The ONLY tropical update that matters.
FACTS. Everyone else is just hype
The only meteorologist that matters
There's other hoodnones
Until this video goes out of date…
You don't have to buy bottles of water. Fill up empty containers: 2 liter bottles, juice bottle and empty milk jugs. Put some in your freezer now. Fill your bathtub to use as water to flush your toilet. Charge your electronics now. Have flashlights handy. Think about losing power for a few days. Good luck. From Florida.
One of the few times a tropical system map like this doesn't give me anxiety living in the greater Houston area. That's how desperate I am for rain. It's been a brutal summer.
I live directly in that pink area here in Southern California and I appear be to the only one of my neighbors doing any sort of preparation for what's coming. Thanks for the update.
Better to be prepared & not need to be, than need to prepare & not be!
It’s so crazy how desert dwellers are not taking flash floods seriously. I’m a phoenix transplant in Huntington Beach and I’m like guys, this is serious lmao. I remember when we got a tropical storm run off in maricopa/pinal county and the entire metropolitan area pretty much shut down. That was 3” of rain overnight. I was trapped in San tan valley. The i10 in downtown was completely flooded with people trapped on top of their cars. I’m praying for the people in Coachella and all the surrounding valleys.
Food, water, security. JB on UA-cam has been preaching it for years!!
I know people who are in the "oh, it's just a storm" mindset. Not taking it seriously at all
The neighbours have already evacuated.
He doesn't do videos often, but when he does he's the most interesting meteorologist in the world.
“Doesn’t always.
You almost nailed it smh
Weird😱 calm muggy cloudy still weather now In the high desert . 3200 feet - midway between LA n Vegas - I survived Hillary in the 90's I'll ride this one out too - Stay strong Apple Valley and SD
Gonna be an active next several weeks, thanks for the update and the science behind it.
Imagine someone telling you the first tropical system to hit the USA would be in California
Like Cali has NEVER had tropical storms...bahaha The media seems to be putting FEAR in the people. I guess the stores will profit from the news having people stock up like a months worth of food. bahaha
Bro it's already raining
Wait you think this the first tropical hurricane in the usa???
@@acdatpb this hurricane season.

Thank you Dr Levi
Thank you so much Levi!
The Long Valley Caldera near Mammoth Lakes CA is in the path of the storm as well. There are signs that it is awakening after 100,000 years of slumber. And what can cause volcanic eruptions? Water that gets into the magma chamber and becomes steam..
A hurricano?!

When I hear this voice I know it’s August in S FL. And I’m very worried that SCal and Tijiajuna are Not taking their storm seriously.
Competence - No flashy sensation drama - This is why i prefer Levi`s channel over others.
Been living in California for 40 years and have never experience a hurricane
Man was hoping Houston gets a good amount of rain!

I’m worried about the Dams. I live at the base of the flood path from 1928
That was reportedly 1b gallons back then- the reservoir now holds 40b
watching from North Texas

This was a TERRIFIC weather report! Ty... u r VERY good @ this
Never in my life have i seen an eastern Pacific hurricane. Until Hilary i didnt even know it was possible. Flood warning in Tuscon! Absolutely wild.
i accessed the fema flood map and i am in a low risk area..i hope the deluge doesn't make the map a liar
Hey, Levi ... we got some heavy rain as that Bahamas/Florida Twave passed through Saturday morning with quite a lot of localized flooding ... hopefully we won't see any serious impacts.
Your HONESTY is appreciated.
It is obviously important to stay with the FACTS.
I appreciate the FACT that you do NOT interject personal opinion - as far too many do.
I am glad that Texas will not get rain.
I need the Shoddy ‘so-called builder’ to be FORCED to buy back the piece of crap that they threw together - in bonterra at woodforest in montgomery county Texas - prior to any rain.
They dug my house - that was on property at the top of the hill - into a hole - and elevated two properties on either side of me.
They have much runoff discharging - under the foundation - and up to the front door.
FYI, Texas is in a drought, so while you were praying the rain not come our way, we do need it. The farmers and cattle ranchers in TX are suffering big-time right now.
i live in owens valley california. thats near central eastern cali. its been windy all day and its 10:49pm satuday and been raining almost an hour now
Thank you, Dr. L! 🙌 GO NOLES.
Watching
The knly channel I give a thumbs up
in the Baja these storms are called a chubasco.
8:18 Thanks Dr. Cowan but those are the Windward Islands, not the Leeward Islands. *EDIT:* I see you corrected yourself later in the video. 😀
We have had rain in SW Idaho Sat. afternoon.
If you’re in forecasted path Hurricane Hilary please don’t laugh it off! These storms are unpredictable heck just prepare and hunker down get some goodies pretend your camping! I have lived thru many even Cat 4 Hugo It was life changing!
I wonder if a atorm will take full advantage of the gulf?? It be freaky
A weeks' worth of warnings for this! Wow a rainstorm for California with 45 - 60mph winds. What a joke.
Maybe the 2-5 " of rain will wash the trash & used needles of the streets. About what I figured would happen.
The truth!
My brother
🌈💥🕊️
Euro had the jump on this . Just a couple days delayed .
I will absolutely buy a "Sloppy System" shirt/pin/mug/sticker
Oh yeah and the tote bag
Dudes my go to ever year
Anyone that flies in those storms has ice in their veins.
Hurry Up Hillary 🌬🌀🌀🌊🌊 The Los Angeles River 🌊🌊🌊 The Salton Sea 🌊🌊🌊
It's called Baja California
The track for Hilary also matters for rainfall outcomes for coastal urban Southern California. The mountains of Southern California will produce a rain shadow if Hilary tracks east of the mountains. Weather models endlessly/historically overstate rain totals for any system where precipitation is to wrap around from the east/northeast across the mountains (the mountains clearly trouble the models a great deal). With that projected slight jog to the east by Hilary earlier today the aggressive rainfall projections for much San Diego were cut sharply. If Hilary ultimately tracks west of the mountains we in SD might see some wind; we would definitely get serious rain. However, as it stands at 300p PST my sense is rainfall totals for this event (west of the mountains) will fall far short of predictions.
That said, rainfall over the eastern slopes of the Southern California mountains and over the deserts of SW California etc will be dangerous & historic.
This seems to be the case so far...mountains and deserts will be slammed the most...we shall see soon
Laughed at "only 85 mph winds" 🤪
Lokin at south middle tall clouds blocker😢😮🎉❤
My parents are in Riverside county which is in the pink zone and they refuse to evaluate to my home in Orange County. I’m so afraid for them

I'm hoping the it hugs the coast out in the ocean for another couple hundred miles before it dives in. Would like to see the desert get ample water. San Diego in LA and surrounding country couldn't can always benefit from more water
