My little girl only poops on me when I try to put clothes on her . Otherwise, only in the water bowl. The problem is that she also does it in that spot when the water bowl is currently being cleaned.
I've had my beardie for two years now and he is the most relaxed animal I have ever met. The world could be exploding around him and he'd just blink and lick the nearest object.
Man one time there was a crazy thunder storm, my dragon didn't even flinch. He barely moved during an earthquake too. I put him in a bath and he acts like he's being drowned.
I am always overheated because of an autoimmune disorder, so my brothers' baby dragon has decided my hands are the best place to take a nap, and even though she doesn't know me that well she will fall asleep on me. I've never been more honored in my life ;_;
If you are a new reptile keeper looking at buying a bearded dragon PLEASE rescue one instead. Bearded dragons are massively over bred and lots end up neglected and need rescuing.
Rescued mine from a local animal rescue and he was in a poor state 2 years later hes happy and fit, but there's a lack of bond and he has a hard time trusting me, I'm guessing his previous owner mistreated him ;(
County animal shelters will end up with them occasionally, either from surrenders or animal control-which is how I ended up with mine. Those shelters could very well know of specialized rescues that they work with when exotics come in. Local herp societies are often associated with rescues as well.
@@tinytrashpanda2029 The over breeding of bearded dragons does not occur in Australia like it does in the US. Possibly due to most states needing a permit to own one
A Gila monster is probably the closest thing to the lizards described in the book, but that wouldn’t be as easy to film without making it completely CGI
Oh yeah, reminds me how in so many crime mystery shows my parents watch theres something about "terryfying, deadly venomus snake" and they just show a ball python or a corn snake 😂
I have a 6 year old beardie named Bob! Whenever I got her I was 14 and assumed she was a boy, but once I figured out her gender I kept the name because it was silly to me lol. She was my best friend throughout my teens and the most chill creature I have ever owned (I’ve had a lot of pets). I used to sneak her into the movie theater with my friends and I, and once the lights when off I’d set her on my lap and she’d watch the movie with us. Good times 😂
One thing I would like to point out to a lot of people, remember Bearded Dragons will live for 10+ years. Try and anticipate whether or not you are still going to be as excited about looking after one a decade down the line. How excited you feel now, will almost always not be the case a few years down the line, whether you grow from a teenager to an adult in that time, whether or not your living arrangments will change, are you going to be willing to pay for food/electricity/husbandry for that amount of time? Many things to think about. Buying a Beardie is not like buying a Hamster which will die in 2-3 years, its a very big undertaking. Its because of this, alot of Beardies are sold or given away which is rather sad.
Sean Ward I got my bearded dragon a year ago and literally I know he will be one of my best investments haha anyway I have a bearded dragon vlog up on my channel I think you would enjoy it and soon I will be building a tank for him outside ❤️ please watch it
So far in a year my dad and I have made 2 seperate enclosures for mine. The most recent one being 117 gallons. Sure, im not as excited as when I first got him, but I love showing off my derpy boy
Probably the best care video on youtube. Some notes to the viewers: Not many people will read this but if I can help only one Beardie with this I'm happy: DON'T OVERFEED THEM! You will find a lot of crap on the internet. Nearly every page recommends feeding them 3-5 times a day as much as they want to eat which makes around 20-100 small crickets when they're young. If you do that your Bearded Dragon will get fat. It will grow fast, yes. But it won't have a very long life just like obese people. Feed them 5-10 crickets every 2 days when they're young. They will grow slower then recommended(it typically says 18 months until they're fully grown) but they'll stay healthy, slim and flexible. Feed them crickets when they're small and as soon as they're big enough, switch to locusts in an appropriate size. Achieve some variety by feeding them superworms, mealworms(very rarely!), dubia roaches and greens. Stay away from recommendations like carrots, tomatoes and any kind of fruit. Sugar is bad for them and vegetables like tomatoes take away calcium which they need for strong bones and to prevent MBD. Substrate: Red clay sand. Don't use loose fine sand, it can lead to constipation and infections. You can use reptilecarpet but it's not great. The use of red clay sand prevents constipation, infections and it will keep their nails in a good length so you don't have to cut or trim them. Temperatures in the basking area can reach up to 55°C at the highest point but give them lower platforms so they can choose a basking spot. Don't be fooled, they can deal with ground temperatures up to 80°C for a shot time, remember they're from Australia. They don't need an overly huge enclosure, 100cm x 50cm x 80cm is fine. Give them a high enclosure, especially young bearded dragons are insanely good climbers. Hit me up if you got any more questions. Not trying to sound like a know-it-all but trust me, my informations are correct. I'm just putting this out before new owners gather stupid information. Learn from the mistakes I've made.
