Literally read it in Mr Incredible's voice. Oh such the bastardization of a Prime who fought for his brothers and sisters by someone who cannot compromise
People always manipulate the image and teachings of someone for their own benefit, even if it contradicts what that person actually stood for. Even if Megatronus stood in front of Megatron and told him that, Megatron wouldn't change his view.
Seriously, they marketed this like it was a goddamn Minions movie or something. I watched the first trailer, saw they put all the goofy parts in it and gave it a hard pass. Wasn't until some friends went to see it and told me it was great that I got interested.
brian tyree henry's performance here is just phenomenal. the way d16 sounds like he's about to break down while convincing himself orion is the enemy is just so perfect.
Love how Optimus gradually becomes stronger as he adjusts to his newfound power. From getting beaten by Megatron to taking multiple opponents and still winning
The fact that you can see Optimus's inexperience but you can also see how he takes and learns from what he's seeing and trying, just in that one battle alone And also in the fact that he isn't all amped up and angry when he finally beats them all, just calm but grieved
One of my favorite foreshadowing is when they escape sentinel’s Guards after getting their Cogs, Orion tries to transform but just gets its head inside, sort of goofy moment. But after becoming Optimus Prime he uses that same move to avoid getting shot in the face by Megatron. This movie is amazing.
That’s what the matrix does. He has no clue what he’s doing or how he’s doing it but he’s adapting to the fighting styles of the Primes. His body looks like it’s doing half the stuff on autopilot but you can definitely see him understand why it’s happening and how to use it. Imagine getting mentally flashbanged with the collective wisdom of all the original primes including Primus himself, having to comprehend and use that in the span of like, a few seconds.
@@ItsMeFPSalmost like body memory which is lowkey cool as fuck like this new body of his got all the sweet spots now it’s for Optimus to optimize them to the best of his ability
He actually doesn’t know how to fight that well the Matrix gave him fighting skills and wisdom of the Primes so that’s why he is able to stand upto Megatron who was superior in fighting
@kyrios1120 In fact, megatron does not know how to fight either, since it is quite noticeable that he fights more by impulse while optimus fights more defensively than offensively until he obtained the axe of Zeta prime
I love the symbolism of Optimus and Megatron Birth. Megatron looks like he's risen but in reality has fallen, by becoming a Monster who just killed his "Brother". Optimus looks like he's fallen but instead Rising up as a Hero, who will lay down his spark for others, so they can have a better future.
@@StanvilleBrown i fukkin' love how they presented their contrast in this movie. How they gain their follower (Megatron trough dominating the high guard making them respect him out of fear, Orion trough motivating the miners making them respect him out of pure admiration and bravery), their action, their change, oh god i really regrets missing the screening.
1:37 Not sure if anyone noticed it (I didn't the first time), but as Orion fell, everything underneath and around him kept moving and opening up so that Orion kept falling deeper and deeper, straight into Cybertron's core. This is showing that Cybertron itself, or rather Primus himself, is acting so that Orion can be given the Matrix of Leadership.
You know seeing as you say it I told a pair of friends of mine who are casual transformers fans but I know some from others that was no ordinary hole that hole was my guess the well of allsparks where all are one. some how I bet you heard this before because 2 sparks died that day D-16 and orion
My question how did prmius know what was going remember he planet size being ur telling me he can see what's happening on his back or well kinda of below his skin where the city is
The attention to detail in this movie is so good. I just noticed you can see the yellow energy of Optimus' axe transfer through his body from hand to hand at the end of the battle.
2:23 I like the detail of Sentinels body tarnishing to grey instantly after he dies. Really sells how they are more than just robots. His body got cold after death like an organic life forms would.
It’s a side effect of the Spark chamber going offline. In the same way a heart pumps blood through the body, a spark pumps energy through a transformer. When it stops burning, the flow ceases, and all that’s left is empty, lifeless metal.
Rest of Iacon? That would be the case given to implication of some Cybertronians who turned out too fanatical toward Sentinel even after his lies were revealed or worse, being Quintessons' disciples as much as him.
@@stephenbyrne2170 No, Iacon would've fallen under a dictatorship with rage issues over Sentinel deceiving him. Megatron's safety wasn't Optimus' concern because his actions proved that all of Iacon was worth saving over the transformed D-16.
It's sad too, because you can understand D-16's anger, the grief, the betrayal, his emotions are understandable and relatable but his actions are not. His want to fix the injustice caused by Sentinel is understandable yet his actions do the complete opposite with consequences that lead to Cybertron's eventual downfall, it's a surprisingly deep and profound message for what's meant to be a somewhat kid oriented film.
6:52 Optimus could have absolutely followed through with that last swing and taken Megatron's head. He intentionally turned the axe up and showed mercy.
@Kaltsit- It felt like Optimus was still not used to his new body and power in the beginning, but as the fight progressed, he became more acclimated to it, and by the end he had fully comprehended his strength.
@@Kaltsit- Well yeah, he wants to end the fight in the best way he possibly can with minimal risk to everyone involved. He could've chopped Starscream in half but chose to throw him out of the way instead.
I noticed a small detail: When Megatron is fighting both Elita and B he sheathes his arm cannon and uses his fists instead. While Megatron's not above fighting his friends he won't use his arm cannon lest he kills them just like he did to Orion. There's a bit of D-16 lingering in him
Not yet, at least. But that won't stop him from trying to kill them later. From robbing Bee of his voice, from forcing Elita to choose between Earth and Cybertron. From ending the lives of countless Autobots. To allying himself with Unicron and becoming Galvatron.

