Right?!?! I got to see that stretch of Ocean Blvd mid 80s Was pretty beat up and just starting to be renovated However the buildings were all still painted in those wonderful colors I know all the white is modern and all but really they need to restore it back to those iconic Miami art deco colors Fountain Bleu as well Since Goldfinger , the poolside beach cabanas were sooooo Miami Modernization isn't always a good idea
True story, I lived in Naples Fl in the early 80s I worked at a new movie theater there called The Pavilion. Scarface was playing there. One night Al Pacino and Stephen Baur came there to watch Scarface. They wanted to see the audience reaction. Long story short, He was very nice Mr Pacino. Signed a movie poster we had for Scarface. Said a line from the movie and gave us girls a kiss. ❤️😊. Thanks for the great Vlog And Chris the girl
Dude I gotta say, I really freakin live the way you put this together. No clickbait, STRAIGHT to the point, and totally outstanding attention to detail which made this video super kick ass. I was actually right there on the street earlier today for the first time ever!! I stopped, and was like wait, this is THE scene. Thanks man! Fantastic video and the easiest subscribe ever!
Thanks for a great recap on the filming locations for Scarface !! One of my favorite movies of all time and you really hit it on matching up the screen shots at the locations.
Say hello to my little vlog! Thanks for watching. Here’s my last Miami video in case you missed the notification…ua-cam.com/video/bYhwY5hohT4/v-deo.html
Awesome filming locations! You did tons of research, and it shows. 👏👏👏 So glad the CVS embraced the locale, and it hadn't changed too much. Thank you, and enjoy Miami. 🤗 Ya'll stay safe! 🙌
Hello Chris the girl, you was great on Tampa Jays video and we are going to watch yours next. Your a great couple and we are glad you two found each other. In ten days my wife & I will be married 20 year's!
Great job Jay and Cris Haven't seen any other UA-camr go through it so thoroughly. Including some of your fellow colleagues lol Absolutely loved that movie! Thanks for taking us along. Really enjoyed this video
Great video brother. Scarface is one of my favorite movies, so I think it's really cool that you were able to see all these filming locations. I really enjoyed watching this video.
I have to say that your Scarface video is one of the best UA-cam videos I've watched in a while. I'm a big Scarface fan and to see the area's in Miami where the movie was made had me smiling throughout your presentation. Very well executed in every respect. Our national news media could take a lesson from how well you explained the movie. Being a Tampa guy I also love your other videos like the Manatee River bridge, (Orange Blossom Special). Keep up the great work and I'll stay a loyal follower.
Thank you so much man! That’s a huge compliment and I appreciate it! I had a blast tracking these down I am a big fan of the movie too. I appreciate you always living vicariously through my videos. It means a lot to me! Much ahead my friend!
I've stayed at a bunch of hotels on that strip/right next to that hotel, the memories I have of that beachfront street dating back to 1991 and up until now , priceless
i thank you for your wonderful and clear narration of the most iconic movie "scarface"..hoping many great movie location where it was shoot coming soon on your wonderful vlog bro! more stories and more power..
Great job, my dad worked at the Fountain Bleu when they filmed there. I was just a kid but spent a lot of summers in the cave pool. Also the CVS use to be Johnny Rockets, you could eat and watch the movie playing on a mounted TV. The 80’s was crazy down there.
Thanks for this inpressions. Im a Big big fan of this movie and i have long wondered what has happened in these places over the years. Kind of sad that everything is changing so quickly. Thank you for the great video. Love from germany
We were just there last week! Went to the stairs at cvs location and the Fountainbleau. Was amazing! When we go back we’ll be sure to visit the other spots you showed us. Thanks!!!!
Well done,Tampa Jay, that movie was epic, Pacino an awesome Tony & the 1st time I remember seeing Michelle Phifer. Beautiful area, as always thx 4 taking us all along on your location adventure
I'm so sad to see that so many Miami Vice locations have been lost over time. The OCB Building is a great example of this. It's a real shame that they've now destroyed the only original Scarface filming location in Miami too.
Hell yeah man. I was born and raised in Miami and I’ve never been to any of these locations. 2025 Brickell is my favorite. An amazing building, I want to go see for myself in person now. Thanks !
Yau are amazing! now i have to see the movie again! really wonderful filming and narration, great job!. you need to send this to pacino so he can watch this.
Awesome video and your matchups are always amazing! Chris the girl was looking beautiful you both were wearing perfect Miami outfits you look like could be in the movie! Segway funny back in the day I knew a girl who was in that movie I'm thinking she was probably en extra or something I still haven't seen it I'm a master procrastinator haha
😆..how about that red impala driving by at that moment you were talking about that scene..myself and my son are taking a trip to Miami next year from UK and this iconic spot will defo be one of our stop offs👍..quick movie quote “Maybe you can wrangle yourself one of those first class tickets to the Resurrection…So long Mel ! “💥Bam!
Great vlog, that spundtrack music immediately took me back, I had forgotten it but it's cool music can transport you back in time, I watched Scarface countless times when home video was kinda new, I was going to correct you and say it was Brian De Palma, thanks to Google it confirmed Oliver Stone wrote it, well played you.
Great video man I'm from Australia and this video was a treat to my eyes the pictures at 17:45 just how much the beach water look so much more clear and blue back in 83 it looks so damn good.
Just stumbled across your channel the other day. Really cool and interesting. Big fan of Scarface so this is great stuff! (By the way your fiancé is super cute!)
32:50 Just a small correction. This is a 1963 Cadillac Series 62. Thanks a lot for the thorough tour! I thought it was only gonna be the Sun Ray motel.
Oh wow! I love this.. Scarface is my all time favourite movie & I just got back from Miami a few days ago... I had NO IDEA this CVS was the hotel from the movie!!! I went right by😢
It's not "Oliver Stone's Scarface." It's Brian DePalma's Scarface. Olive Stone wrote the screenplay, but it's the director that gets the credit as being his film.
Kool video. It's actually the Kapok Tree, where the outside Babylon club scene was shot. I actually went there once when I was little. One thing you could do next time to edit into this video is do a short clip of the Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove where Brian DePalma actually went to see a real narco scene and which was the idea behind the Babylon club. In fact, DePalma wanted to use the Mutiny to shoot the scenes but owner Goldberg didn't want the attention. Just a few fun facts.
Tampa Jay, I was in Miami back in 1988. My buddy and I was in the right place at the right time, and we saw a night scene between two buildings there on South Beach being filmed for Miami Vice. When you videoed in the alley for this video, I almost thought it was the same alley where they filmed the night scene. It wasn't though. Miami is an awesome place.
I was just thinking about Grand Theft Auto right before you said it 😂Great video, been enjoying your and Cris the girl video’s. I’m a new viewer to your channels, helps me since I hv bn having shoulder issues 🌹
Thanks for the video, it's such a great movie! I wish they'd bring the color back to Miami, though. All those pastel buildings in the 80s are just white now.
Great video Jay! Really loved it; haven’t seen these in person in 15 years. Just wanted to give some love to Brian De Palma who directed the movie and Oliver Stone who wrote it.
Great tour! I've never seen Scarface, but love Miami Vice and it's interesting to see how close in time Scarface and MV were, but just how much more modern and advanced MV looked than did Scarface. Funny to think about because so many people complain about the change in fashion from early MV to later MV, when you compare MV and Scarface and just how different they looked. People want to smash all 10 years of the 80s into one look when that is far, far from the truth.
It is a beautiful place, but at the time it was simply magical by the pictures and videos available. Flawless architecture, simple but beautiful. It was a masterpiece back then, and Florida is a great place anyways, as beautiful as my hometown Florianopolis (which is famous among tourists from all over the continent as well).
❤❤ welcome to Miami welcome to Miami Tampa J you're awesome I'm in Jensen Beach right now I will not Mine taking a trip to Miami It looks pretty happening it looks lit😊😊
nice job that was fun. btw its not kay-pik, its kay-pok, as in tupac. the kaypok tree was a famous over the top chain from the 1960s. the most famous of them all was actually the kapok tree in clearwater near tampa.
HEY, TAMPA JAY & Cirs The Girl yeah that was one of my favorite movies back In the 80s WOW It's so crazy how much the city has changed since then Al Pacino was so cool In this movie he was getting to be a bigger actor After this one OK You two looking good Take care stay safe and I will see you two on the next video projects
Why would they butcher such a iconic place. They should have kept the room and made it an attraction
Right?!?! I got to see that stretch of Ocean Blvd mid 80s
Was pretty beat up and just starting to be renovated
However the buildings were all still painted in those wonderful colors
I know all the white is modern and all but really they need to restore it back to those iconic Miami art deco colors

