Many Cubans are pissed that they didn’t pick a Cuban to play the role just like Mexicans were pissednoff that JLo a Puerto Rican player Selena but can you imagine anyone else playing those roles after everything is said and done? No. Those people that are pissed should really watch a video like this and they will develop a different perspective once they see the care and respect and diligence an iconic actor like Pacino takes to fulfill the demand of a role. I will say this till my last breath, there ain’t a damn human on this planet that can ever play Tony Montana the way he did. Al Pacino is a genius, he literally gave life to this character and blew the world away when everyone first saw it. No matter how many people try or be better Tony Montana (pacino) can never be topped or imitated. I don’t know how he does it. But every film he has ever done or does he’s so different because he makes the character come to life to a point where you start to believe that this character is real and it is him. It’s almost as if he forgets he’s al Pacino and steps into the body of whatever character he is playing and he just forgets who he is and turns into a different person. Not caring how he looks or what people think. He just becomes the character fully and makes the audience forget he’s Al. ❤️

wrong, he was jealous of his sisters womanhood allowing her to assimilate to the country and find a wellsuited partner she could relate to. he weaponised her innocence would only show her affection when she was vulnerable and rejected her or would tell her off when she expressed any form of confidence and independence. he didnt want her but wanted control her sexually. their mum was protective over gina and angry at tony because she knew this sort of manipulation could ruin her innocence and pervert her mental wellbeing. tony being the pig that he is couldn't deal with the humiliation he felt when gina desired his friend and destroyed her the only way he knew how-violence

He isn't associated with this like Francis Ford Coppola is with The Godfather. But he deserves to be known for it, this was intended to expose the violence associated with the coca*ne trade. A political movie (just as 1932 Scarface was with Chicago mob violence)
Well said
@@Olsenator Ok we're done here, not talking to kids who have terrible reading comprehension. FYI, don't bother responding because you'll be wasting carpal tunnel. Run along troll.

huh, the orphan kid from the uk movies? nice to see he became a writer after and made scarface, weird connection
This guy is such a beast. Him & Rob De Niro are in a class of they’re own. From a whole different era of acting & showmanship that is forgotten today in most of the movies coming out unfortunately
What about Jack Nicholson
Leo Decaprio
Just good
Nothing great
Overrated
De Niro, Pacino, Washington, Nicholson.
Nothing could ever touch this masterpiece
A lot of people have ripped his accent in this, but I thought he nailed it. Knowing he had all those Cubans around him helping him along, now I know I was right.
moncorp1 chute that piece a chit

Even though I'm Cuban I'm not really familiar with Cuban accent in English
It would've been more realistic if he just spoke Spanish the whole movie
Anyone else would have failed miserably, Al Pacino did a great job.😆
Many Cubans are pissed that they didn’t pick a Cuban to play the role just like Mexicans were pissednoff that JLo a Puerto Rican player Selena but can you imagine anyone else playing those roles after everything is said and done? No. Those people that are pissed should really watch a video like this and they will develop a different perspective once they see the care and respect and diligence an iconic actor like Pacino takes to fulfill the demand of a role. That’s why no one else will ever top this performance.
LEDANCETHERAPY
My family is from Cuba I don’t know how anybody wouldn’t want Al Pacino to play that role
Ps according to 23 and me iam 14 percent Italian
Al Pacino is also extraordinary in The Devil’s Advocate. An elite actor.
That actually might be my favorite movie with him in it. That film is 10/10.
Thats a crazy movie
Charlize Theron acts so well in that film when shes going crazy its actually disturbing
He only acts when he plays himself … you know that right?! Hahanaha
@Khaos969 I agree , love her character
“Sanitation...I tole ju to tellem you work in the sanitarium no sanitation” 😂 one of my fave lines in this classic
Mine 2 m8 😂😂
He says you was in a sanitarium not you worked in a sanitarium
You shoulda toll them you was a horse.... and they would’ve let you in!! Omg the best movie!
"I told you to tell em you was in a sanitarium. You had tb, and you was cured"
Me and my mom always say this and laugh she goes" so watchu tell em" then we do the scene 😂😂
I remember Steven Bauer said that for years him and Al wouldn’t talk about the film but one day they bursted out loud and said it was a f’ing good movie.
Oh buddy just wait till hollyshit decides to remake it and turn Tony into a woman because Feminism lmfao. I can see them doing it.
Either a woman or a black guy....
tbh after the 70s he always played himself but he's so enigmatic that it's perfectly forgivable...

