When we saw Geometric Future's Ark Model 2 case online, we NEEDED to have it, but when it arrived, it looked a little different... With a unique adjustable motherboard tray, a striking design, and an I/O puck, will Adam be impressed by what this has to offer, or does the build quality leave too much to be desired?

calling your company cuktech in 2023 is actually insane behavior.
It wouldn't have been any better at any other time
They knew what they were doing. A little viral marketing can go a long away... in popularity... and very quickly into obscurity
“The "CUK" (/kʊk/) in CUKTECH is the recognition of the Čuk circuit, which is a special type of DC-DC circuit topology proposed by Slobodan Čuk in 1976. The CUK circuit's high efficiency, low ripple, and flexibility not only align with the modern demand for efficient energy utilization.”
@@macking104 that almost made sense.
insane...? or based?
CUKTECH is probably the worst company name I’ve ever heard lmao
They make security cams so you can check in on your wife while you're at work.
Don't forget their sister company, TOPSIMP
Imagine having to watch while other people charge their devices with your charger.
Not to be mistaken with CUKTENT.
Adam22 makes bank on his side sht tho
whoever decided to greenlight the CUCKTECH sponsorship is either the absolute funniest, or the most oblivious person alive. and either way its hilarious.
20$ are 20$. And it gets people talking about it, so success.
Yvonne greenlit it
I'm convinced it's a Dbrand front
A yes, let’s add dust filters but also fully allow air to just go around them
God wanted a gaming PC this time, alas, Adam wasn't as capable as Noah
nvm noah put two male lions in there
God says lots of gamer words on CoD lobbies.
2:21 i bet the one hole allows for the plastic nub to rest in sorta like a detent and the one screw acts as a hinge so you should theoretically be able to open the side panels like a door
at 17:03 you can see the panel moves so i do think that there only being one screw is on purpose so that you can "adjust the side panel" but i have no idea why you would want to do that
@@Tuntalunta ha ha, just wrote my comment on the same line before reading yours.
LOL he almost called it garbage after he heard the price but then stopped midway and corrected himself it would been fine if this was a fully metal case but not with all that plastic.
Eh called it garbage after

_But you know what’s NOT a disappointment of biblical proportions? This segue…. To our sponsor!_
Gotta love sponsor block
It's extremly nostalgic to see your comment, think it's been a few years since last random time. Brings a smile on my face reminiscing about the "old times" of after effects tutorials and call of duty edits.
@@ImClaux yeah I’m still around, but I don’t really have enough free time anymore to make new edits or tutorials. Would be nice to though.
... to our sponsor CUCKTECH! Oh... maybe not the nest segue
Guaranteed, whoever at LMG gave the go-ahead for the sponsor did so only to have someone say "Cuktech" out loud on camera.
They first turned up on the "we accepted everything" video
I love that he acknowledges that this would be a fine product at a lower price point, as most things are, but that there's just much better alternatives in the price bracket it's in.
looks like those panels are setup to hinge open with the detents to hold them in place.
LUL he keeps accidentally opening them after commenting they should hinge open and never notices...
@@DerrickBommarito This.
They only hinge like 15 degrees though
ha ha, made a comment abou this after 2:35 of the video. annoying to see another video not prepared, again.
@@theod9548 it’s a short circuit, not a review. If they spent time preparing for shit on this channel it’d lose the whole point of it. That’s the ethos of this channel. If you don’t like it, watch mainline LTT instead.
The nylon ties refer to the zipties not the velcro
Yeah, that gave me slight secondhand embarrassment.
then whats that long ass velcro for if not for power supply?
@@Prlz3Adam's instinct was probably correct, it can be cut down to size
good question@@Prlz3
I just realized they still have the counterfeit pillow from 2021
That is an insane name for the sponsor's company. That's hilarious.
The double hole is just for an alignment pin.
cuktech is the sponsor my girlfriend tells me not to worry about.
The radiator mount looks like it's cut out for a cross flow radiator. Mount the rad to the outside of the bracket and put the fans inside, and it would also give you more room inside, but you don't get your fancy rbg fans showing from the outside.
I like this approach to front I/O, you could virtyually get any usb-c hub to replace it if it ever fails
They should make cup holders, then they could sell the Cukholder %)
and a competitor to Ring
You guys should do a review of the enthroo pro 2 server edition. The case can basically hold anything.
maybe the weird screw hole thingy is for alignment?
Damn they should've taken notes from the ssupd meshlicious. The side panels are metal and just pop in and out. Very convenient, and surprisingly secure
Seem the side panels are only attached with one screw so you can open them up, for whatever reason... I dunno if that will do anything for airflow, since it's pretty much open already lol.
Can we just petition Corsair to relaunch their Obsidian 250D? That was the true king of high performance SFF cases.
Thermaltake Core V21 is very similar in layout to the Obsidian 250D. and its only about £100. There's alsp the Thermaltake Level 20 VT, which looks even nicer.
