43:55 So to explain this for anyone who doesn't know; The veteran's center is a big part of one of the villains's stories- We see it during cutscenes so I'd assume that's why it's fully modeled. The creepy song is also lore-related to why we can't go in there, but it's interesting to hear there's actual LOOT in there and we still can't reach it, even if we've finished the game!

Thank you for pointing this out! I was looking at it wondering why it’s on tier 5 because it’s not that mysterious if you play the game. I’d guess the reason why players are kept out of it is for lore reasons or simply because entering it outside of cutscenes can break the game (the game is super buggy). The image is from the loading screen for the Whitetail Mountains, so it’s mostly likely the game bugging out while trying to load (like I said, super buggy). Also, the song that plays is “Only You” by The Platters, if anyone is curious! EDIT: Also, the Veteran’s Center boundary works differently to the rest of the boundaries in game. I play with a mod that stops the game from booting me to a loading screen if I wander too far out of the map, and it doesn’t work on the Veteran’s Center. I just thought it was interesting.
The Skywell-27 Borderlands 3 Easter egg (around 24:30) that “creature” is actually just the end of one of the weapons the player was carrying. A lot of the weapons in the game have moving alien parts and glow slightly and that’s exactly what’s going on in the clip. Still a weird bug but it’s just the camera being inside a weapon model.