@@Mari000 Exactly, they say you can only play a disabled character if you're disabled or a gay character if you're gay, etc. It's called acting, not being yourself.
LemonZeppelin agreed!
The amount of work that goes into researching a character - Al Pacino depth of character is tantalising 👍
The music in Scarface was so epic so different interesting really a good piece of work
So true. It's definitely dated to the period (the synths) but it's just so good and so well written that it stays with you forever, as well.
often when I hear certain tunes I immediately want to see the movie again. It's no different after this youtube video.
The music was perfect! And at the start when they had Fidel giving a speech about the people that wanted to leave he said they were garbage and he didn't need them. It fit in perfectly!
@@belingonza318 There's something about the stereo mix of that song. On my old, old TV I always used to hear this percussion in it "cha-cha-cha/cha-cha-cha-cha" (like triplets).
But the last time I watched on a newer TV and I could barely hear it.
Anyway....that'll be in my head all day now.
Even the dance tracks in it "rush-rush to the yayo" and "she's on fire" (dark synths cut in cos Tony sees his sister being 'disrespected') are so good...lol It really does have the best music ever.
I’m Cuban and I feel so proud of this movie. Al Pacino is the best 🇨🇺 🇺🇸

Three months is too much
I was addicted to this movie for a period of 5 months. Every day I would finish college, come back home and watch a part of the movie. Pacino's acting in top notch. Not to forget the all the other actors were also phenomenal.
No doubt about it, Pacino plays a classic role known throughout the globe. Honorable mention has to go to the late & great actress Miriam Colon (who played Tony's mom). Her role was a short one, but a powerful one that went right to the core ❤
Miriam Colon was perfect for Tony's mom. She was great trying to protect her daughter from her criminal son.
I agree, that scene was memorable.
One of the most enduring pieces of art I've ever had the pleasure to witness. The movie is still underrated even today.
No, it's not underrated.
This film will forever go down in history as a masterpiece!
Nobody ever talks about how funny the character is I feel like. It’s one of my favorite things about him and I think gives him so
Much likability and cracks me up every time I watch it and it makes his inevitable downfall all the more tragic.
So true. He's hilarious. The things he says are hilarious. Every time I watch it I catch more.
Funny how?

Tony loved children. He felt a duty to preserve his sisters innocence for her own good. Tony was a man with heart.
wrong, he was jealous of his sisters womanhood allowing her to assimilate to the country and find a wellsuited partner she could relate to. he weaponised her innocence would only show her affection when she was vulnerable and rejected her or would tell her off when she expressed any form of confidence and independence. he didnt want her but wanted control her sexually. their mum was protective over gina and angry at tony because she knew this sort of manipulation could ruin her innocence and pervert her mental wellbeing. tony being the pig that he is couldn't deal with the humiliation he felt when gina desired his friend and destroyed her the only way he knew how-violence

You know this movie is a gigantic masterpiece when GTA dedicates an entire game to it (Vice City) and complies most of the soundtrack into Flashback FM (III)
Ironically they used the music in GTA 3, the game based on Liberty City - New York. They then made Vice City
I loved that game and it was one of the only games I ever beat. I'm a girl and I didn't even beat Mario bros. ❤
The irony is that this movie bombed at the box office when it came out in 83 and now its become this huge iconic movie.

Exactly,But al pacino said the coke was real without actually saying it.This movie came out during the crack epidemic.Even the director said wasn't sure if it was real. You think he would say no it wasn't real it was baking soda etc.My guess most of it was fake and only what he snorted was real.I am putting myself in the directors shoes.Food for thought.
If they were short a couple of mill then Pacino would just go on the street for em - a mill here, a mill there... they've got it! He hears things.

Al Pacino is simply amazing. After Brando he is definitely my favorite actor of all time. He has turned ordinary roles into great ones and great roles into classics. It is hard for me to say Tony Montana is his greatest role but it is just as good as Michael Corleone. And Sonny Wortzik is just as great too.