ShakeyMaximus If your beardie is 1 year old he's not adult yet, so stick to a diet of 65% insects ans 35% greens. You can also switch to locusts, higher nutritional value and less annoying. I don't know the exact size of your dragon etc. so I can't give you a specific number. I'd say give him 15 crickets on 2 days of the week, 2 times greens per week(no fruits, not vegetables, only lettuce and dandelion salad), I'd say 4 leaves as big as the size of his head and 3-4 superworms as a treat over the week. Keep track of his weight and length amd adjust the numbers of the food then. Remember, the slimmer the dragon, the better. But no rips, no vertebra should be visible. And dust the food with calcium/vitamin powder everytime(!). As for how to feed: tweezers or just put your beardie in a box or bathtub and throw some crickets in. When you fed all(remember, NOT as much as he wants) or your beardie stops you take him out and put him back. Hope I could help.
Joshua Prick No lettuce! Please! It has no nutritional value and can even be toxic to your beardie! Also, they'll have diarrhea and no one thinks that's a fun time
I had a beardie as a kid, and I'm almost surprised to hear about the "tricky feeding." Even as a 10-year-old, I would dip live crickets in vitamin power and hand-feed him no problem. The cricket keeper was a bit of a hassle, yeah, but mealworms are ~super~ easy. Beardies are omnivores, yes, but you only really need to ~worry~ about the crickets/worms. Veggies are easy, because they're (hopefully) something you already have in your fridge for your own use. Just chop them up a mini bowl of salad. My beardie's absolute FAVORITE was blueberries. My dad would roll blueberries toward him, and he would snap them up. Dad called it "bowling for lizards."
My beardie loves strawberry pieces and we also feed her dandelion (both petals and greens) with fresh food grade rose petals I've harvested from wild rose bushes nearby. Their diet is super simple to supplement and enrich if you get creative and know what they can safely consume that might grow in your backyard. Our Kaida gets her salads with variety. green lettuce, collard, mustard, turnip, sometimes a little iceberg for hydration, sweet peas, bell peppers, edible florals, sometimes berries, watermelon, honeydew. Feeder staples are mealworms and super worms; treat feeders consist of wax worms, black soldier larvae, hornworms. They're easy to keep fed on your own unused or surplus produce if you're clever about it. Feeders aside they eat a lot of things we eat.
Bearded dragons are FANTASTIC pets!! I have two, and one is actually training to be the first therapy reptile in my state! Whenever I take him out with me, people are usually scared at first, will it bite, is it dangerous, etc. However after seeing how calm and friendly he is with both me and complete strangers they are quickly won over and Ususally I carry dandelion greens as a snack so they love feeding Ozzie when I bring him out with me. Definitely recommend buying one of these amazing creatures!!!
40 gallon breeder fish tanks are the best way to go. Really any fish tank more than 40 gallons you start to loose a wide floor area and it becomes too narrow.
I have a silkback bearded dragon. I was at an expo for the first time and saw this adult female. She was just so captivating that I couldn't leave without her. She was my first pet and silkbacks are definitely not for first time pet owners. The learning curve has been steep and I don't think that the aesthetic is worth the health risk when breeding silkbacks. It makes me sad that she has such sensitive skin but then again so do I. While I may not agree with the breeding, I'm glad that she exists. She is so friendly and observant. I never thought that I would ever be able to find a reptile as cool as a bearded dragon. Great appetites, great demeanor, and great companions.
I have 4. Best way to kill the stink is really being diligent about cleaning their tank. They have tank cleaners that kill the bacteria that cause the stink. They also have a lot of sites about them. :)
my beardie has been the BEST thing that's happened to me this past year. My mental health has been the best ever since i adopted my beardie! he is truly amazing and i love him with all my heart!
the bearded dragon is the typical beginner reptile, and sadly one of the most abandoned ones too. if you want a bearded dragon, look at your local shelter. many will have dozens of abandoned reptiles and turtles, and even though they are no babies, reptiles tend to fairly long lives.
Yeah. I didn't think about this as my bearded dragon was my first reptile and a kind of bucket list pet I wanted them from a baby, and I love him but if/when something happens I'm for sure going to put his big viv to some good use and rescue one of the unlucky ones. :(
I have had my beardie hang out all the time and he has never pooped on me, I even fell asleep next to him and when I woke up he was just on my shoulder like a good little boy
God I miss my beardie. I just had a normal yellow one and I loved him so much. Eventually I’m for sure getting another one. I got mine when he was about a year and a half old cause nobody wanted him. They all want the small cute babies and I looked at Sammy and I was like “that’s the beardie for me.” I got him for my ninth birthday. He took a chunk out of my dad’s thumb once cause he caught a grasshopper that we didn’t know if it was gonna be harmful to him. So my dad tried to get it away... that didn’t happen he chomped down. Completely accidental, but bearded dragons have one hell of a bite if they want to.
I recently got my first beardie. I quickly learned about the lighting and food costs lol. Its 100% worth the trouble. Shes one of the coolest pets I've ever owned!
