Finishing this album shows why it is absolutely one of the top 5 metal albums EVER and many would argue 1 or 2
Joint greatest thrash album ever along with ...AJFA for me.
AJFA imo is better than MOP. When I bought the cassette it absolutely floored me! And having guitar magazine cover songs from this album was so cool!!!
@@beefcheeks9353man dude if that album had the production that mop had it would definitely be their best
Try top 1
To me it's Master of Puppets #1, Rust #2....but it's close... I mean, for thrash...metal overall belongs to vintage sabbath...
My favorite megadeth lyric. My friends all say "Dave, you're mental anyway."
"HEY!"
Dave has friends?
Slash was his friend. Actually slash almost joined Megadeth before Marty Friedman because Dave and Slash loved smoking crack together lol Slash wrote in his book that for like 2 weeks he was high AF and consider joining Megadeth
@@vosman86 That’s very interesting. Dave should get Slash on board now. It’ll make things even more interesting.
@@MehtaKyaKehtaYeah according to Slash’ book. He said he and Dave wrote some amazing stuff together because of there crazy different styles. But they were too high to remember it or write it down lol 😆
Slash holds Daves songwriting and rhythm ability in the highest regard
1st solo at 7:04 ( mesmerizing, melodic, sounds like the guitar is singing ) was by Marty Friedman, and the 2nd solo at 7:43 ( aggressive, chaotic, off-the-rails ) was by Dave Mustaine. Perfect song to highlight the polarity in styles between those two, what made Megadeth the GOAT of guitar-based metal.
its not polarity in styles, its Dave's inability to play vs one of the greatest solo guitar players ever.
“Inability to play” as a way to describe Dave Mustaine certainly is a take
@@moneyball32Agreed. Not my take, but certainly is one.
@@Balovante you might want to correct yourself and say “Daves inability to play lead” because he’s incredible as a rhythm player and songwriter
@@BalovanteMustaine has his moments and places where I would prefer his maniacal shredding over Friedman's tasteful class ( Holy Wars ). Anything with a fast, pounding rhythm over the root chord calls for Mustaine.
Ashes in your mouth is another underrated Megadeth song. Never get enough love for the nasty grooves and transitions. One of their best songs fr
When you eventually circle back to Megadeth, check out Addicted to Chaos off Youthanasia or Angry Again. You'll dig the groove!
Addicted To Chaos is one of my favorite songs from them, great groove, good riffs, and one of Dave's best and most emotional writing and vocal performances
Youthanasia as an album is somehow still criminally under-rated. Addicted to Chaos is always on the top of my list of favorites from it.
I second Angry Again, Ryan would love it.
No way, Killing Road off of Youth.
Addicted to Chaos is very similar to Van Halen's Drop Dead Legs@@HalfUnder
I told you it was the most underrated track! This song is such a bop.
It’s completely impossible to not move your head along to it
Idk if I would say it's the MOST underrated but it's underrated for sure. It's a 🔥track.
@@4ytcomment the whole album is so good that there were bound to be some tracks that would sadly be overshadowed. What would you say is the most underrated track on the album??
@@samskott2344 You know I thought I had an argument for maybe 5 Magics or even RIP Polaris... but I think you are right. It probably is Lucretia. lol Good call.
@@4ytcomment I respect that! To be fair though, 5 Magics would be my second pick for most underrated. There's just something about Lucretia though. It just goes so hard.
this entire album is a MOTHERFUCKING MASTERPIECE
Thrashterpiece..!!
Lucretia is Megadeth’s best song and I’ve never understood why people didn’t agree. Insane groove, insane chord progressions, great melodies, great rhythms and Marty’s best solo.
Nothing sounds like it too, before or since. So unique.
Ashes in your mouth too bro. Nastyness
Absolutely right. There's nothing like Lucretia. The actual best Megadeth song and it passed by all the time.
Can I get an A-MEN!
In my opinion, Lucretia has the best solo Marty did on this album. The way he comes in at the beginning and embellishes the power chords with chord tones is unreal. Only Marty would play something like that. The way Dave's solo comes in is also quite sick. This is my favourite song on this album.
Didn’t Marty Friedman also say that it was his best (or favorite solo) from Rust In Peace.
It's my second favorite song on the album after Tornado of Souls.
