Thanks for updating it, I was confused that I was on the wrong build until I noticed you had done a detailed update on the itemization choices. Also great choice using Quicksilver on 2 rather than 3, when I tried it out in game it made such a difference!
I love that we came to the same conclusions! I started learning Ivy (and the game) from using the build from your other video, and I gradually changed it to what I considered to be my personal preferences from there. Funnily enough, you have pretty much done what I did! It turns out the changes were not just a personal preference, but were simply logical improvements!
Ran with your build earlier today and actually did pretty decent for the first time since starting playing! This is my first moba like thingy game I've played and watching you has helped massively with learning the game and the character
I worry that by the time Deadlock actually releases this kind of Ivy build and playstyle simply wont be possible and they will just devolve the hero into something that exists purely to sit by another carry and press 2
@@poshypopDEADLOCK It's so satisfying to use for sure. I hope that even if Ivy becomes more of a fully fledged support that she is more of a damage orientated sort of support.
It would be cool if they found a way to let you specialize either supp or dps on her. It would really blow if they shut us out of this normal play style and forced us into a supp direction
Nice update, I definitely agree that farming up for a 6300 item early game seems like a waste of time for most builds unless you're playing a character who is strong early but scales poorly (IE Pocket)
Thx for sharing the build, trying to make bomber build since I like to one bomb hit. But of course Ivy need ze bullets to farm and kill in order to get there.
would love to see a top do's and don'ts in laning, or maybe like quick (30s each) how to lane against other heroes Regardless, great video - kepp it up
Thank you so much for this. Just tried this build for a few games and it feels really really good. Like you said, tesla bullets proccing those spirit items is such a game changer. I ran CATGIRL's build before and I really liked the emphasis on sliding and movespeed her build offered. What do you think if I personally swapped Bullet Lifesteal with Heroic Aura? Is the extra cost or lower lifesteal too much to justify?
Maybe this is just because I play against players bad enough to let me trade without giga-punishing but I absolutely love buying extra health early (usually right after headshot and basic mag). That bump from 550 to 770 for 500 measly souls gives so much more time before being poked out, and a lot of wiggle room to actually be aggressive on occasion. Experimented a lot with tesla today after watching this vid and while I do think it is just numerically worse than intensifying mag, (which was my 3k rush before) the playstyle it allows with silencer/shredder and the dummy clear speed are just so much fun. Probably not going back xD
Thanks a lot for the build! small question regarding the orange items when transitioning from early to mid game : What do you sell and in what order to get tesla/escalating ?
I've been using your build and loving it. Thoughts on superior stamina? I find it helps me chase down opponents even with my infinite slows because they still somehow get away.
Hi! I'm interested in learning to play Ivy with this style, but I have a couple questions / concerns. I have around 100 games of Deadlock in across various heroes, with Viscous basically being my main. What can you do if you're behind? Should you still try to build heavy attack damage / carry or should you pivot to more of a support role? Why do you go all in on the 3rd skill so early? I've only played like 3 games with her but it always felt just really awful to use and not impactful at all. How should you use your ult? Mobility? Try to actually hit things with the bomb? Drop your teammates into fights? I'm getting up there in years and my reflex time and especially aim tracking aren't great. Am I doomed not to be able to use a left click build on heroes? Is it too much of a nerf to raw damage to build in slows and such to help me keep track of targets in combat? Thanks for answering any / all of the questions - I love the guide and the way you have it formatted. Cheers!
1. You just farm the best you can and farm camps when wave state calls for it 2. For lane sustain 3. I use my ult to roam/move the map faster and to get my teammates into fights. I also use it sometimes in lane to kill the enemy 4. No, what I would recommend to do is try aimtrainers/practicing your aim, aim is pretty important for characters like this but I think anyone regardless of age can have good aim hope this helps sorry for the late reply
@@poshypopDEADLOCK Helps a ton, thanks so much! I watched more of your stuff and picked up on you using the 2 for sustain and it definitely clicked. I've also realized that my aim isn't as bad as I thought - my problem is that I'm hitting my shots, but they're often not doing enough damage for me to feel like I'm hitting them. I will still practice, though.