Great video, I have to disagree with the smell though. I have a couple in my apt and I’ll admit they stink up the room right after a poop, but beyond that they don’t have much of a distinct smell that I’ve noticed. I will say crickets and super worms smell pretty bad though
Out rescue beardie kaida is a chaotic critter, we love her curious personality. We can leave her enclosure open with supervision and shell climb out onto the couch arm which sits below her door, then shell safely make her way to the floor and start exploring the house openly. Shes very chill with our cats and dog, though we still dont allow them to make contact without supervision. The cats and dog treat her like a weird rock that moves around lol, they basically ignore her for the most part. she also gets yard time in the sun, and with our natural environment in Oklahoma shes right at home (similar arid dryness and high sun exposure to their native Australia). I love these animals, theyre easily my favorite reptile pet at this moment. I love my leo gecko but beardies have more personality and charisma. My beardie is very comfortable with us, but my gecko is flighty and gets too anxious so i dont handle him unless i have to, because i feel like im invading his space otherwise. I respect his boundaries and leave him be, just observing fondly without much physical contact. My only bonding with the gecko is in tong feeding, but a beardie can show so much more activity.
Clint's Reptiles I know but I'm nervous clause he's my first reptile and I don't want to hurt him and I don't know why but I'm always super jumpy when I try to pick him up I'm fine when I'm just petting but as soon as I try to pick her up I get jumpy
I just adopted a beardie from a great military family that couldn't take him on their move. I'm so excited to learn his personality and bond with him. Thanks for having an amazing channel!
Hey Clint, though my last comment wasn't all that harsh, it wasn't constructive either and I apologize. You've got a great channel and it looks like you're really doing some great things here.
Hey, thank you, that means a lot. I know a lot about science, reptiles, and reptile husbandry, but I don't know everything. If we are teaching things that you know are wrong (and have evidence to support), please let us know. We won't get offended. Getting offended would only keep us from getting better :)
Went ahead and watched a couple more of your videos and it certainly seems that you're very educated on the subjects you speak on, and what is best is you can really tell you're passionate about what you do. And no, you are doing fine, the only one in the wrong was myself. This would definitely be a video I would feel comfortable directing someone looking to get a new bearded dragon. Also went ahead and subbed, because I honestly do believe you have a great channel here.
Yea I realized that but it was easier for me, but I was doing it for crested and Leopard Geckos Bc I was deciding between the 3 and I decided I want a crested gecko as my first pet reptile
Great video! I have a 9 month old beardie and I absolutely adore him. 1 thing Clint mentioned to be a problem is the potential for smell and I can agree with that. Most of the smell problem comes from their poop. I've had great luck with using slate tile instead of substrate or carpet. Very easy to clean and sanitize and cuts down on the smell a LOT. I can also vouch for beardies being naturally potty trained. Mine very rarely does his business in his tank because I give him somewhat short but regular soaks. This cuts down the smell factor almost entirely. (Just be careful not to overdo it on bathing times/amounts because doing it too much can potentially cause respiratory problems down the road)
I agree with tile. I actually just buy semi-glossy floor tiles from Home Depot, and they can even be thrown in the dishwasher for a deep clean. Funny thing: When I upgraded to a Zen habitat, I put down some potting soil for something more "natural"...and my beardie just went right over to the few tiles from his old cage. He has his logs and hammocks, but honestly he prefers tile and rock over any natural substrate.
Our bearded dragon I can put on my stomach under my shirt, she does a little wiggle, and then she will fall asleep there for HOURS. I can watch an entire movie and she won't budge. Such a pleasant reptile.
As a woman who now owns her third beardie, I can agree, these little bundles of joy can be a handful but they are juat wonderful. I couldn't imagine my life without our newest little mans, Cadmus. ❤
I love my two beardies so much. They’re kept in two separate enclosures in my office at home so when I’m working, I occasionally turn around to them both staring at me. It’s actually pretty darn distracting because then I have to take them out one by one to give them some love and it’s never enough. They really are the sweetest best little things. And I don’t care if people say they aren’t capable of love… I’m convinced otherwise.
I slept with my beardies this past winter when most of the city lost power due to ice storm bc I didn't know what else to do to keep them warm enough!!! We also spent time in the car, sitting with the heat blasting and seat warmers on. Luckily it was only one night without power.
I just experienced a bearded dragon for the first time with my kids, today! It was such a great experience and we talked with the owner of the shop and he was very knowledgeable and said they are his favorite pet. I can see why! Thank you for the content, sir!
Im planning on getting a beardie for Christmas i'm obsesed with them right now. i made my own care sheet and it was so fun. Dont worry i'm doing my research.
4:50 ''Mentions Bearded Dragons may have a slight aroma'' *Bearded dragon raises head as if to say ''Human, I have to put up with YOUR odor too!''* Hahahah Beardies are so adorable. Great video!