Real ones know this is one of their best songs and solos 🔥🔥
Rest assured, a ton of us Deth fans been waiting patiently for this particular reaction. This is my 2nd favorite song by the Mighty MD 🔥
Rust* assured
@@metalmanny666
Fu**. Damn I dropped the ball. Kudos 👌
I've never clicked so fast once I saw Lucretia haha. The groove on this is impossible not to bop your head to and the solos are phenomenal.
He said "MD Fans"... fml.
@@simongranados4170
What’s the problem here dude?
Dawn patrol is short. You can do that one and the other song that follows it Rust in Peace which is the last song of the album in one video
yeah, dawn patrol is just an interlude.
up!
they filmed all this 4 months ago
I agree, they'll be left with their ears hanging out for more, with the singular bassline that goes nowhere.
@@metler7642for real, it’s a fun track and i love playing it on bass but it doesnt really go anywhere except straight into rust in peace
Glad to see Lucretia get its flowers. My favourite Megadeth song and one of my favourite songs of all time. Absolute masterpiece!
Lucretia is the ghost that lived in his attic. It would sit in his grandmother's rocking chair and rock back and forth in the moonlight.
8:41 When my mother ask me and my brother if we want mac and cheese for dinner
😂😂😂😂
8:42 synchronized yeaaaaah
yeaaaaaaaah
Noooooo
Underrated song, underrated solo. Top tier.
That album is so great from start to finish, all killer no filler. It's amazing to me how some bands, for whatever reasons, get hit with tons of inspiration all at once and make a flawless album. Rust in Peace was that moment for Megadeth.
I think they were in much better shape addiction wise by this album.... they were in bad shape during So Far So good...
Got some better musicians too.
I love Rust in Peace, what a masterpiece of a record.
I played Lucrecia over and over again when I was in middle school. Alway my 2nd favorite song after Holy Wars.
Great reaction fellas 👏🏻
The whole album is a masterpiece!!
Thrashterpiece..!!
One of the sickest metal riffs ever.
Rust In Peace/Polaris is a crazy finale song at the end. Some crazy riffing going on. You guys will enjoy that too!
Keep this MegaDeth party going!!!! Love it!!!!!!!
Dude. If you're going to capitalize two letters in the name of this band, you have to do it right.... it's MegadetH
@@megadev9099 OK Karen!!!!
Damn! You guys are making my day with these Megadeth reactions! Always love the enthusiasm and energy you have when you find things you like about a song I have loved for years. 👍🏻🤘🏻
Thank you for saving me the key strokes on this. Was gonna say the same thing!!
SAME
Love Megadeath, first metal concert I ever went to, back in the early 90s. Y-all had me rolling on this one!
This song is so ridiculously amazing. Grooves with giant balls.
Admittedly I haven't watched many LiV videos the past couple years, but this one came up on my feed and gosh you guys crack me up. When you guys are riffing with each other at 5:00 about the song name I'm sitting here with the biggest damn grin on my face. Glad to see you guys are still thriving. Be well!
All the songs on this album are hits !
Syncopation is the word you were looking for! Keep up the great work fellas. Megadeth rules!
"Dave, you're mental anyway, hey!
IMO, people don’t always tend to recommend the “best” songs, just the most popular. This is a classic example.
I'm sure people have said it before... this is quite possibly the best Megadeth lineup EVER.
This album - top 5 metal albums ever.
The Nick and Marty era is definitely my favorite
In 2010 they played this whole album live & shot a dvd of it. It's on YT. if y'all want groove, do ARCHITECTURE OF AGGRESSION, PSYCHOTRON, CAPTIVE HONOUR, ASHES IN YOUR MOUTH, BLACK CURTAINS, ELYSIAN FIELDS.....there's MANY more.
Masterpiece.
Thank God I saw these guys in Sydney in 91 when I was a kid, never will forget.
Good Mourning Black Friday
And Bad Omen
Bad Omen is amazing
My Last Words
Up this
Whole Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?
Been following you guy's since the Holy Wars reaction dropped. Glad to see youre finally finishing off the album. The funny thing is groove wise with Megadeth you've just started to scratch the surface.
8:03 I miss this Dave. He always had some really cool technique and riff that made him stand out with really good lead players. That slide into that lick is soo sick.
That year gave us 2 master pieces: Rust in Peace & Painkiller. Even Judas & Megadeth were together in tour. I was there... what a year !!
its just occured to me that this song sounds a bit like victim of changes
Those two albums actually came out the SAME DAY!
3, there was also Cowboys From Hell
The riff before the solo then that backing riff for Marty's solo is some amazing stuff.
Absolutamente perfeito, meu amigo!
