Self wind on the Patek means if you’re not wearing it on the daily, you’re gonna be adjusting that “perpetual calendar” perpetually.
Never heard of winders?
@@MrPasqual1 You need winding wheel to make a winder work. Unless you use a drilling machine to wind the crown ;)
@@MrPasqual1 While there are winders that can wind a manual wound watch, you are talking about extremely expensive machines. I've seen them for at least $5-6k per watch. On the other hand, if you have a rotor, all the winder has to do is rotate as opposed to winding the crown. Frankly, if I bought a manual perpetual calendar, I'd likely wind it daily by hand.
That's something the servant can do.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I actually prefer the dial layout of the breitling as you see more of the numerals.. obviously love to be able to own the patek
Patek is a Patek. Supply and demand. As for a watch, in a vacuum, aside from platinum there is zero reason to spend the premium on the Patek vs Breitling. They look the same to me, more or less. Breitling might look even better.
Service costs on the Patek are probably the price of the Breitling!
Absolutely not. PP offers the service for around 800€
You'll never know
@@ronaldnixon8226 about what?
For the grand complications it’s a couple thousand for a service.
Those reliefs on the Breitling's subdials are stunning
I'd take the Breitling over the P-P even if the price were the same.
A manual wind perp calendar is absurd. I'd rather adjust the calendar on the Breitling every other month (or leave it wrong) than wind the damn Patek every friggin day.
Jeez people, just have your butler wind it.

I bought my Datora last year unworn for $8900. Can’t beat the Breitling for aesthetic and pricing. Received many compliments with that pretty copper salmon dial.🤔
Well done Tim sharing the Breitling's value! Patek is beautiful but most of us aren't spending $180,000 on one watch.
I am! My secret: I use a decimal comma. 😅
Patek watch price 2 millions $ not 200k
@@vt00786 some of them like a grand comp minute repeater perpetual calendar crhronograph or a grand comp minute repeater perpetual calender tourbillon but the perpetual calendar chronograph does sell for around 200 thousand dollars with the most expensive one , the one with green dial going for 380 thousand dollars
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Tim, I absolutely love these comparison videos. Please do more of them!
I will. These are enjoyable for me, too. The regular reviews at 8-12 per day are exhausting and repetitive. I like the comparisons.
Best,
Tim
In other words. Breitling all day erry day
The Datora wasn't on my radar before this video... now I'm thinking it needs to be the first chronograph in my collection.
180k for a watch is pure madness.
Pahhh tek 😊
Even if i was a billionaire i'd take the breitling. I love watches but that is just not worth 200k.
Glad to see someone got Tim some hand cream
And while you're getting those manicures, why not leave a free edge on the nail to you can work those quick releases easier? 😁
Patek is clearly the more beautiful watch. But the Breitling is an automatic movement, which is much more practical for a calendar watch, IMHO.
Of course, you see that the comparison was just for fun. It's somewhat frightening to see how many responses in this section missed that.
Best,
Tim
Not 170k more beautiful
I would like to see the Datora versus the JLC master control annual calendar. I think that’s a more realistic face off.
I mean the JLC Master control calendar chrono
JLC 759 40 x 12 mm, ...that extra 3mm kills the B with insurers, ...and is 1 mm smaller then the 5172P.
But, Ithink the real story is in Patents, having visited their HQ, and shown the power of the temperature bellows providing perpetual winding.
The date is easier to read on the Patek, and the Moon 🌙 Phase looks nicer.
The Breitling simply looks better, and is available when you want to buy one.
Not to mention Patek prices are moronic
Having a condominium on your wrist!
Dude learn how to film / stabilise your camera, it’s almost unwatchable.
The Patek should always win in this head-to-head comparison, but in bang for buck the Breitling wins
Yeah, Patek has met their match visually. On the course or at the club, nobody will be able to tell the difference.
You immediately recognize a Patek.
@@vodizzzle uh, ok
Not a problem I’m ever likely to be confronted with.