I've had several bearded dragons over the years, and I have found them to be wonderful pets. Each animal is a little different, of course, but overall they are pretty chill. They're pretty easy to care for compared to other reptiles. I currently have 2 of them and I really enjoy their company.
Zena O'Brien I have a bearded dragon vlog up on my channel I think you would enjoy it and soon I will be building a tank for him outside ❤️ please watch it
Watching this video while my BD is cuddling up in the corner of his enclosure right next to me. I've had it for years and I gotta say, it's absolutely worth the effort.
I haven't gone though all the comments, so this may have been said already, but avoid places like Petco and PetSmart because they get their reptiles, Beardes in particular, from places that are the reptile equivalent of puppy mills. Local mom n' pop places are usually going to be much better and know when its appropriate to put the animal up for sale. Getting them from a reputable breeder is even better.
Watching this with my beardie bowser who I just got a couple days ago! He’s my first reptile (actually my first pet that I bought and am caring for 100% myself) and it’s going great so far! I think a leopard gecko probably would have been easier and certainly a lot cheaper but I’m having a blast and it’s honestly a lot easier than I was expecting. People tend to over complicate their reptile care I think, with beardies you really just have to have sufficient lighting, give them some space to explore, give them a healthy diet, and give them plenty of attention and they’ll do fantastic. Bowser ate for me within an hour of bringing him home and on the second day he was eating collards out of my hand and he also tried to bite my floral print shirt that I was wearing. He’s such a cutie, I couldn’t be happier with him
great video👍 i have been wanting a beardie for a while now and i have done my fair share of research i think this video is very informative and fun i am very happy you did my favourite animal justice😊😊
Thank you so much! They are wonderful. I'm glad we didn't let you down! If we ever do, please let us know how to do better in the future. We want this channel to be the best it can be, and we need honest feedback to get there.
I've had my baby dragon for 3 months & find them SUPER easy. 5/5 even though it's my first reptile. Bioactive enclosure I scoop every day & he gets soaked 1x a week. No smell whatsoever. Does this mean I can get a more advanced reptile? I was concerned but after watching this score I feel a little bit braver. 😅
Thanks for all of your videos, they've helped me. I got my first bearded dragon (second reptile, I had a corn snake for many years). She's 2 years old and had to be rehomed because her previous owner was moving to a place that didn't allow pets. Her previous care was mediocre, her tank was small, she was given wild caught insects, and no vitamin supplements, but she was at least given proper lights, vegetables, and was handled and socialized.
I love how well done your videos are. I've been considering getting a lizard for my first pet reptile and your videos are just so informative and it's so helpful you put links to essentials in the description. You deserve more subscribers.
My bearded passed away a few years ago he was eight years old and one of the coolest pets I ever had. He was super friendly, never bit,ate everything I gave to him. Now I’m in a smaller house so I don’t have room for another one but I definitely miss having one just a dog for now. I love her too of course. And yes they are very stinky.
my beardie is so freaking silly. she'll gaze off into nothingness for the longest time but then she snaps back as soon as something mildly entertaining catches her eye. She LOVES her bugs and is incredibly picky with her greens/other plant items, and loves people and being outside. I love Xerxes to death!
This video helped me decide between a beardie and a leopard gecko, now I have a baby beardie and I'm loving every second of taking care of it. My sister also got a beardie a year ago after recommending one to her. They have such an amazing temperment.
Woah that bearded dragon is sooo calm I have had mine since in was a baby and I hold him around 10-60 mins a day and it’s still loves to look around and run everywhere I luv him thou he’s just a bit different I guess he is 2 years old now maybe he just needs time xd
I have watched this video about 5 times, getting information because I am trying to get a dragon 🐉 I have been doing other research as well. And I am even writing an essay and a list of things I need to do before even asking. Do u have any tips about convincing my parents
They're less expensive than dogs in the long run *nudge nudge* And the whole salmonella thing, don't worry too much. Even dogs can carry it. Just make sure you're clean and don't play with him in the kitchen or wherever else food may be. Their feces is the main salmonella culprit. Wash your hands
mallory schafer I have a bearded dragon vlog up on my channel I think you would enjoy it and soon I will be building a tank for him outside ❤️ please watch it
I give my beardie mini soaks every other day to keep him from pooping in his cage. If you bathe them that often make sure to keep it short, towel dry them, and put them back under their bulb! You don’t want fungus or shedding issues! You have such great information!
I have a BD and he doesn't smell bad. He smells a bit like warm sand if anything. I do make sure that no poop is ever left to dry in his enclosure, that may help.
