“Slow and Low” groovy album for Ryan and George is the “Youthanasia” album
- Addicted to Chaos
- Reckoning Day
- A Tout Le Monde
- Killing Road
- I thought I knew it All
Great album! And Daves best vocal performance
Yea i hope they dont sleep on that one. that would be their favorite
I agree with you Reckoning Day and Addicted to Chaos !
💯 the older I get, it’s the one I go back to the most! So much groove and amazing song writing.
YES! DUDE YES! Criminally underrated album and absolutely Dave Mustaine at his vocal best.
Reckoning Day is great, but A Tout Le Monde might annoy them. Family Tree might work because Dave's Vocals aren't as nasally on it. I like "This Was My Life" off the Countdown to Extinction album because it has a great melody/grove to it, but Dave's vocals on that track would irritate them haha. Countdown To Extinction is also another great one.
When it comes time to do 'Dawn Patrol', you may as well let it lead into 'Rust in Peace... Polaris' as it is considered a lead-in. The track 'Rust in Peace... Polaris' was written from the perspective of a nuclear warhead carrying ballistic missile called 'Polaris'
Good idea
It spreads disease
Yeah Dawn Patrol is a cool bass track but it’s definitely like a “part 1” to Rust in Peace
I agree. Dawn Patrol on its own won't make a good section video.
Don't give it away haha. Let them hear it first.
These guys doing the entire Rust In Peace album is my early Christmas gift.
Hell yeah 🤘
My early Birthday gift
The ultimate gift ❤
It took them long enough. 😂
Lucretia is (in my opinion) the most underrated song on the album. Hope you guys enjoy it!
1000% correct.
Best Marty Friedman solo in my opinion
Coming back a day later to say that they did in fact love it.
@@222MovieMan é o suficiente para fazer um homem feito chorar
Megadeths ability to play at a high level is amplified in their live performances. To sing and riff at the same time the way Mustaine does is outrageous talent
I met Dave Mustane, founder of Megadeth. Met him at a charity event in NYC! Super nice guy, extremely respectful and humble. He interacted with the charity staff like we were very cool and very important.. and he was nothing, just a rocker. I was very impressed. He clearly had great respect for the charity work.
Que história bacana! Dave Mustaine é um dos meus heróis na música.
I'm friends with a guy who toured with Megadeth in the mid 2000s and he had not one bad word to say about Dave. Dave was really nice to everyone at all times.
When I learned guitar in middle school I had some Metallica tab books and was feeling pretty good about my ability. One Christmas I got the Rust in Peace tab book and after an hour I put it down and got out the Metallica book again. I wasn't ready yet😂
Took me ten years after buying the book.
@@notsure1135I could play it after the first day
@@GeorgeZimmermen I could play it before it was written.
@@GeorgeZimmermen yet nobody has ever heard of you and likely never will…
@@notsure1135 I could play it after the first 30 min of learning guitar. The whole album.
This is insane to play on guitar , Megadeth always has top tier guitarists and Marty and Dave's pinnacle album is Rust in Peace
And mustaine SINGS over that insane riff!! Unbelievable!!
Slow and Low: Addicted to Chaos and Angry Again. Promise.
Of Mice and Men as well
Addicted to Chaos…all day
Add sweating bullets to that list
Almost anything in Cryptic Writings.
Same with "go to hell".
I’ve been playing guitar for over 15 years and this song hard as hell to play
Lol I feel ya brother
Same. Nuts.
Yup
This song's main riff and its variations are practically a banjo bluegrass riff which is crazy to pull off in a distorted electric guitar
This song is s good example of why they're considered one of the Big 4 of thrash/speed metal.🤘 The groove also makes me think of Motorhead
Il ya un côté Punk.
I was waiting for you all to review this one. The solo break down with the descending guitar part is so fire.
'Poison was the cure'... is a rager when Megadeth plays it in concert 🤘🤘🔥🔥 I recall going to Megadeth shows and when the drums kicked into gear, the room started spinning w/ the pit... It's a great track to mosh to... 😈
Although it hasn't been played live over 10/20yrs... 😢
@@johnnyg2002 bulls+++
Megadeth has played it in the last 10 yrs on tour.
Imo poison was the cure is the hardest song to play on guitar. Maybe Holy wars sounds faster and harder but no this song is impossible hahahaha
As a guitar player, yes it is more than difficult, the riff is insane to play, i really don't know how Dave plays and sings this song live.
It took me way more time to learn to play the verse riff correctly than the actual solo, which is hard on itself
Hook in Mouth is one of their most underrated songs in my opinion. Please do it.
use to love that track . great riff and hook and mouth lol
Underrated?
It's widely regarded as a classic Megadeth track.
