That moment right before Optimus turns prime had me tearing up. Seeing my childhood reimagined in such a high quality way is so satisfying. This movie does a great job at making Megatron look like a G. I don't understand why Elita had to put down optimus. I get that its 2024 and crapping on male characters is a thing but Elita was always cool and competent. @@grog3514 it’s definitely an agenda but in a man’s world which is action cartoons, there’s no real place for female characters and if they are there their power is limited. Alita was in no way better than prime, maybe she used her brain more and was more subordinate but she wasn’t better and I think that speech subtly said that. She lowkey embodies a wife/mom where she’s less impulsive and more vocal, allowed to be perceived as the manager of the house/family but is ultimately lead by the man/dad/husband. This movie is so good. For y’all that have never heard someone besides Peter Cullen voice Optimus before, I’m glad you’re having fun. For us hopelessly deep in the Transformers weeds, you have no idea how hype it was to see stuff like T-cogs and the Original Thirteen play such a big role on a big-screen movie. For my kids who know more about Rescue Bots Academy than the original show, they were having fun giggling at Key Bee doing his thing. There’s something for *everybody*!
*It's still hard to believe that in the Transformers Original Lore is very different from Transformers One.* Original Lore: Orion Pax was a Clerk/ Librarian in Iacon and D-16 was a Gladiator. Transformers One: Orion Pax and D-16 are Junk-Bots. *Very interesting...*
Jeremy is not a critic. He is a reviewer. Those are very different things. To be a movie critic you have to, you know, critique it. Not just somewhat talk about the movie and say whether you thought it was good enough. I like JJ, but he is the opposite of a critic.
@@ChimpBrainedHe’s a RT Tomatometer approved critic. Critics make reviews whether in print or on video. He does critque because he’ll also say stuff he didn’t like.
@@Drifter1989 As if that means anything at all. Im sorry but just because you have a lot of subscribers and can get "approval" like that, doesnt mean youre actually a critic. Hes a movie reviewer. RT is the worst example you could have used. A website where critics only matter when people say they matter, and are lying grifters any other time. So, it really shouldnt be suprising that I couldnt care less what Rotten Tomatoes thinks of JJ as a critic vs reviewer. My distinction is simple: Does the creator in question break down movies in a comprehensive way to provide detail and evidence for their opinions? Theyre a critic Does the creator just make short videos or paragraphs talking about a couple things they liked and a couple things they didnt? Theyre a reviewer. One does detailed analysis as to WHY a film or piece of media is considered good, and the other just gives their opinion with no backing. The difference is very obvious, and there is no point arguing over it. If you disagree, good for you, but that doesnt change the way I see JJ as a reviewer and not a critic.

Sounds like this is an Into the Spider-Verse scenario where the trailers give the impression that it's a movie for kids and lacks an emotional journey. So, I guess there's...more than meets the eye. I'll see myself out now.
I originally thought this movie was 100% geared towards kids and was a silly animated comedy, but from all the reviews I've been seeing it seems like this movie is a lot deeper. This was made for those that grew up with Transformers. I'm going to see it because I really want to get the closest experience as possible to Transformers: The Movie and this may be it, at least for now. It will be really tough not hearing Peter Cullen though. He *is* Optimus Prime.
Like every Dad in my age demographic, I want to take my kids to see this to share a little of my childhood with them. But as a Transformers the Movie stan, I want to go by myself.
I honestly did not expect anything from this movie. Glad to hear it actually pulled off something special. Oh, and 😂 love that last bit. I feel for you for all the recent guff you've gotten for Sunday's review.
Despite their origins as a toy commercial and their silly premise, Transformers actually has a very deep and compelling lore. In particular, IDW comic books' previous Transformers run, which features by far the best iteration of Megatron.
Took my 7 year old son to see this at the advanced screening with no expectations and I was very pleasantly surprised by how great this was. My son had very minimal Transformers exposure before this movie and he loved it as well.

Interesting to see the best animated film at the Oscars play out. Inside Out 2, Wild Robot and Transformers One. All 3 are pretty much like a coming of age film but told in different ways. Though its rare to see what TF1 has with its shakespearean tragedy. What a year for animation fans!

I have been around sense the Generation 1 Transformers came out. I plan to see this with my 5-year-old nephew. Got to make sure that the Transformer love is generational.
As a Transformers fan I know that Transformers has 10/10 stories like "Last Stand of Wreckers" so I've always found it frustrating when general audiences have settled for things like Rise of the Beasts. Transformers One is a step in the right direction and i love that now the general audience can see what Transformers can be at its full potential, not just "robots fighting in order to sell toys"
As a lifelong fan of Transformers i was hesitant to see a movie that doesnt have Peter as Optimus but I really like how Hemsworth executed his role. To me, its worth a rewatch.
The breaking of D-16 and Orian Pax story even when we KNOW where D-16 became Megatron and the RISE of Optimus Prime by the 13th Primes led by Alpha Trion, who was great, was the best part for me of this movie. Also Sential Prime was perfect for this movie and as lore now for this Transformers universe moving forward now. Next mocvie will be the end of the WAR AGAINST OPTIMUS PRIME AND THE AUTOBOTS AND MEGATRON AND THE DECEPTICONS!!!!!! REALLY LOVED THIS MOVIE AND WILK WATCH IT AGAIN!!!!!!