Have you seen a millionaire drive Honda Accord? I guess they only like Mercedes or Porsche Range Rover! Function are same, but different brand and price point
They both look cheaper than 10k if I am honest and ignore the brand names. But of course that applies to most watches. There is only so much visible stuff you can do to improve a watch and the point of greatly diminishing returns has been definitely reached once we arrive at 5 figures, excluding things like throwing expensive diamonds on it.
Your knowledge of these watches and their mechanisms is amazing
Didn’t we do this one already? Or did you just talk about it on the podcast? Id rather have the breitling and a nice car, but the Patek isn’t for people who have to choose, now is it?
It was on the podcast but also on the Weekend Watches episode.
Best,
Tim
What a Joke....$10k Breitling! The Other One is Just one of the Biggest Scams in Mankind History!
Oh $14 for New??😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really like the realist reviews. Obviously the patek is "better" but you can still have a lot of watch fun with the Brietling.
It look nicer as a 42mm, bigger window , don’t look too messy
Diamond between the lugs 😊
Tim: Keep up the great work! Your comparison vidoes are second to none.
I am local-Philly and have been supporting your channel and Govberg for a long time!
I love the clasp it's the same on my pistachio, the pistachio seems to need a fair bit of pressure to get the chronograph going but this seems easier
Nice comparison, though I doubt cross shopping of the two.
I think you lost the opportunity of mentioning the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar as the “middle ground” between the Breitling and the Patek Philippe
Breitling astonishing value and still very handsome.
I have the Datora and also bought the Premier bracelet and a Breitling blue mesh rubber with folding clasp to go with it. That thing can do it all. It's a cruise watch. Dinner, excursion, wave pool and champagne.
It is not in any way a Patek. I'd say comparing them is borderline disrespectful to the Patek actually. But for what it is that Breitling is pure awesomeness, and at the same time being a Breitling. The Barney Stinson of the watch world. And you know you love it.
Champagne now requires its own watch? Who knew. That said, I suspect those who can afford the Patek have their own water craft so they don't need to share with a cruise ship's unwashed Breitling wearing masses.
@@davidr2802 😂
Bruce Williams did the same thing: switching to polished Premier bracelet. The results were stunnning. Please wear your Breitling in good health 🙂👍
He did not talk about the heritage of Brietling’s premier line dating back to the 40’s
Breitling
Love AMZWATCH watch, Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
Cost no object the 5270P by far, Breitling is too big...
Why is the date ( number 9 ) on the Breitling date sub dial the incorrect way round ? It looks like a 6. Should've been flipped the other way around. Now you've seen it you'll never be able to unsee it.....just noticed, it's the same on the Patek.......even more awful once you've seen it
this is clearly a copy of the Patek, but i would not buy either. The Watch Hype is gone. Money pit.
The Breitling is the more ornate of the two, but I think Patek is the more dignified piece. Some people may think Patek is being cheap with its printed markers and sub-dials as opposed to Breitling's 3-dimensional ones, but no, this is the tasteful way to do such a complicated dial design for a gentleman's watch. Sometimes simple black ink is the best choice. And of course Patek's size and thickness is a full class above Breitling's.
they copied the design & everything from Patek Phillip..someone should call out this company like you would call out China…or is this western brand..do not be a hypocrite
God!!! AMZWATCH Who would have thought those gorgeous watches go for that low!!!
Make it $500 with a quartz movement and I might consider buying one.
Anything above is a waste of my money and an automatic mechanical movement is totally impractical.
Too much hype around the Patek. Just the hype makes it more like unaffordable.
Brietling on the other hand looks more beautiful and functions same as petek
If you didn’t know brands I gauruntee people would pick the Breitling
Breitling wins. It is thicker because it has a rotor. This is not unexpected. Breitling has all the stuff that I care about. I do not like to wind watches. Winding often just wears the seals in the stem and there is a chance of over winding which could cause some problems. Breitling is also water proofed to 100 meters. I have an annual Calendar which I wish I did not buy. Every time, I need to adjust it, I need to pull out the manual and read. I want watches the fits me not watches that I have to adjust myself to use them. I can wear this Breitling care free. Wearing the Patek, I cannot.
