Nice 460! So correct me if I’m wrong, The 460 is not AWD. It is full-time 4WD. My understanding is that AWD drive cars do not typically have a locking center Torsen limited slip differential that splits the torque in a 60/40 rear to front bias. Nor does AWD typically have a selectable hi and low range transfer case. Thoughts? Love the video.
You are correct, Its technically Full-Time 4WD because it is the center diff being lockable and have low range gearing. I didn't realize my mistake until you pointed it out....Welp that's embarrassing lol.
@@TandemAutomotive - No worries and I’m probably being a bit pedantic. Great video. Not too long or too short and pretty entertaining. You’ve got a good presentation and and are well informed, but you don’t take yourself too seriously. Makes for good content. Already subscribed. Keep up the 460 content. 👍🏻
Cool seeing you with this rig. I bought a '21 model a few months ago and love it. One of my favorite things about it is showing off at a stoplight with the headlight misters that pop out of the front bumper like little robotic arms.
You put a Dobinson lift on my GX about 2-3yrs ago. I loved it. Easily the most comfortable off-roading I've ever done. Sadly it got totaled. I hope to end up in another GX or LX and get it over to you again and up for the Elka this time around.
Appreciated the video. Considering getting one myself. Was wondering if you would be willing to provide interior cargo dimensions? Specifically width between the wheel wells
Would you rather have this or a 100 or 200 series.. and why not? My 1997 Collector's Edition 80 recently was stolen and wondering what I should get next if I'm not going to get another 80. That's in advance for a reply.
Tbh I would go with a 200 if I had the money for it. although I will say I am biased towards them since I feel its the last real Landcruiser we got here in the states. The 200 has a way better suspension design and way better interior in comparison to the 100 series. Although I do like 100's but my issue stems from the torsion rod suspension in the front that really limits your ability to lift it for have it articulate properly (mainly relying on the solid axle more in the rear to give you the flex you need for complicated obstacles) also power comparison from the 2uz-fe in the 100 series to the 3ur-fe in the 200 has way better performance but not as reliable as the good old 2uz-fe.
I get 15 around town and 21 on highway. But no one gets an SUV, especially one with full-time four-wheel-drive and a V8 if fuel economy is even a remote concern. If you want great MPG, get a Prius.
470s with 20 year old KDSS still have 0 issues. To prevent it, when you lift your GX or 4Runner with KDSS just make sure to recalibrate the KDSS by relieving hydraulic pressure and let the system self level. It’s actually really simple and the KDSS systems are extremely reliable if you take care of them
@@crodrc51ableAs a Toyota fanboy for many decades, I can confirm that the larger displacement of Toyota 4.6 V8 and 5.7 V8 are not as durable as even smaller 4 cylinder models. The V8s are absolute money pits when it age towards 10+ years….but when it ages 15+ years..RUN!

V8, full time 4wd, the looks, and the barn door!

Noooo sucks that it got Totaled but when you are ready let me know! I'll try to get you a deal on some Elkas!
Nice build! If you havent done so, I'd add a trans cooler. Also keep that fluid clean.
Mario? This is Luigi lol ...lol .. good job brother
Thank you 👍🏼
that stache is amazing
#1-kdss for the win!
#2- full time all wheel drive.
V8 enough said. Nice rig!

What a beauty. What lift do you have? Currently awaiting arrival of my Dobinson IMS.
Love my Sequoia

Great Vid! Where can I get a OTT tune for my GX460? I'm in SolCal.
overlandtailor.com/ check them out. They might have a tuner near you
Can yall bring back the gx key fobs please!!!
Which "flavor" of OTT tune did you go with?
I will get this tune soon myself and I am wondering the same. I presume the tuner kind of walks the customer through the options.
Are you going to try an Auburn LSD?
What is a OTT Tune?
hello issues :) well done sir
Raynore!?!?
What you do with spare tire? With 35 size tire
JW off-road tire carrier on the back door for the win. Have had it on my GX for the last 3 years, love it. I carry 33” tires though.
If I was to get a gx the first thing I'd do is get an arb front bumper/bull bar and cut up the bumper in order to install it 🙃😃😁😆
You forgot to tell us the gas mileage!
It’s more like smiles per gallon
You are foolish if you got a frame suv for good gas station. Most framed suvs are boxes on wheels.
Yes, it gets gas mileage. Hope this helps!

Who cares.
That V8 and KDSS will bankrupt you with very expensive repairs, not when they are new but when it ages.