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ONEEEEE!! man I have already seen the film twice, this is insane how good this movie was, and I definably will go to see it for a third time, easily my favorite TRANSFORMERS MOVIE and the only one when the TRANSFORMERS are actually the main characters besides the 87 movie, this was a blast and an emotional blast as well, easily the best animated film of this year.
This is exactly what the franchise needs, it was so good! A strong story! As a lifelong Transformers fan I got a thrill out of the lore it explored and the references to the history. I also loved Chris as Orion/Optimus. And ILM’s animation was great.
I've been a fan of Transformers since 2006, so I've seen and heard everything the public has said about the movies over the years. When Bumblebee (2018) came along I thought, "Wait... Are most people saying GOOD things about the movie?! What is happening...?" Then ROTB came out. While not bad, it wasn't great... But you know what gave me hope that this was going to be a REALLY good movie? When they took it to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and it got GREAT reactions from the outset. Just like that, I was off to the races - and I've been so happy to hear positive things since. Transform and Roll Out!
I agree! I got into Transformers after coming across MTMTE, Lost Light, Wreckers, and other more comics; even went back to the old cartoon. I loved bumblebee and like the ROTB movie was okay. BUT I ENJOYED TF ONE. EVERYTHING JUST HIT JUST RIGHT.

It's amazing how good a Teansformers movie can be without annoying humans taking away from the film. Saw it with my son and nephew and we all really enjoyed it!
That’s my gripe with this movie. It’s the reason I’m skipping it. I miss real voice actors. Tired of screen actors doing voiceover work for iconic characters who have been voiced by real voice actors for so long.
I don’t understand the reasoning for this. I don’t think a known celebrity doing a voice in an animated movie has ever been a draw for audiences. I don’t think anyone has ever said “ooh Brad Pitt is doing the voice for this cartoon slug, I’m definitely buying tickets now!”
The first half of the movie I was thinking “this is a solid fun movie that’s embracing the campiness of transformers and that’s awesome, its nothing special but it’s a good time” and then it started picking up and I was like “okay this action is sick, the characters are sick, this is dope”

*It's still hard to believe that in the Transformers Original Lore is very different from Transformers One.*
Original Lore: Orion Pax was a Clerk/ Librarian in Iacon and D-16 was a Gladiator.
Transformers One: Orion Pax and D-16 are Junk-Bots.
*Very interesting...*
Prime D-16 (the first D-16 Megatron) was a Miner before he was a Gladiator.

Don't listen to the weirdos! Movie critics critique movies. Love your channel. I appreciate your work.
Here here!
My distinction is simple:
Does the creator in question break down movies in a comprehensive way to provide detail and evidence for their opinions? Theyre a critic
Does the creator just make short videos or paragraphs talking about a couple things they liked and a couple things they didnt? Theyre a reviewer.
One does detailed analysis as to WHY a film or piece of media is considered good, and the other just gives their opinion with no backing. The difference is very obvious, and there is no point arguing over it. If you disagree, good for you, but that doesnt change the way I see JJ as a reviewer and not a critic.
This movie had no business being that good. om the feel, the lols, the tears...
I haven’t watched it yet, but when the first trailer dropped, I was hooked 😮.

Sounds like this is an Into the Spider-Verse scenario where the trailers give the impression that it's a movie for kids and lacks an emotional journey. So, I guess there's...more than meets the eye.

Paramount: No human characters nobody really cares about. Just solid, robot on robot excitement, narrative and drama.

This seems like a good introduction for new transformers fans.
It's not overbloated with lots of characters, like the previous movies. The story is actually the focus this time. Good job.
This movie was amazing. 10 / 10. A must watch. For real.
i miss when they made animation movies with VOICE ACTORS rather than just mainstream pop actors.
That’s my gripe with this movie. It’s the reason I’m skipping it. I miss real voice actors. Tired of screen actors doing voiceover work for iconic characters who have been voiced by real voice actors for so long.
That's why I'm not interested in seeing this movie.
I don’t understand the reasoning for this. I don’t think a known celebrity doing a voice in an animated movie has ever been a draw for audiences. I don’t think anyone has ever said “ooh Brad Pitt is doing the voice for this cartoon slug, I’m definitely buying tickets now!”
this is exactly what i thought but i went to an early screening. and the voice acting was actually really good