Yeah man, that's the song that got me listening to Megadeth
Not a highlight of the album but still awesome... Megadeth had a way of dragging ultra proficient hard to play thrash metal into something that competes with the punk immediacy and scrappiness. Mustaine's snarl pushes it even further into the punk sphere. I fn love Megadeth for being able to do that balancing act.
Thrash = british metal + punk
I always thought of this song as Megadeth doing a Motorhead song, even though it is an original composition
Great Megadeth songs to cover would be "dread and the fugitive mind" and "trust." Both off albums you may not have done so far too
loved your first review of them, I have been hooked since. When I listen to your reviews, you point out things I missed in songs I love and then I go back and relisten.
Yall got to do Countdown to Extinction guys very good groove on that albums and you guys just need to listen to music doesn't have to always be a Playlist I never use Playlist I just listen js I've been with you guys since the beginning
For me is the waterdown version of Rust in Peace.
Slowing down to Judas Priest tempo.
@@user-qv4fg8wb5c Still a nice album tho, some funny stuff and the uptempo tracks are all timers imo
This guitar riff always reminds me of back in the village by Iron Maiden. Nick’s drumming also reminds me of old Clive Burr from early maiden days in this track as well.
I believe this song and 5 Magics were actually written during previous albums, which makes them even more impressive; they were the "didn't make the cut" songs. (!!!)
Lucretia has, IMO, the best solo in the entire album
Lucretia is THE SONG!
Marty has a great solo on that one.
@@gigaphoniconso does Dave. I think the solos on Lucretia are greater than tornado of souls.
the grooves are friggin hard and the solo is just pure fire
yes, really groovy
Between Rust & Youth (90 to 95ish) - they were at the top of their game imo
The line-up, the speed, the riffs, the aggression. Thrash legends
I think Set the World Afire is the greatest Megadeth song. Right there with Holy Wars.
Absolute banger. And so is that album
Yeahhhh...
you're not ready guys! ahahaha one of the most complicated song to play on guitars!
Yeah, I know a lot of early Megadeth on guitar but there are a few songs I am intimidated to try and learn haha. This being one of them. I was intimidated by Looking Down the Cross (last riff) and Skull Beneath the Skin (Riff after the drum break) but they were easier than they sound… this one on the other hand I know is hard as hell haha
Lucrecia is about a ghost that haunted Dave after he put salt on his grits
I think you guys would really like a straight forward Megadeth song like Angry Again or even Symphony of Destruction.
Angry again was my thought as well
They've done Symphony & don't think they liked it
High Speed Dirt
Trust
Almost Honest
@@jasongode6179 Oh really? Is it a subscriber only video? I can't find it on UA-cam.
@@k7stingray My apologies;; I believe I was thinking of 'Symphony. But; they do have videos on Patreon;; maybe I saw it there...... I'm unsure, because I haven't paid for Patreon in years. Once again, I apologize.
And Justice For All really should be the next album y'all do in its entirety. Ryan will flip out on the drumming!
Been wit ya homies for a while now, glad to see you wrap up this albums gifts to metal! I know we had our differences, but glad to see yall still here and still not aged!? Cheers! \m/
No but Fr though they look exactly the same as they did when they started this channel lol
@@joeyuzwa891Black don't crack. 🤣🤣🤣
When I was a middle school kid in the 1990’s learning to play guitar and drums there were a few albums I would listen to on repeat and stand in awe at what the album represented. One such album was And Justice For All. I listened to that over and over and over on repeat, and grew a deep appreciation for the message the album conveyed. It even reinforced the spirit of independence that my parents installed in me from a young age. But the one that you would most likely find in my CD player in the mid 90’s was Rust in Peace. No other album comes close to the absolute technical masterpiece those guys created. Every sound on that album was developed and executed with such intention and precision, in my opinion. Combined with the overall theme of the album, makes this one virtually untouchable. Some bands are coming close to returning to that style of album composition, rather than focusing on “hit singles” and a bunch of filler. But so far I have yet to see anything quite like it.
I think you should react to the more comercial side of Megadeth. Songs like Trust, A Tout Le Monde, Symphony of Destruction, Angry Again etc... I think you would enjoy that music more.
Yeah man. I think they’d love Symphony of Destruction!
Tried to learn this song on guitar in my early teens, not only does it sound hard because of the speed it's difficult to get down properly due to insane rhythm skills that Mustaine has..
Nuances and small but important details make the all the difference
I still can't get it lol. It's this and Liar I feel are Daves hardest riffs and maybe Mary Janes riff at 1:30 seconds or so when he does the natural harmonic stuff. I haven't seen a clean cover of that riff yet.
Killing is my Business is unbelievably difficult as well.
Megadeth songs in general have little things to them if you want to get the right tone and phrasing.
Glad these guys can appreciate the complexity and musicianship of Mustaine and his band mates.
The ending is where that song really shines...