@@liesel_lex3380 D-16 was being rather honest with his reply on "Stopping" Sentinel Prime. I mean, and being honest, I would have said the same thing. After all, he idolized not only Megatronus but also Sentinel. To later learn that Megatronus was killed by Sentinel. Followed by Sentinel killing ALL the primes. Yeah. To learn your hero is in fact a monster. I'd snap too. Now to go as far as D-16 did and became Megatron. I would not know. If being honest still. Most likely. Rage is just a powerful emotion and "Drug". D-16, self-proclaimed Megatron, was rather "High" on rage. He was not thinking clearly. And really the whole "I am not saving you, anymore." line. That just symbolizes that he was tired of weakness. Saving those weaker than him. If they were strong or even stronger than him. He would respect them. But in his current mindset. All bots are tools to be exploited. The weaklings shall be purged and only the strong remain. Anyone that become stronger than him. Even challenge and beat him. They deserve to lead. Protecting the weak is for chumps. His new mindset.
@@Qardo Yeah, I can completely see where his rage comes from and, as you said, rage is one hell of a drug. Also him always having to be next to Orion and his mindset didn't help at all. And the "I'm not saving you anymore"? I saw it as D-16 being tired of always having Orion's back while Orion refused to do the same once; when he decided he was gonna kill Sentinel, Orion just got in his way. Meanwhile D-16 always saving him and following his crazy shenanigans that got them in trouble... Seems only logical for him to do what he did while high on rage.
I love their rivalry the most, because prime and megatron agree that they're still brothers in the end. No matter how much they pester each other, if it came down to it, they will look after each other
@girl1213 Another thing to point out, is that Megatron usually sees reason after he sells his soul to Unicron and becomes Galvatron. It takes putting Megatron in a position where he literally cannot _think_ without Unicron's approval, to get the message through to him.
@@kingcamelot1395 Not if they're going to bring in Unicron in this series at this point, but the fact that we saw Primus and his transformation into Cybertron hints at the possibility. But it's not a sure thing since this movie was focusing on the Origin of Megatron and Optimus Prime and they're acknowledged to be "young men" at this point in their lives. Usually it's well into the future when Unicron appears.
@girl1213 In fact, the film's art book nicknamed the cave where the primes' bodies are like the unicron mouth, so there's a good chance that unicron does exist in this continuity
I love how at 6:47 you can see the energon from optimus' axe transfer through his body to the other arm as he switches hands with it. this movie is so detailed I feel like people are still going to be pointing out details 10 years from now
I know, right?! It was something I never knew I wanted, but can't imagine why I never thought of it before. They're the TRANSFORMERS, for cryin' out loud! Of course they're gonna use full and partial transformations to gain the upper hand on a fight! :D
I love how this movie, rather than focusing on looking realistic like the Bayverse movies, embraced the cartoonish design of the characters but made their own modifications, which honestly seems more natural for an origin movie The vehicles (Aside from Megatron mostly) don't strictly resemble earth vehicles, you can see it in their silhouettes somewhat but some details like the wheels being metal instead of tires and no noticeable space for people to be inside
that's has been a thing since G1, right in the first episode we see Wheeljack, Bumblebee and the seeker trio in their original cybertronian vehicle modes
Transformers 2007 Optimus: You gave me no choice brother. Transformers the last knight. Megatron: We were brothers once. Optimus: Once. Gotta give the bayverse credit they had a good run before this, but it's a damned shame we won't get to see unicron.😢
In my opinion it really is sad that Prime and Megatron were like brothers until Megatron corrupted and let anger and hatred consume him and he didn’t want to fight his brother but Prime had no choice because if he spared his life, including himself Megatron would destroy all of Cybertron
My biggest gripe with bayverse is the transformers never got to feel like people, they were just background noise so when lines about how they were brothers always felt empty because we never really got to know they as people, tfo really delivered when it came to character writing
3:05 Man I did not expect to hear a part of transformers prime theme in this movie and I am so happy they added it in prime is my favorite series the nostalgia the theme gave me was insane
This was such a great movie. This just proves we don’t need human interaction to have a good transformers movie. I hope we get more like this in the future. And can we please get more transformers games like the “War for” and “Fall of” Cybertron games
I don't think "human interaction" was the problem. I think the interactions were cringe, I can watch good kids shows and enjoy them, but the situations and acting were plain stupid even if it was meant for kids. They could have done cool movies with human interactions if they cared more about the stories rather than just the special effects getting all the budget.
The only transformers movie since the 87 movie to give transformers fans proper fan service. Absolutely amazing 🤩 I just wish you guys had experienced it in the theatres like I did with my two young boys. I really hope they continue to make more