@@drvish Did you even look at the Obsidian 250D? Smaller, better layout, side-intake for the graphics card to breath with room for a dual-120mm AIO on the opposite side intake/exhaust. Seriously, look up a full tour review video of it.
The company has some pretty cool looking case designs. Looking at the build quality of this though, I can't imagine any of them are good.
Honestly I just want the Noah Puck thing... Rest of the case can drown in biblical floods
They shouldve made the front sturdy and hindge open and have the sides look nicer but be week and then force you to use 2 360mm rads so that youve got adam and eve acting as your support and cooling for your gpu and cpu and the front hindges open so you can see them both.
The sides open up, via the single screw and mount nub to hold in place. Then you fold them out to get access to the inside?
Is CUKTECH Adam22’s company?
13:20 TBF that is literally supposed to replace the front panel IO that would be ON the case itself .. so its not actually supposed to be long. Its literally designed to be right next to or on the case. Also you can just buy male to female type C extension cables.
sure but its just another goofy design decision, also looks terrible just sitting on the case
The only benefit to doing it this way is being able to put the ports on top of your desk, which they defeat by shipping the super short cable, yeah you can buy an extension cable, but this just shows they didn't think this whole thing through properly. Also having a random cable come out through a gap in the case just screams "afterthought". If the dock is ON the case itself, you might as well just have ports in the case itself, without the weird cable coming out of the case, and the annoyance of the dock always moving when you try to plug in a cable. When the ports are on the case, you only need one hand to plug something in, with this dock you will always have to hold the dock with the other hand.
when Adam pulled off the viel initially, I thought it was an accordian.
the second "screw hole" was intended too house that nub to line up the one real screw hole easier obviously
Yep, skipped over the features that most people would find handy.
Shame intention didn’t meet with reality though 😂
Why on earth is the motherboard not on the lower side with the io aimed down. That would make much more sense for plugging things in.
if the panels were made out of aluminum or something it might be worth the money, and give the case some more rigidity. plastic cases are a no go for me. often times something gets broke when accessing to change hardware, or sometimes in the build itself. i had a case that had plastic drive locks with metal posts. ideal for one, maybe two uses, but then the rotating plastic lock often broke or was worn where it didn't hold the drive in place
On another review of this case I watched they determined that the mat is for setting the PC on
That was in this video too near the end
shoutout for the TV ON THE RADIO tshirt
I like how I had zero idea of what this was based on the video title and thumbnail
I guess you got my view.
That "customized" can easily be found on AE in this exact color scheme for next to nothing. Idk why you'd want one, but there you go.
I'm very curious about the end credits, was Linus actually there during the filming of this and if not why would he be credited as the director? I understand being a producer but not the director of everything that the channels do, he can't possibly be at the filming of every video produced and directed by him.
for a case this flimsy and barebones.. i'd say anything above 50 bucks is a stretch. quality-wise, this looks like something made using a 3d printer and nail polish. in terms of aesthetics, it actually looks pretty good. the lack of front i/o is pretty terrible though.
AIO mounting as-built is bad for the life of the AIO; the built-in res is at the top of the rad, and therefor the pump will start (eventually after the fluid level inevitably drops over time) getting air and die prematurely. Though the reverse-orientation would fix that. You didn't mention it though, thereby propagating the acceptableness of such an orientation (case manufacturers do it too; that doesn't make it okay).
Flimsy when the radiator / fan panels are removed? Of course. Why would you suspect different? I would've kept at least one of those panels for strength. IDK if when reassembling you misassembled it to cause that wonkyness, or whether the plastic is used for structural parts in places, which would be a bad design.
As to price, I'm not surprised. It's not a standard cuboidal box, and they aren't going to sell that many, and it's ITX with a relatively unique aesthetic. Saying that, this short overview doesn't fill me with confidence that it would be worth buying even if I wanted the aesthetic.
I would call that smallish form factor, as its pretty chunky for the stuff it can fit.
Is it water resistant?
Zip ties big enough for ki.... Wait what is going on at LTT behind the scenes??
They obviously haven’t seen the most recent addition to the Indiana Jones Series lmao. That old ass has access to time travel.
Indeed! He clearly has never seen Indy whip a PC together. Come on!
This case is hideous. I really wish Silverstone would make modern refreshes of the Fortress FT03 and FT03 Mini. Those were such sexy cases in their day. I had an FT03 back in the day with a slot-loading DVD drive and it was amazing.
wait...no IO so how you turn it on?
Seeing how that's connected for the side panels... the screws ARE The hinge. Am I the only one that thought that?
Screws are threaded, so they wouldn’t really work as a hinge
@@xionico09 Oh I'm not saying it's a good design. Just that is what it looked like.
if it was the 60-80 dollar price range i wouldnt mind that at all. and given that its like 30% open air, 69.999999% plastic, i dont get why it wouldnt be cheaper. they need to add some reinforcements and give a longer cable for the addon box and then bing bang boom
I've always wanted a computer case made from air conditioner filters
Are you sure the panels are not "hinged"? Looks to me like if you don't over-tighten screws they would open. And the extra screw hole is there for the little nub to pop into to hold it closed.