Regardless of Price, I would not pick the Patek.
Let's see: buy a watch and a house; or buy a watch. I'll prefer the former...
Nice comparison, though I doubt cross shopping of the two.
MAMACOO watch are the best, I say this from experience.
So Patek came out 4 years before the breitling (1941 vs 1945) with the moonphase triple calendar chrono datora ref 805 , which had a salmon dial and 18k gold case, not a huge age difference ? Only $45k per year 😊
Both have long history but the original breitling is much rarer
I cant believe people still consider lume a factor in comparing watches.
When people are saying #MAMACOO is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
The way he says Paaa teeek lol i think im gonna start saying it like that
Yeah never heard anyone pronounce it like that
Breitling FTW ⌚😉👍
Walker Donna Gonzalez Dorothy Harris Anthony
While the Breitling is a good proposition, the case thickness is too thick for my taste.
I’ll give you $100 for both.
I have the Breitling. Love it. Great watch. Only issue I ever had with it is the crown.....its kinda sharp. Not the most comfortable to wind. But in every other way is a solid, great watch.
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch
Your videos are really so appreciated
Is that two engineering degrees on your wrist or are you just happy to see me 😅
I bought this popular video watch from mamacoo , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
I bought this popular video watch from amzwatch , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
MaMaCoo You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see amzwatch work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
Thank you for doing this
All dat MaMaCoo watches sssssoooooooo gorgeous!
It’s a amazing video🥰
I still haven't seen and would love to, a comparison between JLC Master Claendar Chrono and Patek 5970. I'm biased coz it's my favorite watch but I think it's much close to the Patek than the Datora
These are too much alike.
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Breitling seems like the no brainer…
I would prefer the B09 Breitling Premier in gold which isn't much more expensive than the Datora and is a few mm slimmer and with a better movement. There is only a few K in it in terms of price.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Why are watch companies still allowing their watches to run slow is beyond my comprehension. If you are going to regulate a watch, why not make them all run slightly fast??? I hate a slow running watch!
Well, I don't know too much about watches, but as a leatherworker I can tell you that the thickness of the leather is most definitely not a sign of quality or an advantage, it costs exactly the same to cut a hide at any thickness you want. In fact in fine leatherworking bulk is the enemy, with the most expensive luxurious pieces being skived extremely thin, especially where multiple layers of leather connect and overlap.
Took awhile to see it, but the self adulation ableist award might see a noticeable improvement with curved pins, although they gave the 'numbers away to the 5170.
Anyways, I recall being asked about the impending design way back in the 1970s, the sponsors expecting an early certain patent conclusion in their favor, except that an interregnum was in their fate.
For some reason, I'm thinking the salmon color was hatched around either 1974/5, or 1983/4?
On the color wheel there was likely an anagram for 'it and its' complement. Lucked out on a first touch, but tried a screen shot and scrambled it.
Finally, the color is really copper, implying a Scarlett letter for Witches in need of Datura.
I love comparison videos
Ahh yes, two watches I'll never buy, pathetic that the Pateks seconds hand jumps like that
The Breitling looks nicer
I like the numerals on the breitling. Obviously we all know the Patek is better. But one is for the Uber rich who will Never wear or wear once a year. The other is for the wealthy they shows off lol. Jk. But I guarantee both watches will run forever as long as they are not abused. Just depends if you can write it off and if you are worth ten milly liquid or hundred tho liquid lol
So beautiful review
Wonderful views
I like this kind of watches
I'll take the Breitling and use the change to buy a pre-owned Lambo.
How is Patek ok with Breitling blatantly copying their design?
I have to say that #mamacoo 's watches is amazing!
Beautiful watch
hi I'm okay
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of mamacoo's watch 99% of people will never see.
I’d take the Breitling and 911 Turbo over the Patek.
Wow,beautiful 😊
Very appreciate ⌚
Good video
I think having a full calendar that isn’t perpetual or even annual is a little bit silly. It might not be “full” without the year but you might get the point.
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for amzwatch watch makers