Name me what you will but seeing their frienship in that scene early in the movie when D-16 helps Pax hide in that huge box, Pax gifting him that Megatronus sticker made this hit so hard. Those damned chopped onions appeared out of nowhere. Also at the end of this fight when you see Megatrons sadness just sitting there silent. Like he just fully understood what he did and the betrayal of his best friend in the world. Best Transformers movie ever for me.
Also that small flashback to where it all began, after all the adventure, pain and suffering, seeing that flashback scene to simpler times just hits hard, its the moment their friendship was born and its a time of innocence and joy that will never return and will be lost forever.
There's also the fact it slowly fades as time goes on, before getting removed entirely by Sentinel; his last remnant of their friendship stripped away, nothing to remind him of the past...
Props to Bumblebee going straight to business at 4:29 after he saw D-16 let go of Orion and almost killing Elita. He quickly realize that is no longer his friend D-16 but a tyrant named Megatron.
At 7:14 after Optimus said those words “You Betrayed Me.” , Notice How Megatron Stood up Speechless because those words hit him, but his new persona made it seem like he brushed it off.
Megatron knows D-16 wouldn't have let Orion fall into that pit, so he knows Optimus isn't wrong to say that. But Megatron can never accept being wrong.
What I love about this scene is their respective fighting Styles. Megatron is very much an offensive brawler type. He fights with rage and brute force. Optimus, on the other hand is very defensive, countering attacks and only trying to diffuse the violence. He never outright attacks Megatron, where Megs is trying to beat the life out of prime. This movie is fantastic.
You can sense the raw emotion in their fight. One fights to save his planet without killing his former friend and the other fights to force change while cutting ties with his weak past. very good.
7:28 “I’m sparing you, Megatron. I’m letting you go in the name of our past friendship. But I warn you. Even a single step out of line, will result in your permanent end.”
Can I just say, I absolutely adore how creative both Optimus and Megatron were with their transformations and switching between forms and even improvising mid battle. Megatron reattaching his cannon and Optimus swings it down, Optimus using the wheels on the back of his legs in order to try and get Megatron off of him. Also that 1v3 smackdown was just great.
@SWR_Quackula Well, considering the original transformers, comics were set in the Marvel universe it could happen but not likely. Of course, other continuites have them in the same univers as Star Trek and another in the Ghostbusters universe and even G4 MLP well transported that world and then the Ponies visited Cybertron so it's not out of the realm of possibility.
@@MrDraycanakatheotherbrit Transformers multiverse is intertwined with the Marvel multiverse Comics got Earths 120185 (Marvel-UK) and 91274 (Marvel-US)) GI-Joe as well (it, 2005 IDWformers (AKA the HCBU) being stated to be Earth-7642, which has the Distinguished Competition in turn)
You can see D-16's eyes turn yellow after he accidentally shoots Orion, which proves that he still had some sense of their friendship at that moment. However, after that, they proceeded to return to the normal orange colour before turning red. At this point in time, D-16's rage had fully taken over him.
Brian Tyree Henry really out did himself with his incredible performance and his deep understanding of Megatron since always wanted to play the villains. Every villain is a hero of his and her own Story. D-16 is not only a product of Cybertron’s corrupted system and takes on Sentinel Prime’s oppression though violent means all the social injustices he had experiences forged his transcendence into Megatron and building up to a rivalry with Orion turned Optimus Prime (due to wanting the same goal of a unified Cybertron but have different viewpoints). But their friendship is doomed since they discovered that shocking realization their leader Sentinel Prime had sold out Cybertron to the Quintessons after betraying his fellow Prime brothers and sisters, and ruled his planet through oppression. D-16 has put too much faith in the system he has held on to until his worldview was shattered that boils up to anger and a personal vengeance after being suffered of the social injustices while Orion still kept his optimism by exposing the truth of Sentinel's corruption. Before entering the core of Cybertron, Orion is willfully sacrificed his life for the sake of his brother’s mortality but that effort is in vain. This what makes D-16 a much more of a compelling hero-turned-villain and tragic character in Transformers history. And the rift between two brothers. Both D-16 and Orion really wanted a unified Cybertron but each have different ways to bringing it into fruition.
@@xanderguldie D-16 was tortured by Sentinel Prime who crudely welded the face of Megatronus Prime decal on his chest with glee previously. So yeah he really wants to tear Sentinel apart and did exactly that.
Yea, when D-16 said he would never follow another "so called leader" ever again, it really was over for their friendship. There never was any chance of Orion as Optimus Prime reconciling with him-at least, not so soon after his killing of Sentinel.
A cool little detail is when Optimus tells Megatron that he’s banished, Megatron’s red eyes fade a little bit, probably because of his realization that his best friend is now his worst enemy, and right after his eyes light up a little bit more red than before.
To me it's more him being shocked but at the same time feeling regret for his decisions too. Both of them have made decisions that now condemned their lives into a never ending battle.

