Currently on the fence between the A1 Combo and the P1S Combo. About $300 between the two at the moment. Core-XY vs bed-slinger. A1 Combo takes up more bench space than P1S. AMS-Lite seems easier to deal with than regular AMS, but regular AMS is enclosed with desiccant to keep filament drier. P1S is enclosed, so keeps dust and pets out. A1 has the fastest nozzle change design with one clip, versus disassembling the front of the print head on the P1S. Reviews say A1 is a little quieter than P1S, but P1S is also a little faster. I'm not currently interested in engineering-grade filaments, so I haven't included that, but the P1S would definitely allow for that if I changed my mind down the road. So hard to decide!!
I'm 14 and not really a beginner. I've had an ender 3 v2 for a few years and it won't work despite how many new parts I buy. So I've been trying to choose between the A1 combo (not the mini) or the p1s and I'm leaning towards the p1s because I feel like I'm already past that beginner area and I'm ready to start learning Cad, printing more often, and experimenting with more filaments. Yet I'm still having a very hard time deciding... moneys not a problem l've got enough for either one, if I do buy the p1s I will just buy the printer and then hopefully get the AMS for Christmas. But it's mostly just trying to figure out which ones better for me. Could I have some help making this decision?
Thanks for the video! I love the AMS lite. And I will never switch it. But I can find certain parts of it annoying, tedious, and downright frustrating. For me, the part that's most annoying isn't the waste, but how stl files not available on their makerworld app, you have to color the parts in manually on bambu studio and then manually select the filaments. It's awesome if AMS is automatically enabled on certain prints on the bambu app and the colors selected. But if not, then it can be a tedious process. And for more than 4 colors, you have to manually slice the model into parts to print and switch filaments in between parts, which adds another layer of tediousness. But 3d printing has come a long way and one day I'm hoping multicolor printing will go way beyond 4 colors, and will be a much more fluid, streamlined, and simpler process. TV used to be black and white, and now it's multicolor with OLED and 8k quality available after all. Fingers crossed! Have fun everyone who enjoys multicolor printing like me!
I’m getting the A1 Mini Combo for Christmas. What are the four main colors you would recommend to get if I want to print multicolor prints like the ones you showed off?
Sorry if you've already said it somewhere on your channel but can you share how to make those 2D photos? Those are amazing and I'd love to make my own!
What if I only want to print in one color....? No one talks about the downside though, you end up using sometimes 100%, 150% more waste. Also makes prints take 3 or , 4 times longer. For the price I'd rather get a second printer than a filament changer...

Ive changed my mind about 5 times...pro's & con's for each...thats the problem...not a straightforward answer...

What filament brands do you use in the A1?
Are you not doing Palmer Aquatics videos anymore?
very so much have A1 mini with AMS lite and just got my A1 with AMS lite -- trying to decide on a P1P or X1 C or maybe a laser cutter
Yes! Absolutely! 👍

For sure - go into maker world dot come and search “hueforge”
just search for hue forge wherever you get your stl,s.
What happened to aquarium fish?? Wondering where you went??
I’m new to 3D Printing. I’m getting the A1 combo . Jsut subscribe to you

It’s worth having an AMS for how fast you can change filaments
Short and juicy video
Yes, it’s worth it. It’s a no brainer purchase. Just be a bit smarter when you design multicolor prints that switch filaments too often.
