, I’m African American. I learned about you when you were a guest on Wait Wait...Don’t Tell Me. I thought you were the most charming, adorable, and lovable person I’ve ever heard on that show. It just broke my heart when all of that negative news about you emerged. It felt like you were made a sacrificial lamb in corporate America. If every person in the entertainment industry were accused of making bad comments off-camera on their own personal time, I’m sure we wouldn’t have any need for a television or radio.
I’m so very happy to see you on UA-cam doing what you love and doing it so well. I clicked “like” and subscribed to your channel because my opinion of you has never changed. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Please stay safe and I wish you and your family a Merry Xmas and prosperous New Year.

I'm so glad you recognize what happened to her. None of us are perfect, Martha Stewart was scapegoated too and went to prison. We're evolving if we want to and she has a huge loving heart. She picked herself up like we all should, living and learning and loving each other.

Mrs. Richter, eggnog is very much like German Eier Likör. I grew up not far from Paula Deen, in the same age range, so I know Southern eggnog. My husband is from Germany, so I know that one as well. Southern eggnog is the best!. We used only heavy cream, no milk, and never cooked the eggs. And any bourbon whiskey works; no scotch whiskey however. I have never known anyone to have a problem with very fresh raw eggs, but you can sometimes find pasteurized fresh eggs in fancy stores. I will make mine this Christmas with raw eggs. The whiskey is enough to kill anything bad.

I’ve been sitting here watching your show, thinking about all the hours, days, years and recipes we’ve spent together since you started out. You were destined to be on tv sharing recipes, and the love of cooking.
I’ve been friends with you since you started out, My Goodness, that was awhile ago!
I couldn’t count the dozens of recipes of yours that I’ve served up for my family and friends over the years.
My love of cooking started since the time I was big enough to stand on a lard can beside my granny stirring vegetable soup.
It’s so true that good food and fond memories in our kitchens hold a special place in our hearts.
I want to tell you how much I love😮 and admire you. You were there with me through some tough times in my life, your stories, smiles and your sense of humor lifted me up during some of worst times of my life.
Funny how people can affect your life without ever knowing their name, but you did just that.
I’m certain you have millions of friends that feel like me.
As you speak about your Mama and how special she was the emotion on your face was pure love. Just think how proud she’d be of you influencing cooks around the world. It makes me tearful to see such pure love.
Thanks for sharing all the shows, beautiful home and and especially your first grandson, what a beauty he was!

I’ve been making the original raw egg recipe of Mama’s Eggnog for 20 years now. I love it for many reasons, the awesome flavor, the ease in making it, and, most importantly, the joy it brings my son and I when we prepare it together for the season. The raw eggs don’t bother me, in fact, I think it’s a big reason it taste so great. If you use pastured eggs, it’s even better, providing a much richer flavor. My boyfriend and I have been making eggnog for Christmas for the last few years. We make the cooked version, which sounds more difficult, but its not. And after making it a few times I've figured out that cooking it is safer with all the worries about eggs. I've also figured out the longer you cook it the more it gels ,or gets thicker. So if you don't like a thick custardly texture, don't let it cook very long.use only the minimum amount of time to make it safe. We also add vanilla cinnamon and nutmeg to the base, not just on top.

I’d give anything to have one more Christmas with Mom & Dad. So many of our Christmas’s were a bit sad because we were poor and there were times when Mom & Dad were so heartsick that there were no presents for us, except for one each from the Salvation Army. But they were wonderful parents who loved us and my brothers and I would feel bad for them…never for ourselves. So, yes, one more Christmas when we could tell them it was ok because our presents were them. sigh….

Real good and olé-fashioned Eggnog is simple enough to make. But it is very-
very rich. Begin with an old-tried-and-
true recipe for a good and creamy custard. I grew-up on it, so what I was given originally had no alcohol and personally I think that I actually prefer it without. Watch that lovely movie once again called 'The Homecoming'. The Ladies were known all around town for 'Their Recipe'; this wasn't their Nogg, but the scene with John-Boy and his moma was just so very precious.
Cooking it can indeed kinda ruin it a bit.
Use extra yolks, a real premium Nogg should be richness first and foremost.
A lot of folks get kind-of wierded-out about the protein that moma puts in place to secure the little baby chick; I know that it's kind of gross for some, but actually all that it actually is - is just what's called 'Twisted Albumin', it's really just curled-up egg-white to protect baby from being sloshed-round.
They're super simple to winnow out. If you use butter, never ever use margarine, and a reputable diary should always be-among your letters to Santa. Use all natural whole whipping cream. Use granulated real sugar, or use brown but you may need to temper the molasses a little. Use whole natural Nutmeg and and invest in a Grater. Use whole milk, not fat-free or reduced.

I love eggnog. just about the only time of year I drink any liquor is from Christmas Or New Years day. I have a short cut on the whipped cream. I put my whip cream in my nutra bullet and it is whipped in 5 seconds flat! perfect! I use the half pint so that is all that will fit on one go around, just do it in two rounds. Its so good! thanks you for all of the holiday recipes and love and best dishes to your family from Texas xoxoxo

My momma made two bowls of egg nog…the adults nog and the children’s nog. She always put the children’s nog in her cut glass punch bowl and let us, helping the littles of course, dip out our own in the little punch bowl glass cups. It made us feel so special. I didn’t even know about the adult nog in the freezer on the carport until I was 10. I thought so many people were outside on the carport, laughing and cutting up, because some were smoking and everyone knew momma hated cigarette smoke. I miss her so much.