as someone who grew watching TFP, 3:05 gave me chills because of this music and the speech, later I discovered that both TFP and Transformers One share the same compositor also, great movie
the music in this whole part of the movie is really underrated, the scene was already heavy with both departing their past and changing and evolving to what they are now but the sound makes the fall and rise more impactful...

One small detail I loved while watching this moive is the Orange starts to turn red little by little in D-16 eyes after learning what Sentinel Prime did.
Shows how Megatron was born from despair and loss of hope rather than just appearing out of nowhere. He's a creation of a young bot losing his sense of self and falling into hopelessness
I love how the matrix gave him so much defense because when he got shot by D 16’s gun earlier he got one shot, but after D 16 got a upgraded gun, Optimus prime took it without any major damage

I love this movie dude
1:37 Not sure if anyone noticed it (I didn't the first time), but as Orion fell, everything underneath and around him kept moving and opening up so that Orion kept falling deeper and deeper, straight into Cybertron's core.
This is showing that Cybertron itself, or rather Primus himself, is acting so that Orion can be given the Matrix of Leadership.

2:23 I like the detail of Sentinels body tarnishing to grey instantly after he dies. Really sells how they are more than just robots. His body got cold after death like an organic life forms would.
It's just like a reference on how how optimus died back in G1.
It’s a side effect of the Spark chamber going offline. In the same way a heart pumps blood through the body, a spark pumps energy through a transformer. When it stops burning, the flow ceases, and all that’s left is empty, lifeless metal.
What’s interesting too is that in the tomb of the primes, they still retain their color, so it further signifies that Sentinel is a fake prime

Same thing happened to Orion while he was falling
I feel sorry for Optimus. The very first thing he had to do as a Prime was the very last thing he wanted to do at all.
Yeah, first and second.
But if he hadn't declared Megatron's banishment, the rest of Ioacon would've ended his life.
Rest of Iacon? That would be the case given to implication of some Cybertronians who turned out too fanatical toward Sentinel even after his lies were revealed or worse, being Quintessons' disciples as much as him.
@@stephenbyrne2170
No, Iacon would've fallen under a dictatorship with rage issues over Sentinel deceiving him.
What I really love about this movie is how the characters utilize their transformation abilities in fighting. Awesome.
6:52 Optimus could have absolutely followed through with that last swing and taken Megatron's head. He intentionally turned the axe up and showed mercy.

I noticed a small detail: When Megatron is fighting both Elita and B he sheathes his arm cannon and uses his fists instead. While Megatron's not above fighting his friends he won't use his arm cannon lest he kills them just like he did to Orion. There's a bit of D-16 lingering in him
He's never completely gone, but his influence is limited
Not yet, at least. But that won't stop him from trying to kill them later. From robbing Bee of his voice, from forcing Elita to choose between Earth and Cybertron. From ending the lives of countless Autobots. To allying himself with Unicron and becoming Galvatron.

This movie started out so kid-friendly... ended up being more mature and compelling than any of Michael Bay's movies!
I know right?! First D-16 saying he wanted to kill Sentinel, and later just ripping him in half? That went from 0 to 1000 REAL quick and REAL brutal!
@@Qardo well said
@@Qardo Yeah, I can completely see where his rage comes from and, as you said, rage is one hell of a drug. Also him always having to be next to Orion and his mindset didn't help at all. Meanwhile D-16 always saving him and following his crazy shenanigans that got them in trouble... Seems only logical for him to do what he did while high on rage.