5:26 So for Skyrim, I am pretty sure that tower was included to be seen when Meridia's Beacon brings you up into the sky and you can see far off into the distance over the mountains, and the White-Gold Tower should be visible from there. When i was still in university i was writing for a game, and made the concept of intentionally having an area, allowing the player to break out of the confines of the map, and stumble across a cave out of bounds, that when entered would eventually lead to a pitch black, seemingly endless area, only illuminated by the players torch. Eventually the player would stumble across a 50ft house spider called "the ever watching eyes" When discovered, it would trigger a boss fight with the spider. Unfortunately had to drop out of university because of health issues. To be fair. doom's level editors don't assign textures to faces of sectors that are in the ground or ceiling when created. so when marking a sector as an elevator, door, or simply raising/lowering one you have to apply textures to those faces.
personally one of my favorite OOBs is in ESO, on vvardenfell. there's a way to get up on the cliff-face on the road north of lake amaya and wiggle your way onto the slopes of the volcano, and with some perseverence you can get into the volcano caldera itself. there's even a piece of rock to stand on up there. i've been there a couple times and taken some pictures too.
Hey small thing for that LBP3 one, getting the creative tools in that specific level isn't a glitch, it's part of the 'popit puzzle' quests which gives you a little hard hat which gives you restricted create mode (hence why the player has to stair way up and not just fly up there). Getting Larry stuck will also trigger it as the game considers the puzzle tutorial not progressing meaning that Larry has died, this part of the puzzle was supposed to show players how to rewind. I'm guessing it was cut because it's really easy to accidentally squish characters when you're just messing around with the tools, so punishing the player for an accident that means they're undoing their work might make the puzzles more tedious especially for people who started on the older games and already know what they're doing. Or they just thought killing Larry was a little too morbid lol.
8:42 the far lands also existed in bedrock (mobile devices only) until far more recently, being removed only in 1.17.20, which meant you could visit them using shaders and textures, and even with the new nether biomes, as they'd spawn in all dimensions. To this day, the stripe lands, the boundaries generating at around 16 million blocks from spawn, are still around. And even though they are what once was the second layer after the far lands, people have always and still do confuse them with the actual far lands.
IIRC with the Slender one, this was added into the game because of en exploit where if you went to the very edge of the map, Slenderman couldn't get to you, essentially creating a safe zone. So the Devs updated the game to have you fall out of the map if it ever detected you doing so and trigger the message and Game Over. I guess it happens anytime you're out of the map
Glitch City isn't a single location in the GSC Pokemon games, but a result of trying to read the wrong code as map data. There's an actual term for this, but I forget what it is, lol. I never tried this on my physical cart, partially bc I never had a GBC era game shark, lol. I think I played with it a bit on emulator, but can't recall for certain.
19:23 those statues were actually part of a community vote on twitter where the fans picked a statue to be added to the slums, the choices were Crane, Jade, a Volatile, and Gazi but idk if they ever actually added one also 43:58 don't you literally explore the vet center for one of the story missions? It isn't really an out of bounds secret
Yeah, you do explore the Veteran's centre in the very same mission that the "mysterious song" plays a pivotal role in. I remember this egregious error was what made me unsubscribe from Oddheader who was unfortunately seemingly used as a primary source in this video.
I'm surprised the Freezer isn't on this, it was an unintentional glitch in Saints Row 2 if you go out of bounds in a specific level, after a few minutes of walking around a shadow of a figure spawns in and the game crashes. If I remember correctly it's supposed to be an enemy spawning next to you but it unintentionally crashes the game due to being out of bounds.
2 things, first the gaben texture is also used in on a rail in the first room where you see the rocket if you noclip to one of the blast doors and second you can actually get the dead larry screen in lbp3 on a certain level but i forgot it you just need to kill him and block the respawn point
Everyone should go support Shesez. He does this out of bounds stuff and I heard hes having trouble with his channel recently and will hae to resell his house or something. His channel is pretty cool. Dont wanna see it die.
Regarding Skywell-27, that's the "Alien Barrel" available for some guns. It could be possible when the cutscene failed to load, it potentially revealed a trigger maybe?
That Life is Strange one isn't even creepy. Unreal Engine, like Unity, can use something called a 'light probe' to gather lighting information at different points so that the engine can use that data to properly light dynamic models (like an animated character or a player) in scenes where the light information is baked into the scene. A dynamic model will always ask for the information from the closest light probe, and since there's no reason for developers to place light probes outside of the playable area, Max and this sitting model are pulling that information from the closest existing probe otherwise. This appears to be a probe or series of probes that either exist just outside of a source of light or probes intentionally given zero lighting data to pull from. As far as the sitting figure goes, I assume that the person sitting in the window was supposed to be visible at some point in development, probably sitting in their bedroom window (in a higher detail version of that house) doing some sort of idle animation while Chloe and/or Max climb in or out of Chloe's window. When that was scrapped, the model was left there sitting in the same place they would have by oversight.
I always assumed it was a duplicate from Chloe’s house stored out of bounds, but never actually got called in. It’s still there in the Remastered version, though nothing changed.
The maggot-faced girlfriend from SOMA was intended for a scrapped dream sequence. You essentially walk through the main protagonist Simon's old apartment bedroom over and over as every loop causes it to become overtaken by foliage, and you end up in this small circular forest area where the player's empty grave is, and their girlfriend Ashley is standing nearby in a black mourner's dress. When you approach her, she turns around and reveals her face, then the dream abruptly ends. The developers just reused the model for the final dream sequence they went with, but kept her back to the player. Check out Jay davidspackage's SOMA: Data Recovery video for more context. That game has a ton of wild cut content, not that is SOMA isn't cosmically horrifying to begin with.