Your videos are great and informative! Much better than a lot of other reptile channels. I do have a few suggestions, that others may have looked over. First, do not co-hab, they are very solitary animals! They will fight, and do things such as sitting ontop of the other Dragon. Which many may think is cuddling but it's actually intentionally stealing it's heat/UVB source as a form of domination. You mention UVB lights but showed a UVB bulb. You actually want a tube UVB (t8 10.0 or t5) that is 2/3rds the length of the tank. A t8 will need to be mounted inside the enclosure, which is easy with industrial velcro. A t5 can sit ontop of a mesh screen and be great. Oh, and instead of needing 3 different calcium/vitamins (as you need calcium, calcium with d3, and a multivitamin) instead you can use Repashy Calcium plus. You put it on 1 meal a day, 5 days a week and you won't need the other supplements. It's great for these guys! There is much more care obviously, but these are 3 pretty important/good tips! Awesome awesome pets! My favorite lizard is a bearded named Frankquito! Keep up the good work, love your channel!
Bad idea... They hamper travel plans and require attention.... Go for a Colubrid. A mouse every couple of weeks... No need to tame, less space requirement, and easier to feed.... Dragons require attention and TLC, snakes don't.
These where my first (& so far only) pet reptile. Draco was one of my favourite pets ever, it's largely because of him that I love reptiles as much as I do.
I got my beautiful Beardie because they are generally so relaxed but one is not. He is aggressive and I've held him regularly for 4 years. I have stopped as much because he is a personality that just doesn't like to be handled unless necessary! I love your videos!
The Laughing Man don't know if you got one, but you won't regret it. Mine has been with me since I was 5 (I'll be 22 this spring) and she is potty trained (mostly) actually seeks out attention and is generally just a hilarious snuggly scaly sausage type creature.
I just picked up a beardie today! I’ve had them before my last one died of old age So I went out and got a 8 month old baby girl from my friend who did not want her anymore! So excited to watch her grow
I adopted an adult bearded dragon with extreme mbd. He can't hold his own weight and he can't lift his head. I've been working with him for two months and now he can scoot around and get onto his hamic. The previous owners had him for 3 years and didn't have any carpeting or heating bulbs. They were going to put him down if it weren't for me... He is doing a lot better and that's all I can ask for. Yes mbd can't be reversed but he can get stronger. A little love goes a long way 💗 I love your videos! You are the person who got me into reptile research and love.
It’s amazing that you rescued him!! Although carpet is not a good substrate. It catches their teeth and claws and harbours bacteria. Paper towel, shelf liner, or textured tile would be much better. Generally I’d recommend something like soil for digging enrichment (for the whole substrate, half, or a dig box) but that might not be suitable for a beardie with extreme MBD.
*cough* just wanted to say that kale should only be fed as a rare treat, not part of the main diet. It prevents calcium absorption and can actually lead to MBD X_X Great video all around though! :D
To answer your title, yes, absolutely, without question. Ideal care is a little more complex (and a lot more expensive) than most people will let on, but with that being said, they're the only reptile that I've really found to be affectionate. They also have by far the best personality.
As someone who still lives with their parents and four younger siblings who never let any animal out of their clutches, it’s actually a plus for me. It’s a constant reason to keep my bearded dragon all to myself. She’s a far cry from my brother’s conure let me tell you. Trust me, bites and scratches are nothing to that birds beak. We have two dogs: a yorkie and a golden retriever both terrified of a six ounce bird. I don’t blame them.
I have a 3yr old Beardie, he’s called Rico, I’ve had him for 3 yrs. They’re exceptionally easy, although they do mess up their vivariums very fast, they sit calmly for like 20minutes then wriggle and love a walk around the house. My Beardie is very healthy, his diet is and has always been Hoppers (larger as he gets older), kale, bell pepper, and carrot or apple. He doesn’t smell, we spot clean him and do a full clean out about once a month, he’s extremely tame and we bathe him when he starts to finish off his shed. I would HIGHY recommend a Bearded dragon as a first lizard, I got Rico when I was 10 and I love him to bits! Any questions do ask ☺️💖🦎
@@TheMetalrap619 I always wash mine's butt after she poops because I'm a germophobe and don't want her trailing poop germs around her enclosure or the house. She also only poops in the shower or bath. You just pick up the lizard, and hold it vertically with it's underside exposed and facing you. Make sure the lizard can wrap their arms around you fingers, and try to support at least one of their hind feet with a finger so they feel secure. If their vent is still partially open, wait for it to close all the way. With your other hand, work up a lather with a mild soap, and rub the suds onto the lizards vent, and the area surrounding it. Then rinse the underside of the lizard with either the shower spray, the sink faucet, or if your lizard gets too freaked out with those options, place them in some clean water, swish the lizard around in there a bit, then replace with more clean water and repeat until you're confident that the soap is gone.
I know this is an old video, I just gotta say I will always like a video when you're considerate enough to include both Celsius AND Farenheit when talking about temperatures. I'm kinda learning Farenheit, I know 32F is freezing temp, but it's hard to work out the exact specifics above that and when temperature is an important reference, just having the conversion right there is so convenient.
