    you totally don`t have to press the ball joints out in order to change the struts! just undo the three top mount bolts and the strut drops down allowing you to remove from the lower brace. If by any chance you don`t manage to get enough clearance to get it out you can undo the lower control arm bushing from the chassis allowing the wishbone to go further down. Even with this it is much quicker than depressing the ball joints and you don`t need any special tool

    You don't have to disassemble half of that to get the struts out.
    Undo the 3 top strut mount bolts, the sway bar link bolt and the the bolt at the bottom of the strut, that's it.

    Only problem with this video, clean parts and dirty parts together. I would have de-greased everything under that wheel arch.

    No need to remove the control arm and the tie rod end. it all comes out without doing so.

      You are right, a replacement can be made without dismantling the ball joint of the lever and the steering link, however, our mechanic, went this way for his own reasons.
      Best regards,
      Autodoc team.

    can't the shock come out of the hub without taking off the hub off the control arm.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  5 років тому

      Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, one won't be able to do it, as the arms support the knuckle and this doesn't make it possible to put down the hub. Best regards, Autodoc.

      It can, I just did it yesterday. You won’t have enough space as compared to removing the control arm and tie rod but it’s possible. Plus it’s ideal to have the car high enough for the hub and control arm to drop.

    it's not s good idea to let the hub assembly hang on its own brake lines, you should suspend it using a bungee cable. Bad mechanic!

      Thank you for your feedback! You are absolutely right - to avoid brake hose damage, brake caliper should be hanged. Best regards, Autodoc.

      He only suspended it for a moment, though; it looks like he placed it onto the control arm before bringing the car down.

    This guy is the cleanest and the neatest mechanic I have ever seen in my life. I wonder if he's, honest as well,
    Why am I asking ? Because the majority of mechanic are lying ass full of s*** piece of s*** m************.
    Today's mechanic will break something on your car or, release the pressure of something on your car so you can incur more damage to your vehicle , and return to their repair shop so they can make more money off you. I had one mechanic to steal my Monroe Shocks off my vehicle and replace them with some b******* shock. So when you take your car for a repair. before leaving the auto mechanic make sure you do a thorough examination on your vehicle. Especially under the hood of the vehicle and under the bottom of the vehicle before you pay the mechanic ask him to put your vehicle on the list so you can examine the bottom of your car. and most important of all have general knowledge of your vehicle so these bulshit mechanic will not rob you because they will definitely rob you every chance they get because they're all piece of s***....... years ago 30-40 years ago. mechanic had pride and **honor.in** their work. now they're just lying dirty stinking ass piece of s*** people. Will still s*** out of your car especially the f****** Mexican auto mechanics. I have been to 5 Mexican auto mechanics living in New York City and every last one of them had did a f*****-up job and have stolen items out of my car. so do yourself a favor do not ever go to a Mexican auto mechanic you will regret it