I am repeating what millions say and that is the entire album is a game changer. 🤘🤘 NOT one bad song, NOT one filler. The whole package deal here.
The style of this song is quite jazzy, like the original Megadeth style ("Killing is My Business" album)
Would love you guys to also do Countdown to Extinction And Youthanasia LPs
The slowed down groove of Addicted to Chaos off Youthanasia (1994) would be playlist for you guys.
Can't wait for you blokes to review Lucretia! Amazing song and solos!
One of the best metal albums of all time! You guys need to PLEASE do all of And Justice next. Fast, slow, vocals, tone, riffs, solos... literally a masterpiece
yeah once they start asking where the bass is it will be great
A few songs on justice are a minute too long
@renaatsenechal NO. BLASPHEMY. THEYRE NOT LONG ENOUGH... lmao I'm only half joking. That's how much I love it, dude. Literally every single note of every song is an eargasm
I was going to comment how Megadeth is the Eminem of Rap but you guys mentioned it WHILE I was typing it. 🤘
I thought Eminem was the Eminem of rap.
My favourite metal song of all time!
You guys would love Countdown and Youthanasia. As awesome as their early stuff is, their first batch of albums are their least digestible to the average ear. Countdown has a good mix of some thrash stuff with some commercial stuff and Youthanasia is heavy, dark and has a lot of groove.
Love what you guys do!!!
🤘😈
Rust in Peace polaris has my fav Megadeth guitar riff or probably just my fav riff im general.
Even when I don't like your reviews, I do appreciate 'em 'cause they're authentic! :D And you're fun to watch.
Young metallers, so much energy flowing on that album. Dave snaring and spitting, as he does...
Almost no metal lyrics should be taken 100% seriously, then the magic vanishes. It's more like serious + silly. \m/
I cannot wait for you guys to get the last track... omg.
I don't think they're ready for that. 🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘🤘
This is such an iconic album now. I can remember my teenage years listening to this album and for me it’s as good now as it was then. I love this track it’s mental… Lucretia “rocks away “
Yall gotta check out “The Shortest Straw”
Isn't that Metallica?
Metallica one is The Longest Straw.
Metallica Reload was the FINAL straw
@@hoodootheclown929🤣🤣🤣
Before watching this reaction, I'm guessing they're both not going to like this one. It's very straightforward thrash, which tends to not go over well. The intro will probably grab them, cause it's interesting, but then, after the drum fill, which I think they'll love, it'll go into that sound they just don't care for. Let's see....
After watching the reaction, Ryan NAILED the comparison about playing guitar and speaking. Yes, articulating at such a high level of speed is nuts. One thing that surprises me is how both Ryan and George are able to see past their personal taste, and just be impressed by what's going on.
This song is probably my least liked on the album, but it's still an impressive listen. I'm anxious to see what they think of Lucretia, one of my favorites, and probably one of the most 'song'-like off the album. The one I'm really waiting for is Polaris, since that's actually got a groove.
Also, if you guys read this - you really NEED to do Dawn Patrol and Polaris together, as Dawn Patrol is kind of a segue into Polaris. Cheers.
awesome guys!
This absolutely was a technical all star cast of players on this album, (and Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia and Hidden Treasures). But you seriously said it best when you said this was a lineup of all stars because it was
You guys need to react to architecture of aggression. Honestly anything off of countdown to extinction you guys will like since it’s mostly mid tempo stuff👍
I'd love to hear your reaction to "Good Mourning/Black Friday" from peace sells...it's so raw and sloppy and crazy but I think it's their magnum opus...
I love the speed man. Megadeth crushes.
The main riff in this song is SO bluesy and groovy, but it's also fast AF. If you played that half speed, it would sound like any blues riff.
I covered every song on this album on guitar in the past, and this was the hardest song to get down, at least for me.
I was just looking at my UA-cam subscription history when I realized that I've subscribed to this channel since 2017, and just where the f'ck have the last seven years of my life gone? It doesn't feel like 7 years.
*Coincidentally, it was the reaction to Holy Wars that first brought me here, I saw it mentioned on online guitar magazine article. There's some strange serendipity in today's video being another song from that album.
And you should do Lucretia.
Rust in Peace is a masterpiece, Holy Wars is the best album opener of all time in any genre ever! I had this CD and we'd blast it every morning on the way to school! 🤘
Please when you’re done do one bonus song and do Ashes in Your Mouth from Countdown to Extinction! It’s heavy, catchy, hooky, and shreddy. Best composed song in their catalogue in my opinion! You wouldn’t great it!
By far, the hardest punk song ever written, this is ain’t thrash, simply brilliant.
If yall want a Megadeth song that is just straight forward with a simple groove with catchy hooks on the vocals , check Symphony of Destruction . Its a mid paced solid and easy to just bob your head to type of banger . Thanx guys !
