He hasn't worn them much in the winter because he doesn't like to spend too much time cleaning them. Plus he's been in the shop so most of what he wears is steel toe right now

I’m a truck driver and was looking at a pair of these. But I’m afraid they will wear down to my socks after a few trips.
Btw, I make that run (Seattle to the NE) constantly. It’s a nice drive but boring.
I also run Seattle to the SE (Florida, ga, sc, nc). That’s a lot better views and less tolls with better food for sure.
You're right. That northern drive does get pretty boring. Especially after Idaho. These are calfskin so you're right not as tough as leather from an older animal. You might want to check out the Jackson from Tecovas. They use cowhide and it's thicker. Also if you're making that northern route on a regular basis, it might be a good idea to but rubber sole savers on Tecovas. That way you won't slip as much in the winter and the boot should last a bit longer

I agree, always thought I’d be a roper heel guy, but now I’m leaning the other direction. I just bought the zip on Deans. I’m hoping the hybrid heel they have are a great in between.
What do you think of those Deans? I gotta say they're not completely my style. I had a couple of zip Aldo boots that were western style too but I could never feel the same about them as my other boots

These road trip tests are great. I wish more people would do this. Maybe you can branch out of western boots and try these sort of things on lace up boots like Red Wings or Whites?

I'll still wear a roper boot but I just don't feel like I would want to wear them a week at a time again. I just like the cowboy heel better!

Ohhh so jealous! Shark skins are amazing. I haven't tried them yet but I can't wait to come across that brand in my travels
Cuadra,nothing wrong to said abou it,they make good boots and FANCY styles,but nothing compared with Tecovas,you get quality,traditional look as authentic cowboy for great price.

Yeah I think I really want to try those Wyatt the one you're talking about I've been wearing cowboy boots Ropers Packer style lace up my whole life I'm from Sunnyside Washington if you ever come down to the Yakima Valley you should come through Sunnyside is this is a farming Community I think you would like like it here still a good little town it's changed a lot through the years but still good around here be nice to see you do a video here hopefully one day you will pastor till then keep making those videos I love watching them

Nice man, my Johnny boots are holding up great, the only problem is that they are suede and it gets dirty fast and there is a tad bit discoloration that i havent been able to take out yet, when i was scrubbing them a bit of the stitching for the folds near the front of the boots came a bit loose but ill snip them off with scissors. Kinda wish i got just the regular leather cause thats way easier to clean but they look awesome. Overall good boots so far
Yeah suede is finicky like that but the stitching will come loose whenever you clean any boot. Happens to me too on my regular boots that get a lot of wear and need some heavy cleaning. What are you using to clean the suede?
@@JeremiahCraig kiwi suede cleaner with several different brushes also with a suede eraser which has took alot of the spots out. I think i just have a perfectionist eye cause i don't think anyone would notice what is on there now lol
Same stuff. I also use a water protectant with my Frye suedes which darkens the leather a bit. Yours are already waterproof so there wouldn't be much use for that.

I received my Tevovas Caiman belly ropers yesterday. Absolutely love them- but they are too wide for my narrow foot. You mention you have a narrow foot. As a cowboy boot authority do you have any suggestions? I did not know if I can PM you to discuss? Thanks

I was hoping to make the Tecovas Cartwright my first pair of cowboy boots but ran into a problem. 15D too big overall. 14D too small (tight in the toe box and heel). 14EE way too wide. Any suggestions of other brands that might have a different fit? I loved the quality and look of these boots for my first pair. Would love to find something similar.
Have you tried going up in size? I found the same thing going with my 11 size. Haven't tried the 11.5 yet. Otherwise I might say try Tony Lama
Well I’m almost always a 15 but they were big. I would say for a proper fit in Tecovas I would probably be a 14 1/2 which they obviously don’t make. I will try some other brands in my natural size and hope to find the right fit. Didn’t want them to be loose right out of the box because from what I’ve read the leather will stretch more and they might end up looking and feeling ridiculous. Anyway, thanks for the reply and advice. I’ll be in boots soon enough. Love the channel!

