Seems simple, but I must be an idiot. Been fishing over 40 years, and I tried this 6-7 times. Keep ending up with a 3 to 5 inch loop, which won't work. Has to be an easier way to tie a loop knot

And the tag end runs back towards the main line and causes drag and will pick up all kinds of trash; why not just use a Lefty Kreh loop know?

I would not use the factory grease if you can avoid it. It was basically like valve grinding paste. I also was a little rough on my screws, i think they are just cheap. I like the 1000 so much, I’d like to pickup the 500 series. I also started with a Lews 75. The bail spring broke in less than 2 months of heavy use, but i will say my man at the NE/PA Lew’s warranty claim can help you out with free parts.

I use an Orvis knot for its simplicity (fast) and strength, but now that you've dumbed down the loop knot, I will be tying it.

the good news....this is a great knot. i tried it today with a new lure and pro-cure "salt water." caught my first flounder....bad news....i forgot to check if my line was frayed and the flounder snapped my line. i am never going fishing again until this coming saturday.

That not alone can mean the diffrence from no fish or a few.

I like this knot, good strength. Can be tied easily, cleanest action. No worries about placement on jig. Plus its the easiest way to do a double jig rig.

i like the way you present things, and i like that you're not a one trick pony; i just subscribed after looking at your content, there are wonderful bank fishing opportunities where i live, Cheboygan, Michigan. everything from catfish to king salmon in the Cheboygan River, many fishing piers have been constructed recently; walleye fishing gets good in June on the river.

I used this not yesterday and had a big fish hit my crappie jig. Fish was peeling drag pretty good then all of a sudden it broke me off. I know it happens but this was 10 lb braid and should have been fine.

That's a great set-up year round, float n fly. I use the Leland Crappie Magnet Pop-eye hair jigs tipped with crappie nibbles. Those fish had big mouths, I would say probably bluegill - green sunfish hybrid. Green sunfish have large mouths like that, I have caught some when I've been bass fishing with #1 or #1/0 size hooks.

New sub, great video, this is my kind of fishing. It never gets old watching that float go under!!! And yes, I always tip my jigs with crappie nibbles. There is no doubt that they increase the amounts of bites that I get versus not using them. The black and chartreuse color combo always works good for me for all types of fish. I usually use crappie magnets or Bobby Garland baby shads.

Fella great job. No I cant improve on that . its a uni knot in essence. Ive stretch tested all kinds of knots. The uni by far out does all other knots ive tested. Ill test this one,but Id say it just turned into my loop knot. Thank you.