I love their rivalry the most, because prime and megatron agree that they're still brothers in the end. No matter how much they pester each other, if it came down to it, they will look after each other
Usually when threats like Unicron and the Shatter Glass universe are involved
@@girl1213 The point being that is usually how Megatron sees reason, through his slavery to Unicron. I said nothing about the _when,_ but the _how._

However, after that, they proceeded to return to the normal orange colour before turning red. At this point in time, D-16's rage had fully taken over him.
The roar from the crowd in the theater when Prime erupted out the ground and landed was insane!

The 13 Primes are actually stronger. Even in the old series and Bay's Live action films, the Old Primes can match and beat Optimus in a 1v1.
One of the strongest. If he dies, he's usually resurrected soon afterwards with even greater power.
Primus and Unicron: nope
I love how he switched the energon axe from one hand to the other.
This movie did not deserve to flop, but thankfully it's growing in popularity because it's just so good.
6:28 I just love how Prime’s smoothness in this sequence feels natural
D-16 caught him, Megatron let him go...
I love how the matrix gave him so much defense because when he got shot by D 16’s gun earlier he got one shot, but after D 16 got a upgraded gun, Optimus prime took it without any major damage
Bio Electric AURA bro
i was never a transformers fan but this movie was way to good. WAAAAY better than what I thought it was going to be.
This movie is fire.
doesn't even feel like a transformers film, it feels like a fan made film made by truely dedicated fans, but this movie is WAYYYY better than 4 of the Bayverse movies, and ROTB.
@@vince_x_sanas much as I love 2007 and Bumblebee this movie beats both of them as well.
@@thelvadam90, indeed.
@@vince_x_san lol ironically, Michael Bay is the producer of this movie.
1:42 this part is just… absolutely chilling… The techno parts that samples “The of death Optimus Prime” in the 86 film… D-16’s eyes glowing and tracking in rage… Orion Pax falling through Cybertron and into the well of sparks.. and finally we see… two who were once brothers… now into enemies of one another until death…
2:29 As Sentinel Prime becomes one with the Allspark, the Thirteen Primes would be waiting to give him punishment he deserves.
Somehow, I don't think he'll be going there.
I think primus rejects dark sparks i don't think he allows bad sparks to be again one with him again
@@ntinosaggelopoulos6718 Only those who use Dark Energon flowing through their spark like what happened to TF Prime Megatron who end up with Unicron who then takes over his body reformatted in Predacons Rising film.
@@TheWarmachine375 i mean transformers cyberse when Shockwave wanted to return to the allspark with his spark to destroy it his spark was dark
@@ntinosaggelopoulos6718 True but Cyberverse Shockwave deliberately tainted his own spark to do that. Sentinel was just a greedy bot who wanted power to himself yet didn't taint his Energon aside stealing Megatronus' T-Cog for himself.
the fight scene is actually so good, it's been awhile since i've watch an actual transformer fight. like for real they keep going back and forth different weapons this is how i actually imagine a transformer fight would be.
3:06 That Transformers Prime theme kicking in was peak cinema (not kidding). Still get goosebumps on hearing that theme.
3:50 I AM MEGATRON
ARISE..... Optimus prime
@@foxstonie2785megatron: burn it down all of it!

Elita 1: We have to stop him, c'mon!
@@Mattzilla_editz elita one: stop! Its over!
@@АленаСкаредина Megatron: IT'S OVER, WHEN EVERY LAST OF HIS BOTS IS DEAD
3:55 “arise Optimus prime”
It was born optimus prime
The moment where we all *clapped.*
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What makes this scene perfect is the use of transformers prime sound track.... Damm, this is one of the best transformers movies to ever come out, maybe the best
4:37 Foreshadowing of Bumblebee losing his voice box to Megatron in the future.
Maybe it won't have to happen in this new timeline. Bumblebee doesn't always have to be mute.
@@stephenbyrne2170 Almost everyone he interacted with wanted him to shut up, so I'm pretty sure he will be mute.
@@stephenbyrne2170idk through out the movie they referenced bumble bee being mute in other canons like when the squad saw the surface bee said “Im Speechless”
@@animator049 I'd imagine it's more of a jab at the Bayverse version that might as well be a completely different character from the original.
It was blitzwing who did that
look at starscream at 6:37, he tried to do the move he did on d-16 when they first meet and fought
Well, he wasn't successful as Optimus was far more stronger and 6:40 yeeted him.