Forgot to give her a bath before handling and she pooped on my pillow. Bathe them. Don't suffer as I've suffered.
Sage advice!
That could be the reason that there is ALWAYS poop in their pool. I mean really, i clean it every Day, always poop.
Mine never poops on me and only poops around one area in her enclosure
My little girl only poops on me when I try to put clothes on her
. Otherwise, only in the water bowl. The problem is that she also does it in that spot when the water bowl is currently being cleaned.
How do you give them a bath
I've had my beardie for two years now and he is the most relaxed animal I have ever met. The world could be exploding around him and he'd just blink and lick the nearest object.
Man one time there was a crazy thunder storm, my dragon didn't even flinch. He barely moved during an earthquake too.

Maissimoottori lol buys him/her a Galapagos tortoise

What reptile did you get?
Im hoping for one for my 13th
I can’t get one no matter what bc my brother has cf and can’t get too close to reptiles or amphibians
If you are a new reptile keeper looking at buying a bearded dragon PLEASE rescue one instead. Bearded dragons are massively over bred and lots end up neglected and need rescuing.
Rescued mine from a local animal rescue and he was in a poor state 2 years later hes happy and fit, but there's a lack of bond and he has a hard time trusting me, I'm guessing his previous owner mistreated him ;(
Craig Smart idk where to rescue one from

Still blows my mind that in "Holes" the yellow spotted lizards were literally just bearded dragons.

A Gila monster is probably the closest thing to the lizards described in the book, but that wouldn’t be as easy to film without making it completely CGI

Honesty I agree, I myself didnt even think about it, Ill be around middle aged when she passes
Omg I never thought of that
Me & my Jordan are forever 😂
Sean Ward I got my bearded dragon a year ago and literally I know he will be one of my best investments haha anyway I have a bearded dragon vlog up on my channel I think you would enjoy it and soon I will be building a tank for him outside ❤️ please watch it
So far in a year my dad and I have made 2 seperate enclosures for mine. The most recent one being 117 gallons. Sure, im not as excited as when I first got him, but I love showing off my derpy boy
Probably the best care video on youtube.
Some notes to the viewers:
Not many people will read this but if I can help only one Beardie with this I'm happy:
DON'T OVERFEED THEM!
Thank you for adding that! I really appreciate the kind review as well. The more good info the better :)
Joshua Prick thanks for the help. Ill post here his length later today but glad I was able to find someone with some beardie knowledge
thanks a lot man, i just my little guy yesterday and ill be sure to follow this!
Bowling for lizards that is cute!
Lol bowling for lizards, that's too adorable 🥰🥰🥰
My sweet, old Cosmo is 13 years old now. One of my absolute favorite Christmas gifts and my introduction to herpetology
I've had a four month old juvenile for a month. Absolutely love the little guy. Already had his first shed.
BrawlEmAll Make a video about your beardie.
Aren't they wonderful little creatures?
Freaked me out the first time my baby shed. He kept rubbing his face against his rock lol.
Bro mine kept doing that too I was like WTF
@@ClintsReptiles They're stinkin' rad!
My service animal was a bearded dragon too
Emily Apparently not where I lived. Or at the time.
Black flames. I was disappointed you didnt have any videos of said dragon
Have a baby one right now he is a little bit of a brat but I love him to death and pieces he is so cute
Can you have multiple bearded dragons together? Or do they have to be separate?
Pro tip: get your 40gal tank during petco’s “dollar per gallon” sale. You spend 50 instead of 100+. 😉
Che Yo mines in a forty and he’s doing just fine. Handle him once a day and he just chills and watches good mythical morning with me
Chris Hovnanian that’s great to hear because I want one and I have a 55 gallon tank that isn’t being used and I was wondering if that was big enough.
Or craigslist is good. I got a 50 gallon with stand and cover for 70. Nice setup.
hep the great on Craigslist what do I search
I read that as skink at first and was wondering why being diligent about cleaning the tank would kill them...hate when that happens!
I have two in my bedroom & there is no smell. You are definitely right! Keeping the enclosures clean is key.
Clean enclosures and weekly baths.
I trained mine to poop directly into shower drains and give her a quick wash with mild soap suds afterwards and she barely has any sort of scent.
Yep! Weekly baths and cleaning the tank daily- my two beardies don’t smell at all. I was actually surprised at that call out.
Dude you are one of the most cheerful people I have seen on UA-cam, keep up the great work Clint!
my beardie has been the BEST thing that's happened to me this past year.
First time reptile owner here, and I love my baby bearded dragon. He's so chill and relatively low maintenance. Adds a great vibe to my room.
I absolutely adore bearded dragons. I had one named Monster for 13 years and she was just the sweetest girl. 😭❤️
I just got a baby bearded dragon and I'm nervous to hold him cause I don't wanna break him
Well there is no pressure to hold him too much, but you shouldn't need to worry. Avoid squishing him and big falls and you'll be fine.
