Breitling is severely underrated by people who know nothing about watches but can afford to buy one. They are certainly right up there with the heavy hitters Omega, Tudor and IWC. Rolex is still the king though
Bro I’m glad I found your channel/content. You’re giving out sensible advice to new and old collectors. I wish my life and job revolves around watches and for to handle so many different pieces. Yet you seem to remain humble and not misleading. I’m the only person in my “circle” who likes watches. Or even wears one 😂. I wish I didn’t have such an expensive hobby, but in this clip you’re showing that a quality piece can be found for around £3G. And yes I know that this is really expensive already for most people. Anyway man, I love your content. You give great advice and you cater to everyone from the beginner to the watch enthusiasts who’s been in the game for years. Breitling is a brand I’ve not liked since I was a teenager staring through the window of the watch shop. I just remember that the Breitling where so cool with their angled link bracelet. (I wonder if those straps where better on a left wrist than a right??). You’re living the dream 😎
Superocean Heritage, Navitimer and Aerospace are some of the best Breitlings. Those don’t go from 1-3 more like 3-7K used. 1K gets you an Aquaracer Quartz or a Breitling Colt quartz
I agree, buy a Breitling pre-owned, they are really well made and you could get a bargain in the used market. I have seen some Chronomat B01 go for 3k, for what you're getting that's a bargain.
Once these watches are bought like Breitling or Omega if your not the first owner, u will be the 2nd and last owner to that watch. The resale value will be -75% of what u paid for.
I think people who buy into other expensive brands such as Breitling don’t look into watches as investment. They are normally watch enthusiast who appreciate horology and prefer to wear a less popular luxury brand.
After owning a navitimer, other watches from similar brands at this price point feels cheap in comparison. The dial, movement, gator clasp strap are all very high in quality. Not a fan of the chronomat though.
I love them too , but def not a watch to sell , cause you will loose money , I have all mine and will just keep them , they are well made watches for sure .
😬 yeah you could buy it brand new or worn 1-3X complete full set with factory warranty & 1 year warranty from grey dealer for probably $2,800-3,500 usd
If it’s the green dial SOH ll 42mm chrono has 1 full set for $4,300 on Chrono but rule of thumb is always take off 10-20% from chrono prices so like I said $3,500-3,800 is probably the correct market price . Breitling is like how Rolex use to be 5+ years ago. You could always ask for a 15-30% discount at AD and will find them for 30-50% the price in grey market .
Superocean Heritage is class. I have that as my daily next to a Rolex Explorer 42 Polar, Datejust 41 white gold jubilee, AP offshore diver and Presi Everose Anniversary. It looks amazing next to the big boys and very close in quality and finish. Enjoy it it’s a super quality piece and great daily! Cheers 👍
No, don't listen to this nonsense. Just enjoy your watch, that's all that really matters. It's a great piece, wear it in good health. The great thing about a new watch is all the little scratches, dings etc. are from you, so the watch tells your story.
Actually, if you were wearing a Crosswind back in '98, you felt in no way inferior to a Sub wearer. Come Kern, Breitling turned/got streamlined into s@*t. It is more in the ranks of Tag today and nowhere near Rolex.
Eric is still an expert regardless if his video did not appeal to you. That is why it is called a "shorts". Post your own video and let's see who watches it.
Breitling is to horology what Techno does is to music. The Navitimer Chronograph AB0127 is a great watch. The Chronomat 44 AB0111 (limited brushed steel with the red accents is a workhorse comparable to the Submariner in performance but too chunky and therefore neither timeless or elegant). The Superocean is just a complete waste of time. It looks outdated and kinda desperate and better to buy on the used market… but if you go there better to buy a Cartier Santos.

Solid advice. Love my Breitling. It is a historic brand that is very well made but alway buy second market or grey market.

Go for the 806 from say 1967. Cheaper then the speedy and just as iconic. Just don’t look at water, they hate water…
