    I recently bought a 4X heritage. I always liked the 4X but it felt a little too locked in for jazz playing. The heritage is more nimble and allows a bit more pitch flexibility. Demo video on my UA-cam channel. Its a great mouthpiece.

    Thank you for the video! Glad to hear they are finally making these. Out of curiousity, what are your thoughts on some of the other mouthpiece lines like the american Classic series?

    • @JoshRzepkaMusic
      @JoshRzepkaMusic  3 роки тому

      I haven’t played those in a while, but I’m a big fan of all the DW mouthpieces. Super consistent and always great core and articulation. My every day is the classic MM4C, I felt it suited my playing a bit better than the American Classic.

  • @artisfine
    @artisfine Рік тому +2

    Classic line has more core in the Sound, I like that.
    Despite of that the top notes pop out nicely with the heritage line. So for me it is the classic line, for a lead Player the heritage might be right.

    "these are going to disappear somewhere." LOL !!! We know where they are going, Josh! 😆Man, there were examples where I couldn't tell a difference. But, other examples I could hear that the Heritage shines in the upper register. I also like the body of the classic. I would honestly use both of them, especially since they'll feel the same on my face. Nice videos! I enjoy everything about them. . . . content, audio, video, edits. Keep 'em coming! Thank you!

    • @JoshRzepkaMusic
      @JoshRzepkaMusic  3 роки тому

      Yeah, it was very close on the recording. I need a ribbon mic and better pre-amp 😂😂. But, playing them it's immediately apparent. I'm definitely going to be using them all moving forward. The body of the sound on the classic is thick and full ... so nice. But it's great to have more options.
      It was good to get the 4X on my face a little bit ... not on the road I haven't really played it much in a few months. 😮
      Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🙏

    My Denis Wick brother 😂 I’m excited to get this piece soon. I got the Heritage S recently for my pic and it’s really nice. Smooth and helps a bit with the damn intonation. Nice review. Definitely could tell differences on most, but not all. Maybe with headphones!

    Think the difference more apparent to the player… feel and auditory feedback. But their was a small difference and bit of added edge to your sound in the heritage pieces.

    • @JoshRzepkaMusic
      @JoshRzepkaMusic  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, depending on the speaker/headphones you listed on it may not be too apparent, but from my end the difference it very noticeable. I've got another video in the works ... comparing all 5 weights of Denis Wick mouthpieces - likely with section multi-track ... that will be far more noticeable.

    The 4X isn't new. Kids been using them in marching band from time. They're like a cross between the Shew Lead and a Bach 3/4c.
    I wish Wick would make a mpc with the 4X rim and a deeper cup. That would be ideal for me, personally.

    • @JoshRzepkaMusic