Escalating Magazine does drop off quick, but you are extremely undervalueing the item on Ivy regardless. With Active Reload you basically sit around the 75%-60% range the entire fight, which is a ludicrous amount of damage to ignore. It is competitive stat-wise with t4 items for the cost of a t3 on her - 80% extra damage at LOWEST with 25% additional ammunition? Count me in.
Getting Sharpshooter and not items like Healing Nova seems to contradict her identity. She basically wants to drop someone on the enemy team and follow up with a big Stun/Nade.
Whats your thoughts linepro ivy build? It basically focuses on improving melee. Been having a lot of success between both this and your build, but have been finiding the melee lifesteal such a good combo with the gargoyle and ultimate abilities, have you given it a go?
How do you think about heroic aura and hunters aura? Some of top mmr players does use those in weapon build and those are statistically best t3 items for Ivy 57% and 61% win rate for each. It's almost higher than t4 items. Fire rate and resistance is super valuable than just dmg especially late games, and that two aura item have so much value on that. I thought heroic aura is just really good for ivy, but did not expect hunters aura have that much win rate.
I think heroic aura can be good, hunters aura definitely good if you're doing a lot of splitting. I however don't use the items and value the other items I have in my build more
She’s gonna be made into an AD poke support like Ashe. She has a support ult, a milio W, and a zyra ult lol she’s made to be utility based. BUT her dashes and gun allow her to be built ADC as of now but I doubt they will let those stand by nerfing her AD ratios late game and buff her 1 and 3
@@poshypopDEADLOCK there’s just other more traditional ADCs (Wraith) and I’m sure they want to use Ivys kit for a niche role since there aren’t many characters. I.E Ivy ulting a McGinnis and dropping her in for an azir ult behind the enemy
What about Burst Fire? The stats are pretty good: +Move speed, +fire rate, and +slide distance. By the way, not a single word about slides?? Is it already obvious? Slides give infinite ammo. So ... MORE SLIDES FOR THE SLIDE GOD!
Out of curiosity, why assign quick silver to 2? Im fairly new to the game so im not arguing it, i just been finding success binding to the bomb so i can get that reload mind with while getting that slow.
Hey, sorry to bother but since you told us to ask question lmao. I followed your guide for 2 days (Main Ivy) and I've been improving a tone but now I face better player and I start to have the same problem again and again. What should I do against an opponnent that play safe (under his tower) but denies everything (they are closer so faster for them to hit the orb) and poke real hard when you try to melee kill the minions ? I'm strugguling to find an awnser to that :/
Not posh but thought I might have some insight. Firstly congrats on improving! If your problem is that your opponents are playing too safe, you've already done the impossible and secured lane priority as the worst laner in the game! To actually answer the question "what do I do to stop an enemy from just hanging out and denying me until we both grow old?" IMO, ya got two real options, 1. do the same thing back at them. instead of stepping up aggressively and killing their minions under turret, stand back to the side or in cover below the stairs and focus on denying, if they melee to secure, lay into em. All those troopers you're shooting under their guardian aren't gonna die before making it back out to you in the lane, you likely won't miss anything. 2. buy sprint boots, shove the lane in, say screw this boring guy and gank another lane. If you can't pressure their life or their guardian, might as well try and get your homies ahead.
You have to build HV if you're having trouble farming. Punish your opponent for walking up to farm by shooting/throwing kudzu, in theory if you do that enough you should have an hp advantage, once you have that you can pressure a kill. You could hit the wave less as well so the wave comes into you, if you are just perma shooting the wave it will always be under the enemy turret and they can farm safely, hope this helps
@@MaimedFern Thanks man ! I've been applying that and it worked like a charm, I roam a lot more and even if we dont kill them in a gang it make the team mate happy lol Monster round for jungle farm while going/commin back helped a lot too, I think I've passed the treshhold I get bully under my tower in lane now :p
The gargoyles portrait in game does NOT do her character model justice. I think she has a sweet design but she looks way more like a troll in her little character portrait at the top. COOL GARGOYLE LOOKS COOL LIKE IF AGREE

Unless they let you choose to always get duo lanes, pure supports don't seem possible.
Unhhh what? Why would you think a game by Ice Frog would turn out like that?
I see another video with the cutest Deadlock character in my YT recommendations, I click, and it's beautiful.

One of my favorite things about this game is that there aren't really any PURE support heroes, they all have some way to strengthen themselves.
I agree this is nice, some self sufficiency is nice
