I like the character design way more than the other insect movies. They actually look like insects. 6 legs (even if 2 are used at arms,) highly segmented, no human faces with noses and crap, and the humanoid parts like their hands are excellently 'fused' together with ant-like features. If I saw their hands on a real ant, I wouldn't even think anything of it because it looks natural.
I remember watching this in kindergarten and the teacher asked us the “let’s see if you were you paying attention” questions after the movie ended.
She asked me what the ants nicknamed the boy and 5 year-old me thought for a bit before yelling a word that I thought SOUNDED like the word, “peanut”, but I, in fact yelled out a different word that got me in the principal’s office.

This movie, Over the Hedge, a Bug's Life and Ants had all fused into a super movie in my brain and this video has finally unlocked something that was missing hidden away somewhere. I'm pretty sure our local cinema screened this for my class at primary school like two years after it came out and it was erased from my mind hidden among other poorly memorised films.
Okay this is actually real though. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I honestly always felt sorry for that Exterminator. He was literally just an average joe with a job in removing pests that was hired by some shrimpy, whiny four-eyes to clean out some ant infestation because he got stung by an ant. Then while doing the job he was hired to do, four eyes permanently disfigures him in retaliation for attacking the ants that he hired him to exterminate in the first place, and then possibly gets stung to death moments later by a cloud of angry wasps.
Stan Beals wasn't a perfect man, but he didn't deserve nearly the amount of shit that twerp Lucas unleashed on him.

. i had that small disk player that ran on batteries to rely on for entertainment, and i basically took it everywhere as i rarely got to use smart devices or tvs. i can just remember from the back of my head one cartip, i'dve just been driven out of some mcdonalds on the highway, going home from a long trip, and my father pulls out the disk player. it was basically my childhood. and i can just remember how many times i watched lion king on loop on car trips, i basically know all of the movies that i had off by heart

Thanks for reminding me of this movie. I had an English teacher that showed us this kind of movies, with messages like this and there were a lot of movies she showed us, but I remember 3 of them: Spirit from that horse and the native, Ant Bully and that sad movie about a chicken that adopts a lost egg of a duck.