Clint's Reptiles I know but I'm nervous clause he's my first reptile and I don't want to hurt him and I don't know why but I'm always super jumpy when I try to pick him up I'm fine when I'm just petting but as soon as I try to pick her up I get jumpy
Clint's Reptiles thanks for the advice I handled mine today and I plan on making it part of her daily routine
I hope you have a great day
@guess what ha. Ha
What
I just adopted a beardie from a great military family that couldn't take him on their move.
You're awesome! I'm really excited to have you as a subscriber! If you ever have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.
Thank you Clint, will do.
Clint's Reptiles you’re literally the best person ever. I’m getting my bearded dragon soon! :)
I LOVE bearded dragons. They have always been my dream reptile. Now I am so happy I have one, named Smaug

It's in description...
Im so obsessed with beardies. They remind me of a cat when its sleepy and chill, but it’s just like that 24/7
I love my two beardies so much.
I have a bearded dragon and he is amazing he’s three and there great there calm and they honestly just chill on you great reptiles
After a couple weeks getting everything together, my beardy is gonna be arriving on Friday, and this video is where it all began. Thank you
I slept with my beardies this past winter when most of the city lost power due to ice storm bc I didn't know what else to do to keep them warm enough!!! We also spent time in the car, sitting with the heat blasting and seat warmers on. Luckily it was only one night without power.
Glad you all made it through safely!
You are the only person I can trust on UA-cam about reptiles
4:50 ''Mentions Bearded Dragons may have a slight aroma'' *Bearded dragon raises head as if to say ''Human, I have to put up with YOUR odor too!''* Hahahah Beardies are so adorable. Great video!
I've had several bearded dragons over the years, and I have found them to be wonderful pets. Each animal is a little different, of course, but overall they are pretty chill. They're pretty easy to care for compared to other reptiles. I currently have 2 of them and I really enjoy their company.
Omg, they're so cute
Zena O'Brien I have a bearded dragon vlog up on my channel I think you would enjoy it and soon I will be building a tank for him outside ❤️ please watch it
Have had my beardie for over 10 years, I absolutely love him. Great boys.
I'm a newbie to Bearded Dragons. Very good and informative video! Thanks!
You're very welcome! I hope it was helpful.
He’s such a cutie, I couldn’t be happier with him
Tristan Radeka how much did it all cost cause I want to get one
Hi, I think your videos are fantastic! But I recommend maybe showing us each reptiles enclosure as you talk about them. Thank you :)
I’m not the biggest fan of reptiles but seeing how much this guy loves them makes me happy
great video👍
i have been wanting a beardie for a while now and i have done my fair share of research
i think this video is very informative and fun
i am very happy you did my favourite animal justice😊😊
Thank you so much! They are wonderful. I'm glad we didn't let you down! If we ever do, please let us know how to do better in the future. We want this channel to be the best it can be, and we need honest feedback to get there.
I've had my baby dragon for 3 months & find them SUPER easy. 5/5 even though it's my first reptile. Bioactive enclosure I scoop every day & he gets soaked 1x a week. No smell whatsoever. Does this mean I can get a more advanced reptile? I was concerned but after watching this score I feel a little bit braver. 😅
Wonderful video! The videos are always so pretty to look at, the quality is great! I would love to see a video about tegus or sand boas!
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback! We are getting better as we go :)
We will soon have videos about both tegus and sand boas, so stay tuned!
Man oh man do I miss my Beardie. Such a great pet
I love how well done your videos are. I've been considering getting a lizard for my first pet reptile and your videos are just so informative and it's so helpful you put links to essentials in the description. You deserve more subscribers.
My beardie poops in the corner of his tank. Only there. I mean he poops in the bath but other than that it’s just the corner
Mine poops near his branch
I got a baby beardie named Bowser a couple days ago and he's awesome. Love your channel.
You should make a video about why lizards drop their tails & why to be worried if they do. I love your channel!!
Thank you so much! That is a great idea!
Yes!!!
No two are exactly the same. He sounds like a fun one.
Our new dragon loves to interact with us and run around my keyboard and desk. It's open and has a little drop he likes to do. God I love this fucker.
I just got a red hypo translucent bearded dragon. These videos have really made me interested in reptiles.
I have watched this video about 5 times, getting information because I am trying to get a dragon 🐉
I have been doing other research as well. And I am even writing an essay and a list of things I need to do before even asking. Do u have any tips about convincing my parents
Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Just be responsible and I bet they will trust you.
They're less expensive than dogs in the long run *nudge nudge*
And the whole salmonella thing, don't worry too much. Even dogs can carry it. Just make sure you're clean and don't play with him in the kitchen or wherever else food may be. Their feces is the main salmonella culprit. Wash your hands
This is also my 3 or 4th time lmao
mallory schafer I have a bearded dragon vlog up on my channel I think you would enjoy it and soon I will be building a tank for him outside ❤️ please watch it
I give my beardie mini soaks every other day to keep him from pooping in his cage. If you bathe them that often make sure to keep it short, towel dry them, and put them back under their bulb! You don’t want fungus or shedding issues! You have such great information!