You didn't mention why the Dev Room in Fallout 76 was so controversial and only used it as an opportunity to talk about the bad launch of the game and to bad mouth the game itself. For those who don't know the dev room contained every single item in the game including rare items, this is of course pretty bad since it’s an online game and gave many players an unfair advantage. There was also a human NPC inside the room and at the time the developers said that there was no way they would be able to have human NPCs in the game.
Also they promised to unban people if they sent the devs an essay on why using 3rd party cheats in an online game is bad. They genuinely thought cheats were the cause of this.
The one about borderlands 2 was actually slightly wrong, the missing texture was actually inside the map and completely viewable without breaking bounds. and additionally, this is the only instance of this missing texture being used in the whole game as everything else uses a different texture, which has lead people to speculate that this was actually an intended easter egg. Also as for the bl3 one at 25:00 ish, you can ask literally any borderlands fan to find out that is an alien barrel for a gun. More than likely the player or a co op partner had that gun and the game just glitched out when loading and the camera was in a werid spot, showing the inside of the barrel.
Idk if it’s fair or not but I enjoy the condensed content from oddheader and others I’m pretty sure if your watching this you already knew about them and watched their content and needed more so this is nice
SourceBrew The boat people are jn the ps5 remaster too with a sticker saying "Did you miss us?" a develepoer confirmed its a refference/easteregg to how the ps1 spider-man games looked
The Veteran Center (i think that is how you Wirth that) is part of the Story line of Far Cry One Mission even plays there That's why it does have completed texture and one of the End Bosses Hides there so that is why you can't go there the thing with the Music also is explained in the story of the game so yeah not much of a mystery there if you played the game anyway
I know you couldn't include everything that Oddheader showed on his channel, but I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the skybox sphere in Halo 2 wasn't mentioned.
There are a ton of random out of bounds things in TF2 which can be found using the replay camera or programs like SFM. -In some maps if you clip behind spawn there are rooms guarded by Solider which when entered show Heavy and Scout looking at images of the robots from the Mann Vs Machine gamemode before it's release. -Another one I like is in the Banana Bay map if you clip under the floor of the BLU base there are bananas chilling out having a summoning ritual.
44:49 that image is the background for the loading screen! Each region has a different one corresponding to the character that leads the region, and that one is Jacob's/ Whitetail Mountain's
He wasn't talking about that, he meant the split second frame right before the loading screen where the player is floating in a pile of random assets under the map.
Whenever I think of out of bounds I think of is the unused part Queen Vanessa’s manor from A Hat In Time which is the 3rd floor that is right under the actual area which is really cool to see
So weird how these things always gave me the most ominous eerie feeling. Like as though these things weren’t made by devs but are actually conscious entities that created themselves within the simulated world of these games.
Holy shit! I saw the code in the SpongeBob game when I was younger by messing with the camera, but I didn't manage to find anything on it for so long. A shame it doesn't really mean anything, but at least I've closure now.
The swimming fish in THPS3 can be seen through regular means. You can't see them on the PC version since the water has no transparency. The water has transparency on the PS2 version tho, and you can see the fish there. It's probably like that on the GC and Xbox versions, too. So yeah, although very neat, it's not an out-of-bounds detail

the gmod tower thing didnt actually exist, the bullitin board was actually in that part of the map but the rest of the "secret" was a teaser for a interactive movie night they were going to host, where players would vote for what would happen in the story as it played out, it was going to be called "the streamer" and the plot was a gmod streamer would go insane and start murdering people, but it was scapped due to lack of motivation. the origional uploader was probably someone on the gmod tower team doing some guerilla marketing

19:23 those statues were actually part of a community vote on twitter where the fans picked a statue to be added to the slums, the choices were Crane, Jade, a Volatile, and Gazi but idk if they ever actually added one
also 43:58 don't you literally explore the vet center for one of the story missions? It isn't really an out of bounds secret
Yeah, you do explore the Veteran's centre in the very same mission that the "mysterious song" plays a pivotal role in. I remember this egregious error was what made me unsubscribe from Oddheader who was unfortunately seemingly used as a primary source in this video.
@@AnarchicKhajiitplease reconsider friend, odd header is the GOAT. Everyone makes mistakes.
Sounds like UA-cam shouldn't be used for only income. He should get a job that can support things that is reliable and steady.

New Vegas was on the gamebryo engine. It wasn't creation until Skyrim SE and Fallout 4
My brother and i used to play splash down all the time. the squid scared us but it was funny seeing us get thrown so we spent most of our time doing that
Capcom then: Decided to cut falling head from RE2 for being too graphic
Capcom now: *"Hey, you wanna see some guy's fucking jaw hanging on by muscle fibers?"*
They genuinely thought cheats were the cause of this.
any time is a good time to talk bad about that game.
Dust: An Elysium Tale is an absolutely underrated masterpiece!
Fallout 3 and New Vegas use the gamebryo engine not the creation engine
The creation engine IS a modified/more next gen version of gamebryo though
Idk if it’s fair or not but I enjoy the condensed content from oddheader and others I’m pretty sure if your watching this you already knew about them and watched their content and needed more so this is nice
SourceBrew The boat people are jn the ps5 remaster too with a sticker saying "Did you miss us?" a develepoer confirmed its a refference/easteregg to how the ps1 spider-man games looked
I thought they looked like PS1 models! That's super cool 😊
Using the MGS 3 game over theme is a nice touch 👌
Metal gear 2's arsenal guts too
Can’t believe you came out with yet another awesome topic I’m familiar with. Keep up the good work, SourceBrew!
I love how you put MGS music in the background. Really fits the theme of Iceberg videos.
I think the eyepatch for Ron the Narrator is referencing Deathstroke, another character Perlman voices
I was going to point out that it’s likely a nod to Slade from Teen Titans.
@@Goleon He’s even decked out in armor and has white hair too
The Veteran Center (i think that is how you Wirth that) is part of the Story line of Far Cry One Mission even plays there That's why it does have completed texture and one of the End Bosses Hides there so that is why you can't go there the thing with the Music also is explained in the story of the game so yeah not much of a mystery there if you played the game anyway

