I've always said to people how talented, versatile Lzzy is, she can sing anything and everything with anyone and she never disappoints, and that's before you start conversation about her talent as a songwriter / lyricist!
You really compliment one another as vocalists. Connected with this song instantly back when the album was released and didn’t think it could possibly be better. I was wrong. Y’all, this was beautiful and so needed today. Thank you.
Not taking away from the other artists who sing with Lzzy, but she hasn't had any performance as a duet, that didn't sound like they've been doing it for years!!
Absolutely gorgeous song both melodically and lyrically. And thanks for the introduction to Ashley McBryde. Your voices complimented each other perfectly.
Adding Ashley in this video was perfect. I almost burst into tears. This song has always touched my heart, but this new version touched my soul. Remarkable ladies just remarkable.
Your voices blend so beautifully!! I am a huge Ashley McBryde fan, but I'm definitely digging the sound of this non-country track. The lyrics are so powerful and immediate. Two strong women and one strong song.❤❤ Also love the outreach for homeless youth. Our most vulnerable should not be unhoused.😢
Such a great powerful song. Brought tears to my eyes. Hits hard As I am homeless now after leaving an abusive marriage. Lzzy ur voice is so BEAUTIFUL & powerful. YOU SING LIKE AN ANGEL❤🤘🤘🤘
This has got to make some sort of massive waves in the music industry, a modern day "imagine" absolutely A1 work made even better with such a complimentary voice in McBryde.
Unfortunately this amazing piece of music won't be recognized for a very long time. The greatest of the great get recognition long after the (piece of music or....is created).
Awesome collaboration! Lzzy and Ashley rocked this one! Been a fan of Ashley McBryde for a while now. This song also made me check out other songs from Halestorm. I wasn’t disappointed!
What beautiful powerful voices, the song literally gives you goose bumps, there is nothing worst than seeing the dark truth about the streets and the homeless, thank you Lzzy & Ashley
This song should have been huge in 2022, it was needed then and it’s needed now❤️I’m tired of seeing the sickness..it’s horrible and people should jus let people be who they are
I have listened to this song a few times now, and I just can’t even describe the feelings I get listening to it. These two strong powerful yet soft and gentle voices just give life to such a heartbreaking topic. Thank you Lzzy and Ashley for this. 🤟🔥❤️
I see terrible things and i see beautiful things, the world can be Heaven or Hell , does it depend on us or on fate? This song already touched my heart in original version , now it makes me really cry with this amazing video and collab💖
The album is brilliant but I wouldn't have said this was the best song on it. However, this is the one that seems to have stuck. I find myself singing 'Ive seen terrible things... ahhhhaaahhhaaaaa' quite often when alone. I genuinely thought Asley was Irish when she started singing, such was the strength of the accent. Only a few thousand miles out tbf 😂
This song hits almost as hard as Dax's To be a Man. These 2 songs have really hit deep this past week for me. Im so glad we have amazing artists as these two that know how to put words into songs that we dont even know how to express. They do it and it tells the story for us. Amazing!!!
I first heard of Ashley in march of 2020 and I saw the video with Eric Church. I also know that Halestorm has played with him and I was really hopening for a collab with Halestorm and Ashley but I never expected to actually happen. now we have this wonderful piece from my two favorite artists, not to take away from it but I want MORE! Thank you for the wonderful song Ladies
This is really a nice song indeed. The whole instrumentals are pretty well done to me, including vocals by LZZY & Ashley McBryde. They all did great. As for music video, wow! What a great performances from these actors. The crew behind making the music video deserve round of applauses for their hard work. And way to go Halestorm! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

The Harmony you two create is beautiful, powerful, haunting. Terrible Things was the perfect choice for this first collab between you two. Thank you, #Halestorm , #LzzyHale, #AshleyMcBryde for an anthem focusing on homelessness. This is the most searing song I have heard since Vedder & Cornell became Temple of the Dog and gave us Hunger Strike. (RIP Chris Cornell. ❤🌹❤ ) Well done, Ladies.
For me this song was like a lullaby for this hard times. In a time of wars, watching extra rich people living next to extreme poverty, addictions, violence.. we can try to do I our best, to be good.
I had to write a paper for a philosophy class. I was supposed to make it on Powerwolf. Then, after a rather rough time (grief for my grandma's death 6, 7 years ago bubbling up to the surface) followed up by a vivid nightmare, I went back to "Back from the Dead". Each song hit like a truck. Since then, Halestorm as a whole and Lzzy's character in clips and on stage helped me patch my messy emotions together, living through self doubt, difficult tail end of teenage, etc. Terrible things in particular is a song I like to jam when I have the blues. Knowing that the band started out as a christian youth band, and then got a hard turn into the vibe we all know and love, it didn't surprise me that the songs hit hard each time. Say what you want about religion, but having a spiritual background, wether or not you decide to leave it behind, makes you for sensible on your emotionnal life and its link to reality, to afterwards keeping moving on. Terrible things as a song is just that: refusing to let rough time making you hate people, this world, etc. There is always hope, we can choose to do better, and so on and so forth; That realization, that's not something that hit me while reading Camus, Spinoza, Borges, Philip K. We learn our lessons
Then defy them

We carry hatred
Like a bible
And there's a hole in my life
There's a blackness inside
That's eating me alive
Leaving me to decide
Do I live with this pain?
As the rain starts to fall from my eyes
Asking myself why
I see terrible things
I see a sickness in a world on its knees
It will take what you love like a thief
But in my dreams I believe
We're not these
Terrible things, oh
Terrible things, oh
We are nothing without failure
But we have chosen ill behavior
With every scar we have learned
Not to heal, but to hurt
We've become something else
Even I cannot tell just why
I see terrible things
I see a sickness in a world on its knees
It will take what you love like a thief
But in my dreams I believe
We're not these
Terrible things, oh
Terrible things, oh
If I fall
If I run
That's when I
Will become
Terrible things
I see terrible things
I see a sickness in a world on its knees
It will take what you love like a thief
But in my dreams I believe
We're not these
Look at me and you'll see
I'm not these