I have a bearded dragon named spike, he's badass. Lol can you do a video on Jackson chameleons? They seem cool
I have a BD and he doesn't smell bad. He smells a bit like warm sand if anything. I do make sure that no poop is ever left to dry in his enclosure, that may help.
Kale also binds to calcium
lier they dont
I think I might pick up a bearded dragon after I graduate from college this upcoming May.
Bad idea... They hamper travel plans and require attention.... Go for a Colubrid. A mouse every couple of weeks... No need to tame, less space requirement, and easier to feed.... Dragons require attention and TLC, snakes don't.
2:30 IS ADORABLE
You remind me of a lizardy, young, Mr.Rogers :) in the best way ever.
Thx so much Clint for all the tips, will be getting my first bearded dragon in less than a month. Can’t wait to meet the little guy.
And tomorrow I get my first reptile a bearded dragon, 4 weeks of research and watching this video 👍
I love Dragons, thanks for your channel and supporting our lovely lizards.
cant wait for the next one
You're awesome! Thank you for the encouragement. That's what keeps us going.
These where my first (& so far only) pet reptile. Draco was one of my favourite pets ever, it's largely because of him that I love reptiles as much as I do.
Best vid on bearded dragons!
Thank you so much! That is a pretty great review :)
I got my beautiful Beardie because they are generally so relaxed but one is not. He is aggressive and I've held him regularly for 4 years. I have stopped as much because he is a personality that just doesn't like to be handled unless necessary! I love your videos!
Can you do this with blue tongue skink
We sure will! They are amazing. We won't miss them :)
I scrolled down to leave the same comment, I'm considering getting one.
Skinks scare me
they eat dog and cat food
The Laughing Man don't know if you got one, but you won't regret it. Mine has been with me since I was 5 (I'll be 22 this spring) and she is potty trained (mostly) actually seeks out attention and is generally just a hilarious snuggly scaly sausage type creature.
I just picked up a beardie today! I’ve had them before my last one died of old age So I went out and got a 8 month old baby girl from my friend who did not want her anymore! So excited to watch her grow
One beardie: walking, chaotic, would like to be held.
Other beardie: to lazy to even lay properly.
In reality they’re the same bearded dragon five minutes apart.
Whenever I'm thinking of getting another reptile I come to this channel cause you have the best care videos
Bearded dragon: *sees freshly cleaned water bowl* “Ooooh, a toilet!!!”
A little love goes a long way 💗
I love your videos! You are the person who got me into reptile research and love.
It’s amazing that you rescued him!! Although carpet is not a good substrate. It catches their teeth and claws and harbours bacteria. Paper towel, shelf liner, or textured tile would be much better. Generally I’d recommend something like soil for digging enrichment (for the whole substrate, half, or a dig box) but that might not be suitable for a beardie with extreme MBD.
pleaseee do the blue tongue skink and crocodile skink video pleaseee pleaseee !
Alright, we shall!
I’m getting a beardie tomorrow, and I am sooo excited so im watching all of these bearded dragon videos lmao
I’m guessing by your profile pic you got the bearded dragon.😁
*cough* just wanted to say that kale should only be fed as a rare treat, not part of the main diet. It prevents calcium absorption and can actually lead to MBD X_X
Great video all around though! :D
To answer your title, yes, absolutely, without question.
Ideal care is a little more complex (and a lot more expensive) than most people will let on, but with that being said, they're the only reptile that I've really found to be affectionate. They also have by far the best personality.
"They're not gonna scratch you." Tell that to my arms!
and my face lol, mine has drawn blood, but not on purpose
As someone who still lives with their parents and four younger siblings who never let any animal out of their clutches, it’s actually a plus for me. It’s a constant reason to keep my bearded dragon all to myself. She’s a far cry from my brother’s conure let me tell you. Trust me, bites and scratches are nothing to that birds beak. We have two dogs: a yorkie and a golden retriever both terrified of a six ounce bird. I don’t blame them.
I recently just got a Bearded dragon and I love it! Thanks Clint for your knowledge for all the reptiles.
clint for president....seriously
A.B.C Wolf kale isn’t very good since it binds calcium
I’ve never experienced a smell from my bearded dragon? I bathe her weekly and wipe her butt after she poops to make sure she is clean.
Seriously? Maybe you can make a video about how to wipe beardie butt
One of the calmest lizards I've ever had. All around good guys. I recommend a bioactive enclosure to remedy the smell issue.
Can you do a video on leopard geckos? i want one and i think they're great pets
You won't have to wait much longer on that one :)
Oh he will I know he will knowing him...