Amazing story! Thank you for sharing that with me and watching. :)
Why would they go the opposite side of the state when the movie primarily took place in Miami?
@@IIIIIIIllIIIlto keep it somewhat low key
@@pakulera4663 yeah bull lol
No you didn't you ain't getting attention
Scarface is one of the greatest films ever made, thanks for sharing this! Well done
Can't believe it's been 40 years! Time sure does fly.
Great video TJ, enjoyed it!
The director is Brian de Palma and not Oliver Stone
Wrong. It's Fluffy De Meowfluff

I love these pilgrimages to iconic movie land/scenemarks. My "seared in my young brain" movie was Taxi Driver and Scarface was second.

You did a great job Tampa Jay! On spot with this classic movie! Thank you!
Awesome filming location Jay! Great movie. I will say the bathroom scene freaked me out when I first saw it. lol
It is probably the most horrific scene outside of a horror movie. Thanks buddy
Big brother is listening. I mentioned vacationing in the future in Miami and this video came up recommended almost 2 years later 😊

Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park 🏞️..great job as always
Great video! The Fontainebleau Hotel was also used to film James Bond Goldfinger scenes :)
Except Connery wasn’t there. Watch the movie in HD, he is acting against a movie screen of the hotel scenes
it was the Irene Marie modeling agency for many years during the peak modeling times and the Versace era

That Atlantis Condo was also used in the opening montage for the Miami Vice TV series as well with that iconic staircase.