I haven't. I'll see what I can do though. Cartwrights seem like a good boot though. Very similar to the Earl except more of a classic cowboy style
Jeremiah Craig I ordered some Cartwrights in black and a day later Tecovas finally informs me that no, the black ones are out of stock and I either need to switch leather/color or wait a month or two for them to go back in stock.
@@coreymarcum5728 In my opinion you should look elsewhere for boots. I bought a pair of Cartwrights and they had many problems. After talking to their customer service I got a replacement. But the sizing is odd too. The 9D feels like an 8.5 E. So they are a tiny bit wide and short. So unless you have wider feet I'd look elsewhere. But because they have free returns if you really want to give them a try it was very very simple to return them. They have the return lable in the box so you just have to slap it on and ship em back.
stitching on the bottom comes out fast
Soles wear down a little quicker than I wanted. But I wore them for a month straight.
Also, they still smell brand new. Like, perfect leather. It's amazing
I've heard the same thing about the soles still they are very enjoyable boots!

I've worn 10.5 E in Boulets for years so I just thought that was my size. It wasn't until I started doing these videos that I realized there are so many different sizes in boots. On average now I'm picking up an 11D... The lizard skin and the suedes are both beautiful. I like the feel of Tecovas and I hope to get the Wyatt sometime in the future

This is the desert color. They discontinued it in many models and replaced it with the natural color.

Jeremiah Craig, I thought the tecovas don’t fit you? I also am a 12 b. The roper Jake felt pretty loose in the instep to me. I recently ordered some docs in goat leather and the fit is a lot better, especially if I wear boot socks. What do you think is better, wearing a thick boot sock or adding in a insole for the heel just to take up that remaining space. I tried a full insole but made them to tight.

I just own a pair of chukka boots and they are really comfortable for long walking and standing days, and I love the look of cowboy boots. I would like to know your opinion on buying a first pair, which type of heel should I get.

Mine had stitches pop very early on. They were fitted correctly so I have no idea why. Other than that they’re great.

I used to wear sizes 8 1/2 in shoes but when i started to use boots (timberlands, doc martens) i had to size them down to 8 especially for the timberlands. What size should i go for when buying my tecovas? The shoe size 8 1/2 or the boot size? Also i just bought some running shoes off rebook size 8 and they fit really tight not sure if itd be the same with the tecovas
If you can, try on coqboy boots in a Shop because you usually size 1 whole size down at the Start and for some people thats perfect but some people need half a size smaller and some not at all so i would reccomend getting your Boot size

Jeremiah, pants too long. Covering up good looking boots makes zero sense. Screw styles. After spending money on a pair its really silly to cover them up. Show the heel and more of the mid section.
All ther boots are ropers so why no selection most younger people dont wear ropers ther wear a buckaroo square toe or a snip they are work boots as far as I’m concerned and ther all ropers even with different heels it’s like boulet I live in Canada the most boots they make for men are them j toe I believe your brother wears a j toe or close most of yours look like construction boots that’s why I don’t like the big round toe a little rounded but pointy a roper is a roper also your feet are not the same one foot is bigger on most people why do they not have a heel for the rodeo guys ther should be a lip on the top of the back of the heel for real cowboys that use them to ranch and wear spurs real cowboys
Your lyrics are good but your voice is too fancy for country music. Use your normal voice and it would be a ton better in my opinion.
Cool glad you like the lyrics. This is my normal voice though. Just in a lower register. I tried it out in different keys and ended up choosing the key you heard because I felt like it created the best dynamic of feeling and storytelling. It's all experimenting though and if I always did the same thing I would just get bored. Thanks for watching!

No offence taken. I thought you were talking about a different song originally. I play around with the dynamics of my voice all the time. It just keeps things interesting to me and allows me to tell stories differently. It can get confusing but my mission is to also help ward against listener fatigue as well
