Good morning, I'm sitting here waiting on my work truck to get here, and I saw your page and you were showing how to tie a loop knot. Thank you for showing me that. Have a great day
I like this knot, good strength. Can be tied easily, cleanest action. No worries about placement on jig. Plus its the easiest way to do a double jig rig.
No joke on closing that eyelet,,, I lost a jig this morning because of that. Also like this tutorial better than the one I watched this morning. Thanks!
Fella great job. No I cant improve on that . its a uni knot in essence. Ive stretch tested all kinds of knots. The uni by far out does all other knots ive tested. Ill test this one,but Id say it just turned into my loop knot. Thank you.
The only problem I can see with you loop knot, is that the tag end is pointing toward the mainline direction. When you reel it in, it will catch any grass or debris in the water. I tie my loop knot so that the tag end points toward my jig or hook. It cannot collect grass or debris. Good luck with your Chanel , Best regard, Dr D
This is a good strong knot mainly used when vertical jigging to keep the presentation horizonal but when bank fishing I always use a Palomar knot or a Trilene knot two of the strongest knots that wont break off.
This one's my favorite. It's simple & effective, n even doable with frozen fingers. I've seen it done other ways but they don't seem feasible in subzero temps with numb digits
It's one of my favorites too, along with the Snell knot that I use on Aberdeen hooks. I have a video on how to tie one of those as well. - Something Fishy
the good news....this is a great knot. i tried it today with a new lure and pro-cure "salt water." caught my first flounder....bad news....i forgot to check if my line was frayed and the flounder snapped my line. i am never going fishing again until this coming saturday.
watched three times, think? . it would make a difference, on . a simple minnow slip bob rig as well!!!! easy to tie, (yea practiced) kid will get it. if i did,
I don't have a favorite, but I like using two tone 2" artificial baby shades or the 1.5" stinger in two tone. The stinger I found on Ebay comes in a pack of 20 I think, for about $4.00. A black and chartreuse color works as so does pink. I like two tones because if the fish doesn't like one of the colors it may like the other.
This works. For another method, check video on Moon Dog Baits. Both are great, just that one is sometimes easier, depending on individual fat fingers! LOL.
I also like the kreh loop it's a little harder to tie but way easier to cinch good. I tie this knot a lot and if your not careful with it you can end up with a bad cinch which means a weaker knot.
I would use that loop knot on the top jig and the Lefty Kreh loop on the bottom jig of a two-jig crappie rig. Very nice tutorial, could see everything clearly. Thanks for sharing.
Moistening the line is not necessary for this knot since there isn't much friction. Thank you for your question regarding the Loop knot. -Something Fishy.
Sometimes the eyelet hole is filled with paint, so using another hook one can just poke a hole in the eyelet. Never worried about a sharp edge. The eyelets are made from round wire. - Something Fishy
Seems simple, but I must be an idiot. Been fishing over 40 years, and I tried this 6-7 times. Keep ending up with a 3 to 5 inch loop, which won't work. Has to be an easier way to tie a loop knot
I used this not yesterday and had a big fish hit my crappie jig. Fish was peeling drag pretty good then all of a sudden it broke me off. I know it happens but this was 10 lb braid and should have been fine.
I like the shad and setup, however lately I’ve done the same or similar and I’ve noticed the fish sometimes don’t put their mouth over the hook. Instead they go at the tail of the lure and back off once their mouth reaches the hook. This is the only problem I have with soft plastic lure fishing.
It could be their metabolism has really slowed down due to the cold temperature so they may not be as aggressive to bite. Down-sizing to a smaller plastic lure may help. Thank you for your comment - Something Fishy
Try a panfish assassin, I really like the black and chartreuse one, plus you can bend the hook out and put a crappie nibble so they're more likely to hit it harder. The Ultralight BnM pole is also really good for detecting light bites.
@@Something_Fishy I’m in Australia so it’s actually hot summer. However I’m in Melbourne and it fluctuates. I noticed in cooler days this happens but in hot days either no bites or HARD bites haha. I’ll try bending the hook as mentioned and smaller shad lures. I have so many lures! Haha
I think I have the same problem with my Mop flies, tied on a bead head barbless jig hook. I see my indicator pop under in a lake. I know it is not the bottom, has to be a fish, but no hook up. Sometimes they go for the mop part of the fly. Very similar to them grabbing the tail of the shad imitation. I was told that is why they call it fishing and not catching. LOL! Great video, I will try the knot on my bottom fly. I currently use the Davey knot, Very small but strong, I usually use two flies and have two Davey knots on the top fly.
Great not. I tie almost all my crank baits like this. It doubles the action. I jig a lot of different species. I have only put the bait through the loop once and have never had a problem. Do you feel 3 times through is stronger? I will give it a try. Makes sense. I learned that knot myself. Didn't know anyone else tied like this. Good luck with your channel.
Looks like a good knot. I will give it a try. Thanks.
Hope you like it!
I used this knot. I really like it. Thank you. You taught a 60+ person from Montana something.
Glad it was helpful!
I have always had problems tying Knots. Love your straight down to earth presentation without talking to much. Great Job!
Good morning, I'm sitting here waiting on my work truck to get here, and I saw your page and you were showing how to tie a loop knot. Thank you for showing me that. Have a great day
this is the easiest way i have seen so far!!! thank you
You're welcome!

