2:00 about that i mostly use a lip balm, just leave the nut of strings, put a little bit of it in the slot, and a little on the string It's almost invisible, pretty easy to apply and it smells nice ~~ That way until the effect wears out you'll get squeaky clean bends, no tuning issues and a good odor for your guitar hahaha
So I am very new to playing guitar and I have a electric guitar and while watching videos I learned the pick ups will play phone sound through your amp. Idk why but it was entertaining for a solid 5 minutes for me. The loop pedal sounds like a great idea
pieces of foam cut and placed 'inside' tremolo springs to prevent noisy resonance from them. Likewise, I use a piece of foam (some use hair bands etc) under the strings past the nut to prevent noise from them also.
To help with the string stretching I would tune my guitar higher and let it sit overnight, usually that did the job buit I like your suggestion even better. Also the trick with the phone and the looper is awesome!!
A quick check by a trustworthy guitar tech should be enough to identify the source of the issue and it would likely be very quick and easy to sort out.... every time I have come across this issue however the nut slot was the issue..but still worth getting it checked out👌
i am not disagreeing, but i would say practice standing up unless you plan on performing sitting down is the best solution. part of performing is visual and let's face it a guitar that is sitting real high on your body can look silly especially in certain genre's of music. besides learning to play in different positions at different angles can help as well over time... but i get what you are saying and yes that works.
Definitely agree with the idea of practicing standing up. And I also agree that for some genres it is almost a basic requirement that you should sling the guitar low for the sake of visuals. However for the most part if you want consistency from sitting down to standing up and also minimize the risk of wrist injuries further down the line then most players would benefit from compromising aesthetics for more practical reasons👌...but I agree with you Metallica with high slung guitars just doesn't look right.
I like your content… but I have to say, Elixir strings have been the only strings I’ve bought that came straight out of the package with rust on them. Maybe I got a bad set ?
Good tips with one exception, never, never over stretch strings when replacing. That results in strain hardening the string sacrificing life. Instead, simply play them in. You’ll only have to retune a couple of times and they’ll stabilize quickly enough.
Ye this is pretty important tbh. The ones I have on now I overstretched and it is very hard to get keep them in tune ever since. They don't like holding standard tuning and often jump above when I go to tune up. After no time at all they go flat again. Will be changing again soon so no worries.
You need to tune every time right before you start playing.....if the tuning slips while playing then adjust it. Definitely not too much if you want to sound in tune consistently.... It takes seconds so why wouldn't you?
NEVER rub a piece of cloth on a guitar string. This can end up releasing lint and wrapping it around the string and ruining your tone. If you want to clean the strings, use microfiber, those fabrics used to clean glasses.

I hate getting my finger pierced from the end of the string. A real pet hate of mine , great tip, thanks
No probs! It's now only other peoples guitars you have to watch out for now!
Yea awesome vid indeed! Wish I knew how to get rid of my "Sitar" sounding G string on my Squire Stratocaster. ;-(

Sympa le truc.
simple but effective👍👍
Whats the mod on your bridge?
The guitar is a VG USA stratocaster. This comes fitted with a vg Roland pickup. Check out some videos online to see what this can do!
@@Samjamguitar sounds cool ngl thanks!
I freakin’ LOVE finger squeak!! Why would I want to get rid of it? It’s the overdrive of the acoustic guitar.
Sadly I don't own a strat style guitar but I know someone who does 😀
I do own a tea towel just like yours though
Well you are half way there then🤣
He speaks for the future
After how many times do i need to tune all the strings?
Are you referring to after stretching them in?
@@Samjamguitar idk i mean i heard guitarist need to tune thier guitar everytime they are going to play is it true? Isn't it too much?
You need to tune every time right before you start playing.....if the tuning slips while playing then adjust it. Definitely not too much if you want to sound in tune consistently.... It takes seconds so why wouldn't you?
@@Samjamguitar ok thanks man
No probs 👌
But how will I do my volume swells?
Volume swells still work...in fact with the sponge it is easier to get a smooth swell.
Pointy strings of doom!!! Lol
Beware🤣
Drill holes in youre guitar to make it lighter.
i just tune my strings up 1 whole step and then tune them back down and they stay in tune

Seems legit.
I love your channel but the first step you mentioned is wrong and damages the core of the strings
Stretching in strings is a very common procedure.
@@Samjamguitar it is, and is wrong. Ask any luthier.