170 would get you an R7, even an R7XL ... sure, they are not small form factor cases, but just from what you're getting it's insane that this plastic case is in the same price category.
"Those are like kidnapping someone thick"
Looks like an Accordion
WIthout that bend, this case would have been a killer at 70-80$ price tag. I think they've done many innovation like marking the gpu sizes etc, but they wanted a big bite of profit out of this case. Come on it's plastic at 169!
I like how it looks but not how plastic and flimsy it is. Maybe it would have benefited with an all metal construction but that'll jack up the price so much.
Should someone check on Shay? Dude knows his "kidnap" cable ties a little too well lmao
Went to their web site and found out a lot of cool and pretty unique cases. This one in the video is probably their worst one imo.
that's what I was thinking, the rest of their cases seem fine.
@@chucklesdeclown8819 Yeah. The best one for me is probably model 4 King Arthur. Its really beautiful in white.
@@YuokoII I'm personally into the model 6 at least looks wise
I don't know, all their cases are kind of weird. In the M4, where does the power supply go? Why is all the IO on the top in the M6? They are different for the sake of being different, but only make the experience worse it seems.
@@makoaki9071 in m4 place for psu in front on top. Its weird choice bit it actually looks pretty clean. I have nzxt h7 and all IO is on top too so its not a problem. Ofc its better to see it irl to understand how good/bad they are but for sure better than this ark one.
That could have been a really nice case if it wasn't made as cheap as possible so they can increase margins. I love the puck and the design but the lack of a nice spot to run cables out and the fact that the plastic will look like garbage and get scratched like mad (if not broken) within 6 months makes it a complete waste. If it was made more robust and had some metal support for the side panels and a hinged panel for easy access I would be fine with that pricing.
Nice video length
CUCKTECH.... Watch your neighbor plug in and drain their batteries into what's yours.
I wish LTT would take a look at the Geometric Future Model 8 Cowboy
This looks like the sort of build you might see as a set piece in a movie or something. Not a close up, but a middle-distance prop. Close enough that you can make out the general design and might think _"Oh, that looks neat"_ but far enough away that you can't tell how shoddily made it is. It does have some nice ideas, but some questionable design decisions and overall poor build quality makes it a questionable option at best.
Or you just use a USB c cable and plug Noah into the io on the back.
I honestly would get it if it came with at least 1 TG side panel that you can place on any side.
Oh my wife’s boyfriend is going to love those power banks from the sponsor!!
Gold plastic? Heat? Hell no, that's a worse idea than the PS Portal
How awesome would be if Mr. Ford would see and answer the challange... :D
Someone get this man a new sweater!
I would buy that power bank so if someone asks me for a charger I can say "here use my cuk"
Were those meant to be swinging doors/panels?
Do not clean your computer with a normal vaccum.
2:16 "There is two screw holes here" 🤦♂️
I'm thinking that's not a PC case at all - it's a do-it-yourself accordion kit.
The dust filters doesn't make much sense to me... The case is open and the panels move, so why add them?
That figures, the biblical computer doesn't want you exposing your ports.
My current case has two USB 2.0 Ports........ (the white ones)
If you ever need an ark, I Noah guy.
my anker power bank's about to get cukteched
You know. Back in 2023.
I remember it like it was last year
I feel all CUKTECH watching this yeeeuuuch
cable ties? I thought those were tweezers!
Thats a very sad looking Christmas Tree in the back.
Cool case!
do people actually use their front IO? like I barely even connect mine, having cords and dongles coming out the front just looks and feels awful.
Looks like it might have to much airflow especially if you have a pet cat or dog that sheds alot.
The gpu just hanging like that lost me immediately
“It seems that some people may not fully understand the value of their time and effort, which they exchange for money. In my opinion, the cost of that case should be $20 at most, perhaps even as low as $10.”
Either Cuktech didn't forecast demand or they decided to run a promo and then not have the powerbank available? It's the sort of chaotic behaviour I expect from a company called Cuktech.
A CASE REVIEW!?!?!?
Yeah that's a hard NO from me. I was excited to see the design, reminded me of an old CRAY computer, then when we saw the plastic, flimsiness, wobbly design, that's tearing appart all the boxes instead of ticking them. In fact - I kind of expect this to come with a McDonalds Happy meal at this state.
It looks awesome and contrasts nicely with the now standard side-window cases. Hopefully the Ark Model 3 can fix the big flaws you, quite validly, pointed out.
My wife loves Cuktech
Is that a metric or imperial wackload of screws?
Immediate thought is "this fits in the Deus Ex universe"
“Ziplock thats thicc”
More like ThickLock
YEAHHHHHH
Looks like an accordion, acts like one two as its squishy!
If this was a $50-70 case with traditional front IO, it could make a lot more sense. $170? That's absurd.
none of the direct link in the description work btw, also who greenlight Cuktech for sponsorship
11:24 The {Leaning} Tower of Babel
How apropos.