Love this song! Watching your reactions make me remember my 1st time hearing these songs. Thank you!
Rust in Peace is Megadeth at their peak, an absolute classic! Have you guys listened to Countdown to Extinction yet? Probably their most known album and has their biggest hits on it, the one I grew up with! And I get what you guys are saying, you can appreciate music even if you don't like it! Your reaction to this one has me on the floor in tears, never thought about this music in that way and it's epic! Haven't heard this song since the 90's and I remember it being funky and making me groove! Lucrecia!! 🔥🔥
Metal head for 40+ years, and this is def one of the best Megadeth songs ever.
This song was always underrated in my opinion and to see you guys get so hyped for it made my heart so happy you have no idea. Megadeth was the first band I ever purchased a cd of and I've never been disappointed
Gives me so much joy watching you guys love songs that I’ve loved for so long - please don’t ever stop
The second half of the solo was actually Dave. Which is crazy but also not surprising because Dave has some serious solo chops. I think you guys are also gonna enjoy Rust in Peace...Polaris a lot. There's a good amount of groove in that song as well.
This may be my favorite solo with Tornado's one...This album is unreal, sometimes I forget about it and when I come back to it my jaw drops, everytime, with almost every song...riffs, solos, speed, technicallity and musicallity for days
Mine too, whole heartedly agree. And I learned all the rhythm section on the guitar, and it's ridiculously fun to play
@@thedaywerevolt it sure sounds fun, I should try to learn it on drums, doesn't sound too difficult and it's groovy as hell!
Man I love this. Not only the fact you're really groovin to Megadeth's best album but you guys make me feel like I'm hearing this album for the first time. Even though I was just listening to it yesterday 😂 Definitely want to see "Ashes In Your Mouth, Good Mourning Black Friday and Victory"
Absolutely love this channel. Love watching you guys react to this stuff. And it's cool being able to listen to classic songs to me through new ear's. It makes me notice parts of songs that I've either forgotten about, or had just never noticed.
PLEASE check out some Children of Bodom! They have plenty of grooves and master class musicianship! You guys may not tolerate the vocals at first (i was a little turned off initially, but they grew on me) but the music speaks for itself.
Lucretia by Megadeth - awesome!!! Many thanks for reacting to these Rust In Peace songs! For future Megadeth don't miss:
Train Of Consequences
Foreclosure Of A Dream
I Thought I Knew It All
Blood of Heroes
Addicted To Chaos
Angry Again
I think both Youthanasia and Countdown To Extinction are totally underrated albums. The songs on these are real gems! Melodic, heavy, funky, matured, beautiful, and emotional stuff!
Syncopation is what you like about the pauses and how it catches your ear
Marty's solo in this has gotto be my favorite of all time. It's just so perfect
The single greatest guitar album in the history of music. Absolute masterclass in writing and execution.
Easy there buddy.
Much love to both of you as human beings. It’s been dope to see you both develop and grow as men.
I LOVED this reaction.. this is one of my favorite albums, I knew you would go crazy on the crazy accents of the grooves.. the rhythmics here are insane, they always fry me into a crisp.
You guys have been entertaining me and making me laugh for over 6 years now, thanks!
Greatest guitar solo by Marty ever in my book
One of your best reaction so far ! I love when you two are so freaking pumped by a Megadeth song, because we know when a Megadeth song hits you two, it hits HARD ! Your reactions were priceless ! Can't wait for the Dawn Patrol / Polaris reaction. Nearly 35 years later, this album is still so relevant. I discovered Megadeth when this album came out, still listening to it to this day, it's a freaking timeless masterpiece.
Edit: on a side-note, you should definitely react to Dawn Patrol and Polaris back to back, because those two are linked. Dawn Patrol is a sort of intro to Polaris and is relatively short.
they did them together, this was already on the subscription channel
These are by far the best reactions of all reactions. Hilarious and spot on analysis.
Had to subscribe and like this, best Megadeth song ever written in my opinion and your guys’ reactions are always on point!!
This might be my favorite from the album, such a killer track. Loved your reaction guys, just what I expected haha
I had this song in a polyphonic ringtone when that was big on flip phones.
I've been waiting for this one! Let's go!!
This has always been my favorite song on this album. Never thought about why, but y'all nailed it. It's the groove!
I love it when I'm right. When you guys did the reaction vid for Holy Wars, I knew if you did a vid for Lucretia you would LOVE it! It's my 2nd fave song behind Holy Wars on the album. The groove is infectious.