You’re not tripping, those fast guitar riffs are hard as hell to play
Ive seen Megadeth live six times and they never disappoint.
That was highly entertaining, Wow! Great job guys
If you're looking for a groove, look into Wake up Dead, Symphony of Destruction (not sure if you did that one) or The Killing Road. Those would give you a good groove.
Cheers
7:08 Yup, this is me in 🏀, and I can't help it, and I have a saying...
"If you're not on the edge of losing control, you're not going fast enough".
To me, this song always sounds like a pirate one. I can imagine like pirates shout arremba! and turn on this composition while robbing a ship ))
Every song on this album is great.
this riff, is beyond difficult. i can play a lot of megadeth on guitar, and this song is EVIL to try and pull off as you say, at speed with zero mistakes
It's one of those weird ones that looks like it should be ok in theory, too. Just looks like a blues lick sped up. Getting anywhere close to that tempo is a bitch though, and then sustaining that for the whole damn song?!
You guys need to hear Megadeths Peace Sells for the rhythm. That's one you can groove to.
This was the best line up megadeth had, just so freaking good, this album is pure fire
I think that the producer, Mike Clink, had a lot to do with why this album ended up being so great. He also produced the Appetite For Destruction album for Guns N' Roses, which I highly recommend as another album that you guys should review start to finish. The entire thing is amazing.
Thank you
This song always reminded me a bit of Iron Maiden's "Back in the Village"
Best solo on the album. Very underrated song
It doesn't just sound difficult... It *IS* difficult ...and thats a huge understatement!!
If anyone's into Guitar Hero games, this song is BY FAR the most fun guitar track to play. Rock Band 2 released the full Rust in Peace album as playable tracks and all of them are fun, but the nonstop note stream of this one is just crazy satisfying to pull off and not *too* hard to play compared to other crazy difficult songs in the series.
Well you're in for a treat on this one... because this is one of the fastest Megadeth songs ever lol. Can't wait for you guys to do "Rust In Peace... Polaris". Insanely groovy and catchy sounding song.
This is an amazing album.
I'd be curious of your take on some some songs from the Youthanasia album. A Tout le Monde would be a good one since it's a popular track and definitely way off from the normal thrashy Megadeth.
addicted to chaos is still the best on there
I think they would like Blood of Heroes the most... because they seem to like chug riffs and they don't like it when Dave sings in Mickey Mouse key.
A Tout le Monde is not juke and jiving. These guys ears are tuned to rap and hip hop, not Third Eye Blind and MatchBox Twenty 🤣. They need something more along the lines of Angry Again, Go to Hell, Hook in Mouth, Ashes in Your Mouth, Addicted to Chaos, Mastermind. I would say almost all of Youthanasia except A Tout le Monde.
You guys have to do something from Countdown to Extinction or Youthanasia. Those albums are their slow and low material. Also it should be noted Dave Mustaine plays and sings these songs at the same time and that's just absolutely wild.
You guys would like Angry Again the song. As far as albums, i think you would enjoy Youthanasia or Countdown to Extinction
I agree. It seems like they have started at the wrong point in the Megadeth catalog. I think they will really enjoy songs from Youthanasia through Cryptic Writings, even songs like 99 Ways to Die and Angry Again from Hidden Treasures.
COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION is their equivalent to metallica black album
this song its craaazy hard to play... its one of the hardest on the album... this song, rust in peace, take no prisoners and overall the whole album for me its a testament on why dave's rhythm skills are higher than james are...
They really need to review the full Youthanasia album, they'll be hooked on some of those songs for life
This song is fantastic and part of the best album of all times !
If any musician can play through the album, they are on a top tier plane that few are on. This really is a incredibly technical album.
This is by far their hardest riff to play. The speed and accuracy you need to play it is ridiculous.
Absolutely, I'm pretty sure dave mustaine wasn´t able to play this song's main riff
Metal fans and critics always point to Master and Raining Blood as the GOAT of the Thrash Album canon (and most deservedly), but RIP needs to be automatically added to that conversation!!
I think RIP is better than Peace Sells!!
You should listen to Frayed ends of sanity by Metallica. It's from And justice for all album and it's an underrated gem.
This is one of the sickest riffs ever.
Yeah this riff is like some classic blues rock on speed times a million, so much so it sounds like chicken picken' metal. Absolutely wild because there are string skips and I have been playing for decades and cant play this that fast clean. Than again I haven't practiced it or "Woodsheeded" the song for days on end but still. its a wild song.
And this needs to be said: production wise, this album is FLAWLESS! And they didn't need to remix or remaster it!
One of the greatest thrash albums of all time
The riffs are hard enough to play. What impresses me the most is Dave being able to sing anything while playing them.
my favorite metal record of all time
if you like some slow stuff, listen to Strange World by Iron Maiden. Their first two albums are my favorites.