One of the community Halloween maps added a couple years back has an Among Us easter egg in an OOB room
@@teetree6661 oh, i didn't realise! my bad

That motorized Shark Fin easter egg originated in JUST CAUSE 2
Both games have been developed by AVALANCHE STUDIOUS
Whenever I think of out of bounds I think of is the unused part Queen Vanessa’s manor from A Hat In Time which is the 3rd floor that is right under the actual area which is really cool to see
27:00 That's most likely a reference to Only Time by Enya, if you didn't pick up on that
So weird how these things always gave me the most ominous eerie feeling. Like as though these things weren’t made by devs but are actually conscious entities that created themselves within the simulated world of these games.
Always a good day when sourcebrew uploads
Holy shit! I saw the code in the SpongeBob game when I was younger by messing with the camera, but I didn't manage to find anything on it for so long. A shame it doesn't really mean anything, but at least I've closure now.
We're finally getting into the miscellaneous and oddly specific icebergs
The swimming fish in THPS3 can be seen through regular means. You can't see them on the PC version since the water has no transparency. The water has transparency on the PS2 version tho, and you can see the fish there. It's probably like that on the GC and Xbox versions, too.
So yeah, although very neat, it's not an out-of-bounds detail
Man the metal gear solid soundtrack and stingers go so hard
@27:04 its a song titled called " Only Time "
you are so good at curating this stuff, man
The Iceberg lacks the Wreckfest easter egg, where if you get out of one of the maps there is a cow with a shotgun for some reasons :D
Another good old video by sourcebrew in my downloads
GTA San Andreas OOB is what really interested me in liminal spaces

the gmod tower thing didnt actually exist, the bullitin board was actually in that part of the map but the rest of the "secret" was a teaser for a interactive movie night they were going to host, where players would vote for what would happen in the story as it played out, it was going to be called "the streamer" and the plot was a gmod streamer would go insane and start murdering people, but it was scapped due to lack of motivation. the origional uploader was probably someone on the gmod tower team doing some guerilla marketing
u forgot saints row 2, the out of bounds figure named "the freezer", one of my favorites personally
Hope you make another video like this someday. There's still a bunch of Oddheader videos you haven't ripped from and incorrectly explained yet!

I sometimes find exploring out of bounds creepy. I don't know why but I get this feeling of helplessness and eeriness whenever I explored out of the usual playeable area. Especially when it's underwater out of bounds and the water is dark it creeps me out so much.

Great video! As a tip, your background "sourcebrew" scrolling text, with inner and outer shadow, plus a very disjointed color combination, plus text on top, in blue, with a different font, plus heavy drop shadow, is distracting and unappealing as fuck. You need a background that while interesting, doesn't bring too much attention or distraction.

So I just wanted to add this, and I didn't really know where, so imma do it here. I remember finding the Arkham Asylum Easter egg, the one that you find in wardens room hinting at Arkham City. It was that same year the game first came out. Before it was exposed/ I found out what it was. I believe i was stuck on a part, I remember just wandering around the game and just going back and using the gun to spray the walls. I always loved making a face and I just did it randomly in the wardens office, and BOOM the wall broke. I remember being pretty confused about it, but I just moved on, you See as a kid I didn't know what a Easter egg was, and didn't have a presence online. So I never told anyone, till now.
