Start from a far enough distance that tour dog is aware of the other dogs but still able to concentrate on you and slowly work your way closer overtime.
I have 3 months old GSD puppy and she is just terrified of walking at night. She is stopping doesn't want to walk and pulling me home like crazy. Same in a back garden...she is listening, she is taking food, but just focusing on coming back home rather than walking anywhere else. Would you say I should start feeding her last meal in the back garden?
You could save the last meal for that last training session of the day for sure! I would spend more time working outside making little checkpoints to work towards each day and then focusing on maintaining the walking pace on the way home. If you make sure you don’t go too far initially you can build up on it
Great post, very interesting and explained very well as always.
💯👊
How do we counter condition/ desensitise with food or a toy reward with a dog that guards food & toys with other dogs?
