    Thanks for the video, Pascal! Perfect timing for this video as I'm considering to get an ATPL. Everybody says the time is perfect right now, but when I look for job offers it doesn't look that great to me. Most companies still require a lot of flight experience and some even a type rating. I just found a handful of companies in Europe that would hire people with a frozen ATPL. Not even to mention that it is still in question if they would want me personally when I apply. With my current engineering degree I find hundreds of job offers in a radius of like 100km. So when I compare to that it still doesn't look right to me to take the risk even though I would really like to :(

    • @Pascalklr
      @Pascalklr  9 місяців тому +1

      I totally understand your concerns about pursuing an ATPL. It's important to weigh the pros and cons carefully. Your engineering degree does provide a strong alternative path with many job opportunities. If aviation is your passion, consider exploring aviation-related roles that may align with your engineering background, such as aviation maintenance or aircraft design. This way, you can still be involved in the industry while having a stable career. Ultimately, the decision should align with your long-term goals and priorities. All the best mate 🙌✌️

    Hey pascal thank you for the video, but I also want to lay something out. With the current wars going on right now, I would say be a little wary if your going into pilot training now because here's a simple analogy, the countries that are high producers of oil are directly or indirectly involved in wars right now which gives a high chance of price of oil increase again and no matter the demand if the airlines wont be able to make profits they will cut you off, especially if youre a new pilot. So just take this as a lil warning especially if you're like me around the age of 18-19. And no Im not a pilot, I do want to be one though, so yeah good luck

    Hi. Pascal zuallererst wollte ich dir sagen wie unglaublich gut ich deine Videos finde und vor allem wie inspirierend. Ich möchte selbst irgendwann pilot werden. Ich war letztes Jahr im Dezember auf einer Infoveranstaltung der EFA und die meinten das man über eine Bank Namens Albatros wenn ich mich nicht Irre einen Kredit für die Flugschule nehmen kann. Hierbei muss man "nur" 30.000€ Anzahlung leisten und den Rest bezahlt man wenn man einen Job gefunden hat ab. Da ich momentan erst in der 11.Klasse bin und daher noch mindestens 3 Jahre brauche bis ich mit der Ausbildung anfangen könnte hoffe ich das es bis dahin wieder, oder immer noch, einen guten Bedarf gibt

I hope the pilot shortage will grow or remain the same in the next two years, as I’ll be over 30 years old when I finish with my ATPL. However, I have an academic and military background in Air Force with abroad mission. I am still a high school student, and I want to become a pilot also wanted to graduate from a prestigious university. If I try to do both then it will cost a lot of money, it will create pressure on my parents. My parents will make me join air force(i have no problem with that, but my uni dream). I am really confused what to do.. I think I need a good advice from you as you're already a pilot :)

      I was basically in your situation in HS. If you’re very set on doing this as a profession, I recommend getting a job (I worked at a DHL warehouse during my college years) and go to inexpensive schools; highly recommend your local CC then to an in state school to help alleviate the cost of uni all while working towards your training at your local flight school during those 4 years. Once you graduate and depending on how hard you worked at it, you should have at least your instrument rating after those 4 years and hopefully a degree in a field that’ll land you a good paying job to help fund your additional pilot training endeavors upon graduation. I studied accounting and got a job in that field pretty much after graduation and that job helped me pay for my remaining licenses, teaching certificates and flight hours. After it’s all said and done, you would’ve differentiated yourself from the pack since you have a degree, all your flight requirements and a backup career path. Just my 2 cents, attending a prestigious and elite (expensive) uni isn’t really necessary in aviation unless you got an insane scholarship or you come from money.

    Hey Pascal, howdy! Great content from yours as usual. I would like to ask you a few questions regarding the DLR-Test + LHG assesment which you have went through before.
    1) will it all be in english?
    I found out that the DLR test can also be done in english, but i am not too sure about the LHG assesment.
    2) The European Flight Academy will also get me a bachelors degree, is it wise to also get a masters degree so that even if Aviation gets affected by Corona (example). I can still find other jobs? Is it worth the time and effort?
    *Note: I am 17 and I have 2 more years of school. Because I picked the language profile for my Abitur, it will come in handy in becoming a pilot as it is my dream
    Lastly: will the EFA also be completely in english?
    Thank you. Waiting for your response

    Guys don’t believe everything you hear on this video, privilege is invisible to those that have it. There are a lot of qualified unemployed pilots out there that are fighting for the few opportunities. It’s risky to get into especially with the amounts of money involved. Even in the US there are people struggling to get into the regionals or the airlines. Then you have to factor in the amount of discrimination & politics surrounding it all, go in with your eyes open. I qualified over 10yrs ago and can’t find a job, despite passing numerous assessments etc. on a positive note, most of the people I trained with have all found jobs now, some are even captains✈️