I KNEW you guys would love this one! It's SUCH a great groove.
Dave’s solo is great, Marty’s solo is just fantastic, every single time I hear this solo I escape into the music, it’s just so good!
Contrast between Marty and Dave solos is just incredible
My favourite song along holy wars from this album.
Kept waiting for them to get to this. Knew they'd love it!
Hey guys, there solo was just not Marty. It was in 2 parts the 1st embellished melody is Marty & the 2nd part is all Dave's. The 2 of those guys were so epic playing together!
Tornado of Souls, Poison Was The Cure, & Lucretia might be my favorite triple threat chunk of any album featuring guitar wizardry.
I just discovered you guys yesterday when I was walking and you were doing holy wars I believe and then I went to your old videos and it’s just Just really enjoyable to see the transformation of your knowledge and appreciation for the music I can see now that you actually enjoy some of the shit that it comes from understanding it as well kudos
You guys are the best! Thank you for your, always, insightful and entertaining reactions. Thank you, from a 65 year Canadian Prairie boy. 🙏🙏
It’s like watching two excited children opening a rad present at Christmas during this reaction, love it
When Ryan says “ THIS MIGHT BE THE ONE!” That’s when you know the song really be cookin 🧑🍳
This was the first album both Daves made not being on drugs. Mustaine went to rehab before they did this album and he came out of there with something to prove, and he certainly did that.
there is a reason why they are the greatest metal band of all time, met dave a few times, one of the coolest dude ever
Been waiting so long for this one! Absolutely insane track. One of the best metal albums of all time. Y’all would absolutely love Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia too, insane grooves and riffs all over those records 🤘
Good morning/ Black Friday by megadeth is by far the greatest metal song ever made. Harmony, solo, riffing everything. Y’all need to do peace sells but who’s buying album it’s from the early days of megadeth when the still had garr and Chris pollard. That album made me love metal because those 2 paired with Dave really caught my ear and I’m rooted in rap since I was a kid! Very worth a listen
My favorite is Devils Island
Great reaction fellas! This is a banger! Look forward to your reactions every week. Always a great time
I love how your reactions on this album are GENUINE!!! You guys are acting exactly how I did the first time I heard it. 💯❤️🔥
I knew it! My favorite song off this one. Your reaction was just how I envisioned it.
A smile on my face during the whole video.
Been practicing this on guitar for over a month. Awesome track.
You’re right. There’s so much going on in this track it’s unbelievable.
People who don’t appreciate heavy metal have no idea of the talent necessary to play tracks like this.
Lucretia and Dawn Patrol are my 2 most favorite groove songs. I absolutely agree with you, this is such a fun song and a break from Megadeth’s shred songs
Man, I have watched a ton of your guys' videos over the years. I always thought that Brian reminded me of someone, but I just couldn't place it. But here I am ay 11pm, two gummies and a whiskey in to the night...and it dawned on me.
Brian looks like if you tried to draw Darryl Armstrong from memory.
All of these tracks were released on the same album that's the crazy part, I love metallica and my favourite song is from their discography but I'm not sure they have such album in terms of consistency as rust in peace has. Great reaction, you guys always have the right energy to match what you re listening to
I remember when I first got this tape. EVERY song is SOLID!! I even have all the intrumental songs from it. It's one of my favorite album covers of all-time [it's got that Majestic-12 vibe!!]
There was a guy from the last video who said yall would love this and I’m very glad he called it
My favourite Megadeth song. That goes a long way because they are an all time favourite band.. Love it when others discover this one :D
Watching rehearsal vids of Megadeth in this era is incredible to see the chemistry between Dave David nick Marty pretty much untouchable. I think the solos on this song first solo Marty last solo Dave are so different in ways but go so well together. Megadeth has so many albums you will find groove for sure.
This was the song which got me to listen to Megadeth 30+ years ago. It never got old.
Easily the most underrated Megadeth song. It never got much attention. 2 of the best solos ever recorded that perfectly fit the song.
That solo just keeps going! So tasty, this was always one of my favourite Megadeth tunes.
listening to this for the first time in 1990, i knew it was a classic. every song on it is awesome.
In 1990 when this record came out, this was the first song I remember hearing on heavy metal radio.
You fall automatically in love with the solo when you hear it
I think this song has the 2nd best solo out of the whole album (Tornado of Souls is my favorite). And this album is absolutely loaded with fire solos throughout! 🎸