That's my favorite way, I use that one all the time. Good demo Video man!
That look ferly easy especially in the cold weather
Yes, it can be done quickly and doesn't require a tremendous amount of dexterity, since that's one of the issues in dealing with cold weather.
Thanks for showing that knot. Please show some crappie fishing videos.
👍🎣🇺🇸
I'm going out for crappie in MI soon....def. gonna try the knot. Thanks for sharing!
Great how to on my favorite jig knot.
Thanks for the knot info happy fishing and God Bless!
Thank you for the video, everything you said about that knot makes perfect sense. I will be using it on my jigs next fishing trip.
Good luck!
Great great video and technique
This such an easier way to tie this knot than other videos I've seen, especially when using really light line. Thanks!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Good knot. I’ve been using it for years.
No joke on closing that eyelet,,,
I lost a jig this morning because of that.

I use a Palomar knot. This method you have shown is new to me. I'll definitely try it out!
Hope you like it!
I'm going to try this knot. Looks interesting.
I see you start threading the hook from the back ....is that what you are doing😊 good simple information 🎉!
This is all I tie 👏🏼
Thank you for teaching me this
You're welcome
I use an Orvis knot for its simplicity (fast) and strength, but now that you've dumbed down the loop knot, I will be tying it.
New subscriber! Great information on knots!. Thanks for sharing! 👍

There is NO problem with this knot. This is the ONLY knot I use with jigs
@@noblebey3899😂
@@WoodyWard why change what’s working? 😭🧐
How do you tie it differently so the tag end faces the other way?
Thank you, sir. I'll try that this weekend. 👍
You're Welcome!
Thats what I tie!
I use this on small jigs heads too, with just a piece of shrimp. I figure it can only help in the presentation.
Yep they hang correctly when you tie them like that.
Thanks for sharing looks strong!
It is!

Rite on. I no knot snell my circles for catfish, paired with the Palomar on leader n mainline to the swivel. I'll check your videos out though
Very nice instruction!

Canoe knot works best for me
Been using a similar not on crank baits, gonna have to give it a try on jigs now, thanks for the info……. New sub, looking forward to your content 😎NC

This is a surgeons knot with extra loops. What makes it better than the non slip loop knot, or the canoe man's loop?
What's your favorite crappie jig besides minnow
I don't have a favorite, but I like using two tone 2" artificial baby shades or the 1.5" stinger in two tone. The stinger I found on Ebay comes in a pack of 20 I think, for about $4.00. @@Something_Fishy is it called Jason stingers. Do you have a link
Yes, it's JASONS CRAPPIE STINGER 1.5" 30 PCK CRAPPIE LURE JIGS BLACK SPARKLE / CHARTREUSE

Loop knot for crappie jigs
Shouldn't you moisten line before tightening?

Same
So, like a fishing line version of a snap swivel, except less convenient. Neat!
Glad you liked it!
Same knot as a King Sling except the tag end is pointing in the opposite direction.
That not alone can mean the diffrence from no fish or a few.
I used this not yesterday and had a big fish hit my crappie jig. Fish was peeling drag pretty good then all of a sudden it broke me off.
I know it happens but this was 10 lb braid and should have been fine.
I like the knot but I always put bait on weedless

I use three just to make sure there isn't any slippage. Thank you!
And the tag end runs back towards the main line and causes drag and will pick up all kinds of trash; why not just use a Lefty Kreh loop know?
snot grass catcher
I tried to close that gap and I fucking broke the loop
Bro.. I'm doing Chanel cat for few months.. now I like pan fish .. this knot was one of the best .. 🫵🏻..
